Get your focus on for the day and go with it. What do you want to accomplish today and how do you get there? Maybe your focus is on relaxation and down time - be sure to block out that time too!

I have been in the garden for at least a couple hours each day and I am thrilled.

I have had to limit the helper from working in the gardens - I really didn't want it but she really wanted to be outside and being inside can be boring.I love that she wants to also be outside working but not at mom's sitting there. she would like to roll mom outside and her work. I suggested a walk but she ignored that. . She also has been taking things (in the garden) and moving things the way she would want them. She tends to take over. She doesn't seem to have that internal understanding about boundaries with others property.

I found her eating out of mom's fruit plate that I had made. I am beginning to think there is a cultural aspect to some things.

it's been a learning curve for me and for her.

I have a new little fridge in the basement and I am going to sell the one freezer - I think.
I also had the junk truck come and take some big things yay!
I wish you all a wonderful day!!!

today I have someone coming to repair our drip system, mom has a dr. appointment in which dd older and the helper will go with. 3:30 is pt for mom.

tomorrow our new chair and ottoman comes in

Thank you for the start, Twins. Today I was focused on getting out of the house early this morning for my nurse appointment at the health centre. And being focused paid off, as although I had to park a good 20 minutes walk away, because I was OTD in good time I had time to run errands before my appointment instead of afterwards.😀 Which meant the shops were less crowded. And I had a nice walk without feeling rushed, and afterwards I bumped into a friend on the way back to the car and we were able to have a quick chat.

Blessed, I'm out in my garden too! Thunderstorms have been forecast, but so far haven't materialised, although it has clouded over. Just come in for lunch with DH, and now I'm going back outside again. I need to sweep the patio and steps, and feed the pots with roses and geraniums.

Hi!

Blessed, tell the helper "NO!" when she does something you don't want her to do. Keep saying it. She will understand a loud, firm, no. You need to say it loudly and firmly every time. Forget about being nice. I know it's hard, but you need to be tough. This is YOUR house, YOUR garden. Sometimes people won't listen to a nice, friendly "no..." It must be a "NO!!" You will have to keep doing it until she stops, just like a puppy dog.

We had someone walk up our driveway yesterday and ask if we wanted to get our driveway paved. There are driveway paving scammers all over our region every summer. I said "No." Then he insisted and pointed out that it really needed it, they were doing a neighbour's driveway and they had extra... and he thought he could get the job by pouring some sugar into his words and he called me "Sweetheart"... (Grrr... I hate that, especially from strangers that happen to be men.) Then I said "NO!!" He walked backed to his truck yelling insults at me and suddenly I was a totally different type of woman to him and it started with a "B". He didn't know my dh was sitting on the other side of the fence. Sometimes I'm thankful dh has a hearing problem and no longer moves as fast as he used to.

I'm not following my own advice today. I have not gotten myself together enough to focus on the day. Dh came through after his meeting this a.m. and was running errands and going to the office for awhile.

Things OMM today:
-groceries
-wash car? Looks like rain?
-post office for HOA
-neighbor to dog sit when we're away in July
-DPC to caterer re questions, next step

I should do dreaded phone call first and get it done. I hate phone calls, and I'm out of my depth with a caterer but OTOH don't want to do it myself.

I’m up and at ‘em.
S2S, (and washed hair)
Bible reading
AND — did my DPC, Twins!!!

I called carpenter friend. This whole thing has me depressed, after the pest man said $4700 dollars. Carpenter said maybe $2000? He is going to come out next week and see what he thinks.

Ditto what you said, Cathy, about people trying to take advantage. Sigh.

Just about ready to go to dgd’s play.

Bw2 You can be the boss!
You can say no and put that back as far as the plants go, & to go back inside when you need some space and quiet time.
Also no on the food b/c of germs & she can have her own plate if that is okay.

I am back from a. m. in walk and did dust journal spiffed desk kit. & baked bread.
Have talked to my dsis.
Got my steps in for the day by 9:30 as well.

[I have a terrible case of I don't wanna just had to make myself do stuff.]

I have napped and that really helped.
I did do up the dishes trying to keep up on the kitchen as I had it nice two days ago!
I can do this.

I made it to PWYC before noon. Counting that as a win! I usually do the other threads first (H&F, STD, garden) and then getting to come to PWYC feels like a reward. You are my reward. :)

It has been a good day so far. Busy, productive and rewarding (see how that reward keeps happening)

Beside other things I teamed up with DS16 to order him pants for upcoming wedding. Hopefully they will fit. We have a couple weeks so may be able to order different if these don't work. Our only other option is to drive a couple hundred miles to a brick & mortar store that carries them. We will do that if we can't get the right size & style delivered to us.

It is dumpster day in our little town. Friday 2-5pm the city opens the gate to their BIG dumpster and allows us to use the dumpster for free. We have been hauling a pickup load or so to the dumpster most weeks. Most of it STUFF is coming from the shop but today I have a big heavy table that is going. I hate to throw away such a good solid table, but I tried to give it away but didn't get any takers. It is a table that my Dad built and used in his shop for many decades. I am okay with getting rid of it because I know that Daddy would be encouraging me to get rid of the table since it has outlived its usefulness. It has no purpose other than taking up room.

LucyLee - I am curious what part of that vapor barrier quote is labor. There could be a HUGE difference in various quotes on price of material that depends on the quality (thickness) of the barrier. You are doing awesome seeking input from many sources that will help you make your decision.

I love it LadyM! I love it when we have new posts to read, too!

Bw2, nodding along with Nancy and others, you're the boss! And Nancy, WTG on the steps!

And Lucylee is here in the morning! What a treat for us and for her! You might ask the guy you got the quote for if there are reasons why the cost seems high. Just say it's more than you expected and ask if there are circumstances that make it more?

Great job of getting out of the house this morning, KittyKatt! That's so hard for me since I've been retired and want to putter away in the morning.

Just finished DPC - had to leave message and she called back. So retirement party planning is progressing, I need to get invites together next.

Ran errands - post office, car wash and gassed up car. Would have skipped the car wash with rain in the forecast but I had fresh bird poop on side window this a.m. And grocery. I've been ordering groceries so much I don't think I've been in the store in awhile.

I started dishwasher earlier and it's finishing up. Our supper tonight is those frozen precooked burgers - trying to get rid of them, lol. And it's easy.
