Emma Grace Frost is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Chris Claremont and artist/co-writer John Byrne, the character first appeared in The Uncanny X-Men #129 (January 1980). She belongs to a subspecies of humans called mutants who are born with superhuman abilities. Her mutation grants her high-level telepathic abilities and the power to turn into organic diamond. Emma Frost has evolved from a supervillain and foe of the X-Men to becoming a superhero and one of the team's most central members and leaders. The character has also been known as the White Queen of the Hellfire Club.

Emma Frost has been described as one of Marvel's most notable and powerful female heroes, being labeled as a femme fatale.

Since her original introduction in comics, Frost has been featured in various other Marvel-licensed products, including video games, animated television series, and merchandise such as trading cards. In particular, she was portrayed by Finola Hughes in the television pilot Generation X. Subsequently, she appeared in the films X-Men Origins: Wolverine, portrayed by Tahyna Tozzi, and X-Men: First Class, portrayed by January Jones.

I am trying to work myself up to hang the laundry. Anywhere I want to hang it has clutter that has to be moved first and every molecule in my body wants to go to bed and forget about it.

Yikes, Dogged, laundry's one of the things that can't be put off till morning

Never made it here yesterday - it was an errand day and I didn't get home till 9pm, totally exhausted! But we have teacher gifts, bouquets, and whatever I thought of that might be needed for our seaside vacation. I wanted to try to find a pair of lightweight pants, but since I was late getting out of work, there was no time. Oh well, I will have to do with what I have!
Last day of school today. We've survived yet another school year, and now I will have nine weeks without getting a headache whenever I get a notification on my phone! Everybody only had one class period today, and then they are off, so I will need to provide them with lunch as well. And downstairs need to be cleaned, upstairs spiffed up, laundry caught up with and generally everything readied so that I can pack tomorrow and we leave the house presentable for the cat sitter.

Cleaned up after dog

I'm up and out early, as I have a hygienist appointment at 8.30. But I managed to squeeze a walk in for Freddie - I wanted to do it early as I think it's going to be too hot for him later on. I'm hoping to spend time in my garden today, as it's supposed to be dry and sunny. Which reminds me, I need to order some more biological control against the fuchsia gall mite. Maybe I can do that while I wait for the dentist to open?

I had a successful appointment with the hygienist, and she also gave me some tips about cleaning Matilda's teeth once her gums have healed and we have the ok from the vet - basically the enzymatic toothpaste and a finger brush, so you can feel their teeth and know you're in the right place. (She has a dog and a cat, so has plenty of experience!) She's also a realist, and admits she struggles with her pets, so said not to worry if it really is impossible, and also recommended the Plaque Off to sprinkle on the food. So, I'm feeling encouraged!

When I got home I went straight out in my garden. So far, I've managed to weed and deadhead, trim the bits on the hedge and pull out several patches of campanula that have gone over.

Having lunch with DH - he made yummy bacon sandwiches. This afternoon I want to cut the grass and I need to sweep everywhere and give the pots their weekly feed. I also need to send a couple of texts, so that gives me a good reason to sit on the garden for a while! I also need to think about planting my haul from the garden centre yesterday, but that may wait until tomorrow.
