Hope Summers is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Mike Carey and Chris Bachalo, the character first appeared in X-Men #205 (Jan 2008, during the "X-Men: Messiah Complex" storyline). She is the first mutant born after the events of the "House of M" and "Decimation" storyline.

Hope Summers is an Omega level mutant with an ability of unspecified limits to psychically manipulate and mimic the powers of other mutants.

This ability is primarily manifested as mimicry of the superhuman mutant abilities of those near her, however, she has demonstrated additional powers. When she was born, she unleashed a massive psionic pulse that destroyed Cerebro. During Messiah Complex when the Three-in-One tried to search for her when she was kidnapped by the Marauders, she was able to block and disrupt Cerebro from finding her.

Hope Summers can also mimic mutant powers at their utmost capacity. However, she generates power levels that are potentially dangerous to people and the environment around her..

She can also jump-start a newly emerging mutant power though to an undefined extent, and can redirect the force of magnetic fields into negative matter. She also has a connection to the Phoenix Force. Later it was revealed that she is an aspect of the Phoenix Force itself which enabled her to operate independently from the Force itself and become the "White Phoenix of the Crown," albeit temporarily.

In House of X Hope's true abilities come to light, wherein she can modulate as well as control the abilities of other mutants, and primarily uses her powers in conjunction with others in order to resurrect fallen mutants.

Thanks for the start, kittykatt !

Sunny morning. The day will be too sunny and too hot. Right now we have opened the windows and doors to the house cools down. MrNG had a walk in the neighbourhood (he hurt his back yesterday and walking always helps). I would like to have some sort of exercise too, but soon it will be too hot outside.
Only 23 out of the 95 French départements are not under a heat warning this morning. It will get worse on Monday and probably until Wednesday. Apparently Spain, Italy and Greece are going to be seriously hit as well.
Yesterday night we watched Harry Potter 1, the boys had been asking for it for a while. But by the time they went to bed they were afreaid to have nightmares as they were a bit impressed... So we went to sleep late.

TADA
managed to sleep well after late to bed
MrNG got up and set for a walk, it woke DS6 who went in the parent's bed and feel asleep again
Went to the garden to enjoy the fresh air, birdsong and beautiful zucchini star-shaped flowers

TODO
breakfast
help MrNG with a lol he started earlier
make plans for indoors activities and a very hot day
prep payroll meals for me
things fom my list, letter to DF J---
and enjoy being home with my lovely family

Thanks for the start kittykatt. Wouldn't we all like to hav esuper powers!
Hi FFB, it sounds like a great bday party. I think boys that age do get out of control when together. Even then they are asserting leader of the pack behavior!
I had a full Friday, working at mother's. Saturday I decided I was entitled to some time facing my house. No good deed goes unpunished! I paid bills, wrote HS graduation cards, sorted some things on the DR table, made a salmon salad, did 1 lol. Got a phone call from the NH that mother had fallen - not hurt. Then another that she was trying to escape and was outside in 88 degree very humid weather wearing a sweatshirt and 2 layers underneath, and refused to come in, refused to eat or drink, refused her meds. 7pm, she was sure it was morning. This is not like her. She is usually cooperative and pleasant. But she has been saying for months, that she is coming home this summer. She is DONE with the NH. I went over there with a Dairy Queen malted milk, which she refused, but I set it on her table, and she did drink it. I ended up staying there for several hours and taking a urine sample to the hospital lab.
It's difficult to konw how to handle this.
I am hoping that now back home, I can get a couple hour nap in before church.

Gma does the NH have advice on how to handle this kind of behaviour ? I suppose it must happen to some residents once in a while. I hope her health is fine otherwise. IMHO you are totally entitled to a day at your house to take care of your home and yourself. And even longer than that.

We have now closed all the blinds and we keep the doors closed. It's hot outside. i'm glad we're not living in the south of France anymore. We had to switch the lights on in order to cook and eat lunch, today and that's what our daily lives wer elike when we lived there, with closed blinds from 10 am to 7 or 8 pm.
now, how to keep two healthy boys occupied inside ? They would be ok with watching movies or just TV all afternoon if I asked them. I may enrol one of them to cut the fries for tonight's dinner. One of them may agree to solve an online puzzle... but it won't last all afternoon. I'll see.

TADA
breakfast
help MrNG with a lol he started earlier
went to nearby wooded area with a pizza box full of snails from our garden - relocated them
cook lunch (creamed shallots and fish, quinoa, and leftover tabouleh from the street party)

TODO
start a lol of delicates
keep writing letter to DF J-- ?
prepare a few payroll meals
keep the kids calmly busy... how
house cleaning tasks from the weekly to-do list ?
make planning and list for the upcoming week

Good morning/ good afternoon, FFB and Gma!

FFB, it sounds as though DS6 and your little guests enjoyed themselves yesterday, even if they were somewhat challenging at times!
You asked yesterday about the heat. Yes, we're under the same heat dome, and the government has been issuing warnings (all of which any normal person would do anyway -drink plenty of water, stay out of the midday heat, if the pavement issues too hot for you bare hand, then it's too hot for your dog's paws etc). Friday was beautiful - warm and sunny, with a dry heat. Yesterday we hit 30 C and it was still nice but more humid. Today is overcast and cooler, but very humid. Tomorrow and Tuesday are supposed to be around 30C again and sunny, and then it starts to cool down a bit with maybe rain in Wednesday. I'm planning to water the front garden this evening, when it will hopefully have the most benefit.

Gma, you got lots done yesterday ! I'm sorry your DMum is having such challenges ATM. Is it possible the heat is affecting her mental capacity and ability to think rationally? Of course it's not possible for her to come home except for a short visit, her care needs are too great. But it's all very difficult for you. (((HUGS)))

A good service at church this morning, and we met the new curate. I'm home having coffee with DH, as DF E is out for lunch again. (We all joke that her social life is much better than any of ours! ) I've folded laundry and PA, and the chicken is in the oven. Today's lunch menu will be: roast chicken, roast potatoes, tenderstem broccoli, carrots peas and creamed leeks, followed by vanilla blancmange and loganberries.

Morning all. The heat hasn't hit here yet. It's reasonably pleasant but I am still deciding what to wear today. I just put a thicker cardigan over my capris and sleeveless top.

Kittykat that lunch sounds delicious. I actually took a turkey out. Probably grill it later. Then I can freeze the leftovers for quick summer meals.

Ooph I remember those 7 yr old birthday party days. Ds 26 had one. Those boys were crazy too. They've mostly grown into good young men now 😆. They will. Hope you get a restful day today frenchie.

Gma maybe it's heat? I think you said they checked for infection. Your mom is one determined lady wanting to be at home. She is safe where she is.

I'm procrastinating a bit cause I would like ds to be up before I start music prep. He gets grumpy sometimes if I wake him with the piano. I should go finish a few routines. Then get started. Music today and then see what we get to this afternoon. I'll let dh text ds and ddil see if they want to come for supper maybe. And some general tidy.
