"Whatever you're doing, make the day well-spent. Include some extra me time and make sure you're spending time on things that matter. Make sure you're proud of your actions when the day ends."
That's from a topic Twins' Mom started for PWYC in October. Thinking of her! Thinking of Twin's Dad!

Here's what I tried to post yesterday
before a knock at the door, visitors, ds' family to help with recyclables and trash, ddolder calling to ask me over to pick up some extra groceries she wanted to share. And so forth, and so on and never getting back... ..
Oh, dear goodness, Twins'! Poor ((Twins' Dad)) Perhaps a comforting thought - what a story you will have to tell...??? I mean, really, really interesting story. I bet you would trade for something boring - anything boring.
Will they give him pain meds, I'm assuming - is this something to watch overnight at a hospital, though?
Ddil was extra shocked when I said a friend had a sting ray puncture at the beach. She said a friend of hers had the same accident 2 weeks ago on a beach trip maybe 40-50 miles north of Twins' vacation site. She said that was the first time anyone she's ever known had such an encounter and to hear about another so quickly makes her wonder about the frequency and what may have changed. (never had a patient either, but then we live inland) She says the antibiotics are so important, of course, and no tight footwear/socks because of swelling. Her friend kept her foot up for the rest of their week at the beach. Ddil didn't know about driving, for instance - might be wise to let others drive. I'm sure Twins' Mom has become a reluctant expert.
DgdC says to tell Twins' Dad we need to invent a sign for people's feet to say "excuse me" to sting rays. It could say "I'm really a nice person".
blessed, maybe we can turn some attention to this for you soon. Would you please email me what you wish your password would be? You can still use the one Kathryn made for you but only on other devices, is that right? We want you to have ease of sharing your kind postings!

Morning…
So sorry to hear about Twins husband. Spent many years in the Gulf of Mexico, where stingrays are prevalent. Never knew anybody who had ever been stung by one.
Went to my exercise class and then coffee with the girls. Came home and put Wimbledon on. Will be working around the house while I watch. It’s 95° here today not including humidity so I don’t think I’ll be venturing out much.

Good morning!
I am already having a much better day today compared to yesterday. I really don't know why but I didn't use my SHE cards yesterday, and it was not a good outcome. I only have SHE cards for things that I forget to do......you can guess what happened when i didn't use those reminders. I realized late yesterday afternoon that I wasn't using SHE cards and by that time many things were too late.
On the flip side - we had extra teens in the house yesterday and everything turned out okay. Everyone enjoyed eating and sitting together to talk for over an hour. I love teens who are eager to talk and share what they are thinking and trying. Some of their ideas are successful, and others are life lessons of what not to try again.
DD49 picked DD14 up at 6am this morning to stay at her home. DD49 asked for DD14 to stay a week but I suspect she will return DD14 before the weekend. We will see....
School starts August 7th. We are in our final and last month of summer break. If I was wise, I would start the planning process now for DS16 LAST YEAR OF HOMESCHOOL. He has all the mandatory credits needed to graduate except for ELA and Math. We will be doing other subjects but those two will be the main focus. I am 99% sure I will find university classes for him to do remotely. I best be getting this process under way.

Today is different. Not as cool in the morning.
I showered after watering outside.
Short walk with ddoggo. Had most of my morning steps in already.
Did some writing & journaling.
Meals & snacks are planned out.
-----
CI /
Heads Up for me fire from combine 1/6 mi. from me.
Winds outside 16 mph.
They have 2 helos dumping water from the river on it.
I live on the same street as the fire chief so I'm not worried.
But makes me think I need to update my go bag.
Thinking about where to park at the fire station or school maybe if needed.
I can smell it.
I did water out front and will go out and put water in back in a min.
One end is contained now where a h.s. girl friend lives.
-----
CI OKAY
I have been out watering in back.
Refreshing my go bag items.
They have 4-5 planes 2 helicopters dropping water and 2 more working with retardant drops
seems to be knocked down now.
Still windy. Road is closed I use coming home from town a scenic route.
State fire fighting resources have been mobilized now.

Hi!
Adult stuff is done. I also bought a huge bag of dry cat food while I was out. Dh and I had lunch out. Just cheeseburgers with fries and onion rings.
It is trying very hard to rain here. I'll be shocked if we got 1/4 of an inch.

It is hot (102F) with almost no wind today and tomorrow. I've gone to the garden several times today, but I didn't stay long because of the heat and no wind. After tomorrow the heat drops about 10 degrees and the wind returns making it comfortable to be outside again.
DH and I went on a mini adventure this afternoon. I drove some trails around the lake that we haven't been on in years. We found a new fishing dock that we will be returning to. It was difficult to believe that all the camp sites were empty since the first week of July are typically filled with campers. We talked to a teen that was riding his bike through the camp grounds and he didn't know why no one was there.
this evening DS16, a friend and GF are in the shop replacing injectors on the duramax. They had it running yesterday and in their glee of success in doing a test drive they decided to punch it to roll smoke.........which the 20 year old diesel engine did not respond well to their celebrating. They are regretting that decision and are now busy repairing the engine.......AGAIN.

LadyM I wonder if a lot of the usual people that stay there are Canadians? I've heard tourism from Canada to the US is down close to 80%. Add the fact that ICE raids are probably scaring a lot of others from leaving their homes or states due to the fear of being deported. I think this summer is probably a lot different than previous years in a lot of places. I know that in Canada there are a lot of ads for vacationing in Canada or Europe and the med. Alaska cruise prices are extremely low right now as well.

My area is not a tourist draw. Not many people want to come see our flat & wide open plains. Our visitors are typically because of a family member that is stationed at a nearby military base.
The other lakes are full with no campground spaces available. The other side of this lake campgrounds are full. That is why is so strange that no one was camping in this location.
I have seen reports on the news about cities with ICE and illegals but have not seen any around here.

More deep cleaning, little by little, in the bathrooms. HRH had purchased a new bathroom scale also, and I mopped ana extra time before placing in its spot. Looks sleek and sophisticated.
Some declutter in the den.
Keeping up with the kitchen, also little by little. I'm becoming good at working until I get a bit tired, then stopping to watch Great British Baking Show and its various counterparts (celebrity, sports, etc.) for short periods. This keeps me from getting so tired that I have to nap. Also, it keeps me reminded of the water I should drink, the small meals I should eat.
I was shocked today to find that the channel, Ro ku, sometimes has those shows on "live" (meaning on television at the moment). This is a mixed blessing - I was pleased to see some new footage I'd never seen before, but if there is no ability to stop and start it's not as valuable to me and actually gets in the way of my plans. I seldom watch the streaming concepts - very picky.
