The Tawny Owl (Strix aluco) is the UK's most widespread owl and can be found in forest, parks and large gardens.The brown and grey-streaked plumage of the Tawny Owl helps it to blend perfectly into its woodland habitat. It is the source of the familiar 'too-whit-too-woo' call which is actually made by two birds – the female is responsible for the 'too-whit' part when she answers to the male's hooting 'too-woo'.

Ringing Scheme data show that Tawny Owls can live for over 20 years, often frequenting the same territory and even the same nest hole, or nest box, throughout their life. During the autumn Tawny Owls are at their most vocal, as pairs on established territories seek to deter dispersing juveniles from settling.

Good morning everyone and happy Thursday!

Laura, you certainly had a productive day yesterday. The new desk is going in the garage until DH has finished decluttering his "stuff", or else we won't be able to move! When he's ready, he will ask someone strong to help him move it up to the house (probably Dneighbour S). I know my limits!

I'm hoping we get a delivery slot for the fridge soon - ATM it's from 7am - 7pm. ( Because this way delivery was free. If I'd requested a 4 hour slot instead, it would have been very expensive)

Today, I need to concentrate on this GS for church and a few other jobs this morning. Jude has weight loss clinic at 2pm, so after that I can think about the kitchen a bit more.. I'm going to have a 2 hour slot before DH finishes work, and 3 hours before my Waitrose delivery. Maybe even switch the fridge and freezer round? It would be helpful to have the freezer in its new place before the new fridge arrives. I'm going to need to clean both slots, but that shouldn't take long. DH has suggested moving the kitchens table out into the sitting room, but I think I'll wait to do that until Jude has had her supper, as that's where she likes to eat!

10.30 am church
Hoover car (weather permitting!)
Drop off flapjack at the Y
Parish lunch sign up sheet on table at back of church
2pm weight loss clinic - Jude
New to us desk and cabinet supposed to arrive today - DH to help unload in garage
5-7 pm Waitrose delivery
Unpack groceries and PA
Feed everyone

Start moving things in kitchen. Can I swap the fridge and freezer around so the freezer is in its new place? I'm also going to have to deal with *that* cubby hole so we can get to the socket.

I am off work today. I don't have any particular goals, but I have lots to choose from when it comes to cleaning and tidying.

Hi, Dogged! The fridge is being delivered tomorrow, but I need to do all the prep work today, as it could arrive any time after 7 am!!! And as DH is safely occupied working upstairs, I should have a couple of hours uninterrupted to move everything around amd clean those cubby holes. Also, as it's current 32 C /90 F outside, I want to get it done while the kitchen is still relatively cool.

I managed to hoover the car and drop the flapjack off at the Y before church, and even remembered the menu and sign up sheet for parish lunch. Jude has been for her weight check - she's stayed the same, which is a relief as with all the worry over Matilda, I took my eye off the ball with Jude's weight loss journey. I e also rung the dentist to reschedule my appointment in October after they cancelled it. So that's another job done that didn't even make it onto my to-do list!
