The meatball sandwich is a common sandwich that is a part of several cuisines, including Italian-American cuisine and American cuisine.

The sandwich primarily consists of meatballs, a tomato sauce or marinara sauce, and bread, such as Italian bread, baguette and bread rolls. Cheese such as provolone and mozzarella is sometimes used as an ingredient. Additional ingredients can include garlic, green pepper and butter, among others. It is sometimes prepared in the form of a submarine sandwich.

It has been suggested that the meatball sandwich was invented in the United States around the time of the turn of the 20th century.

Good morning, Dogged! Well, good night to you? Yes, we are back! The weather was not at its best last week (rainy and cold), and being at the cottage for the first time since early May, DH had a lot of general maintenance to do, but it was nice to play games with the kids and I love how they are more likely to actually talk to us and share things as there's nothing better to do there with no TV and no internet connection :-)

We got home at 6pm last night, I've already done three loads of laundry and more is waiting for me - we brought all blankets, pillows and linens from cottage to wash. We may go there again this weekend, so I need to get them laundered and dried by Friday just in case! I'm working from home today, so I have loads of emails to go through, and there's rather little food in the house, so groceries first. BBL!

Good morning Trissie and thank you for starting us off. So glad you enjoyed the time at the cottage despite the weather.LOL at the kids talking to you and DH when there's "nothing better to do"!

WTG on all the progress you e made I. The apartment, Dogged!

So glad you're having a wonderful time with all the family, Helian - yesterday sounded lovely!

Today is supposed to be cooler with maybe some rain. Yesterday evening I lost the top piece for the garden tap, so first priority this morning is to carry on looking for that. I e been through the drawer where it lives at least half a dozen times, taking everything out, I've emptied our my garden trug, and it's not there, and I've even been through the cannister with the veg peelings. Today will be emptying the brown garden bin and searching through that, in case it got there by mistake . DH has been looking at replacement parts I line, but none of them so far are quite right, so any finding vibes would be greatly valued! I think this is going to be my first job today, while the weather in is still dry and pleasantly cool!

Some housework would be good and I would like a walk, but after my very long walk yesterday, that's not too critical. And a little more work on the eBay listings - can I list another box?

Wow, trissie, you do not get a chance to transition between vacation and back to regular life. 3 loads done already! Along with everything else. WTG!

You can have all of my finding vibes, Kittykatt. I'm having trouble picturing what you are looking for. Here taps are welded to the pipes, so they're hard to lose.
Hooray for cooler weather. We have been having hot and very humid weather here with thunderstorms that don't cool things off, so Germane and I have mostly been staying inside.
I'll bet that you meet interesting people selling doll house items. And your DH on the steam train--he'll have a hoot!

I should have been in bed a couple of hours ago, but at least I got my hair washed . Tomorrow, I can go to the Bell store before my shift to trade in my modem and get the new one set up .I have Tomorrow, or today rather and then Wednesday and then I am done. :)

Thank you for the finding vibes, Dogged. Between you and St Anthony, we were successful :D :D :D (it was in the garden waste bin) and the tap head is now back safely in the drawer. :D :D :D I'm not sure what it's proper name is, but if you picture a traditionally shaped tap, it's the bit you turn when you want water, or to turn the tap off. On many garden taps here, this piece just lifts off for safe keeping especially over winter, and also to stop unauthorised use of the tap (the tap is on the front wall of the house, as the water is only laid on at the front of the property so it's visible to all passing eyes, and as we're on a water meter I'm a bit picky about who uses our water. Some of the "youth" on our estate would probably find it highly amusing to turn the tap on and leave it running :x )

I'm encouraging DH to try different things in the run up to his retirement, so he gets an idea of what's out there for him to do , and to see what he enjoys. (I don't think it's good for him to spend all day watching TV or playing on his iPad , and I would like him to have some interests that don't involve drinking. That's another advantage of the steam railway - they, quite rightly, have a very strict alcohol policy, subject to spot checks.)

Now I've found the tap head, I'm going to have some "proper" gardening time before I come in and have my shower (there really wasn't much point in getting clean and then going delving into wheelie bins! )

Image * * * Good Morning! * * * Image

thanks for the start, trissie, and good luck getting back to work after your break and almost no transition, as Dogged says. Do you have more days off during the summer, or are you going to work all July and August straight and until school starts again ?

kittykatt, glad you found your tap part. Having a tap that any one can access from outside of your garden doesn't sound practical. I suppose you have searched for ways to make it harder to access, protect it, or anything like that... I hope your garden doesn't suffer too much from the recent heat (assuming we were weather twins this pas week)

Hi Dogged. You seem to have things all planned out in a good way. I hope you're in bed now.

So, a Monday at home, it's National Day in France. We've had a weird weekend with Saturday an incredibly hot day, spend the evening and part of the night at MrNG's DF S--'s 50th birthday party, she had organized a lot of things with maybe 45 guests, but it all took so long we ended up having dinner past 11pm, the kids were hungry and bored and tired long before that - there were only 3 kids, activities weren't kid-friendly, so we were glad when it all ended. We were in bed around 3am - on Sunday the kids were tired and grumpy, we stayed inside and were in "lazy" mode, watched Star Wars, the first movie (=Episode IV), DS9 kind of enjoyed it, DS7 didn't seem to understand much.
Today I may try and catch up on house stuff, with both kids to entertain MrNG doesn't have time for house maintenance during the week and kids get things dirty a lot faster  We have plans for a picnic near the sea but that means prparing sandwiches and wraps right now when kids are still in bed - 10am - so we can leave as soon as they get out of bed... And right now I'm in a lazy mood.

TADAs
up after catching up on news on phone
bfast
time in garden, like every morning in summer time
quick look at weather, there may be a sprinkle

TODOs
cuop?
prepare food for a picnic, pack beach stuff?
do things in the house before work week starts again (4-day work week this week)

Good morning, FFB, and enjoy your day off! Yes, we were definitely weather twins last week, it was *very* hot. I'm sorry the party wasn't better organised and you had such a late night Saturday.

If everyone is tired, could you maybe just have a picnic in the garden? I remember when I was small, we used to make a "tent" out of the old fashioned clothes horse and some rugs, and it was great fun to eat picnic lunches under that. Later we graduated to a "proper" tent.

The problem with the water, is they all the houses in our terrace had water laid on at the front of the house, so the bathroom and kitchen are both at the front, and there's no water at the back. Theoretically we could have e water laid on at the back, but it would be very disruptive and cost a lot. (It's one of the things on my list for when / if we ever get a heat pump installed, as that process would be very disruptive , and a little more disruption then wouldn't make much difference.) So, for the foreseeable future, having a removable tap head which makes the tap inoperable is the best solution. (You * could* probably use a universal spanner to work it, but that's almost certainly too much like hard work for the casual opportunist )

It's cooler today, and we've already had one heavy shower, so I've put the heating on just for 30 minutes, to run everything through and stop various parts seizing up through lack of use. This will hopefully save us from problems in the autumn!

I need to get everything swept up before the next shower, and then I really need to go inside and get me showered and into clean clothes!
