From Google AI: "A methodical approach is a way of doing things in a careful, systematic, and orderly manner. It involves planning, organizing, and executing tasks step-by-step, following a set procedure or method. This approach emphasizes thoroughness, attention to detail, and minimizes the risk of errors or oversights."
That's us with our checklists, cards, spreadsheets, etc. We take care in what we do and we are ready for the week ahead!
What's your favorite organizational tip? How do you get stuff done?

thank you for this post d Twins - perfect for me today - dd older is helping me get out of my ADHD fog and set up a basic easy to do focus for myself today.
I hope you have a really wonderful day and I hope everyone has a wonderful day as well!!!
Today, instead of having "the force is strong in this one" today - I have The Alzheimer's is strong in this one today!

Oh my goodness - I find humor really helps.
How can such a tiny little thing - 4'10" be so forceful - last night she was up all evening - she wouldn't move from bed yesterday afternoon and I tried to turn off the tv at midnight and later and I got an earful.
this morning she is just as feisty.
dh said that when mom is in this mode that it reminds him of the grandmother in the movie "my big fat greek wedding"
I think I might go to sleep today again
wishing you all a great day!!!

Good morning!
Twins - thank you for the start today.
I depend on spreadsheets to track digital SHE cards. I try to keep as few SHE cards as possible and only add a new one when life proves that I don't always remember without a reminder. I have no clue if it is because I am 69 years old, or because DH memory is failing or because of raising teens and all that involves. All I know for sure is that those SHE cards are an excellent assistant in being methodical in getting things done.
I have recently added a SHE card to tell Alexa "Play FM 90.1 KUCO Classical music". It is mentally calming.

Wow. I need this one. I have a semi solid morning routine.
Shower
S&s both baths and reboot laundry
Tidy laundry room and master bedroom some mostly straighten the counter and make the bed and such
Empty and reload dw
That's about where it stops. Some days I do it all before work. Some days none. But I usually stay on top of not letting the bathrooms and bedroom get bad. And laundry gets washed and dried. Put away,?; well that's a heaping basket first.
I need better evening routine. Than eating at 8 and crashing on the couch. And somehow better detail cleaning.
Blessed that's rough with mom. I hope she comes around and better mood or sleep it off yet. I am so thankful my mom doesn't have an angry side that would not be pretty at all. A little stubborn but the non verbal is hard. We straightened out some blips in meditation and I think taking her off the dementia med helped. In my mind it might have been giving more side effects than help. She seems to be more alert and up and about than before. Unfortunately she is getting to the stage of not being able to coordinate swallowing all the time.
Prayers for the family dynamics again it's such a rocky road. We have such a hard time trying to help dad and give him advice and find a way to let him be himself but not make rash decisions. Maybe my sister questioned him too much again. I don't think so but I told my dh the other day I don't know what I would do without his calm cool collected head that is thinking much more logical than any of the rest of us atm. He keeps me sane

. And prayers dad goes to the lawyer today to properly set his will. Not the one my sister was thinking. We don't know that he will get everything he wants out of this one. Maybe? Dh is also saying oh well it can't be that complicated. And my brain is just not computing anything but dad listens to me better than any. When I can function and have facts straight. That is my sister strong point.
Ugh there. Now it's almost all out. One of these days I will do a members only thread. Family dynamics are not helping and mom used to be the stable sweet one now we're all caretaking for her.

Does it look like I'm melting? Right now it is 94 F and it's going up to 116! Seriously?? There is an Air Quality warning along with a heat warning AND an thunderstorm warning all in effect.
Thankfully I will be in air conditioned buildings from 10 - noon and then from 1 - 3. Sheesh!! Well I have said that we go from minus 40 to plus 40 and today it's expected to be 40C with tomorrow being more of the same. We also have smoke from the fires out west.
Right now dh is saying he's going to cut the grass. I hope he decides to stay inside. I won't be here, so it's his choice.

Oh, that's an idea.
I believe here it would be "Alexa, play FM 89.9 WDAV Classical music". A thought to remember when screaming into a pillow is not practical.
Well, I went and gave that a trial run, and it worked perfectly except that Tobias was bothered by the music on the tablet since he was napping nearby. Cats maybe don't like violins so much? So, it's playing in the den. Something called "Tune-In", which I've never used before. I know ya'll assume I have tech commonsense, but I really don't insofar as house-wide influences. I know my own computer but leave it free for instant audiovisual lessons.
Right now, HRH is at his appt without me (he let me sleep - I was surprised when I woke). When he gets back, the classical music will probably put a similar look on his face to Tobias' look, lol.
Method - I like a methodical approach to various chores, like my own order of washing dishes for best draining, my own method of laundry, order of cleaning the surfaces in the bathroom. My own method in my cardfile and planner and habit trackers. I think we tend to smile at methods we have "Made Our Own", for efficiency and attractiveness when done.
And when I have used my own methods of healthy habits for several days without veering into others' ideas, I feel better.

Methodical comes to mind for me today because I have a list going a mile long. Some of it is in preparation for dh's party on 27 July, some of it follow up on insurance/Medicare since dh retired, some of it the usual stuff that I can't seem to get done. (of course, being away four days last week, and a shorter week before hasn't helped.)
I felt good about what I got done yesterday. While I was waiting around for those two Facebook Market pickups, I decluttered a lot of paper. I had a basket of papers that had been stuck back in our closet at some point, I have that down to a few genealogy papers. Most of them are probably already scanned, but I should check. I had stuck our 2024 "paid bills" in there so those are labeled and in the garage. And I pulled a bunch of papers out of my kitchen counter "basket" and disposed, filed, scanned or gave them to dh for disposal.
I've walked the dog, rescheduled the window cleaning from tomorrow to next week and I'm waiting on Stanley Steemer this a.m. Towels are in the dryer already.

Bw2, what a positive attitude you have with your dmom. You strike just the right note of firmness, flexibility and humor with your dmom.
I love the music idea, LadyM, and wish I had your spreadsheet expertise. At one time I was pretty decent with Excel financial functions and projections but I have no idea about your spreadsheet.
Ugh, Lauralind. You seem remarkably cool and collected to us - perhaps you're like the duck paddling furiously underneath? Members only is a safe place to share. As a group we have experienced much, and we're always here to listen.
Oh my, Cathy! Temp is dangerous! Tell dh no mowing today! Surely he'll decide not to do it.
Harriet, I'm so thrilled that you're doing "normal" things again but sorry that some, like plants, are still off limits.
And I think we tend to smile at methods we have "Made Our Own", for efficiency and attractiveness when done.
There's a whole subject again now that dh is home and doesn't always get my own ways of doing things, lol.
Furniture/rug cleaning people are here now...

I picked up my phone at 9:30am just to find a text from DS16 asking me to wake him up at 8am. This is the 2nd time recently that I have not look at my phone early in the day to get time sensitive messages from others.
To prevent this from happening again, I created a SHE card for 6:30am to remind me to look at my phone text messages.
My SHE cards can be ridiculously simple and most of them are quick to accomplish. It takes a split second to mark it done so the time it takes is minimum.
I had container & ingredients on the counter to chop for Pico de Gallo. I made a trip to the garden for pick a fresh tam jalopena pepper. When I got back to the kitchen DH had cleaned everything up and put it away. It didn't register with him that I was going to use those items on the counter. He was just doing what he does to keep the kitchen clean. I had about a 2 second frustration moment with my items being gone, but then I realized how blessed I am to have someone that is methodical about keeping the kitchen clean.
DD14 ate the entire cottage cheese container during the night. I eat CC and berries most every day so will be making an quick trip to the nearest store to puchase more cc. My life is filled with itty bitty tiny methodical actions.
