Whatever you do today, make sure the day is well spent. Take some time for yourself, read a good book, spent time with loved ones, all the important things!

Ugh. I'm having trouble getting focused this morning. Dh worked out early, came in before I had enough coffee, and was chattering away. I had to remind him. Before he left to go back out for breakfast (gotta keep up the social calendar, lol) he brought me dog collar for which battery was blinking red. I troubleshooted and changed battery. He could have done, but whatever.

I need to get started on back patio - the small patio outside the screened porch. I'm kind of all over the place this a.m. tho.

Good morning

I am having a strange-to-me experience this morning. I am all alone. It is very rare for DH or teens to not be with me.
I am SHOCKED how fast I am doing normal things today and I am not trying to go fast. I am running two hours ahead of my usual time to do these daily things. Really? Interacting with family takes that much of my time?

DS16 and friend worked until 1:43am hauling hay then they crashed at friends home because it was close to the field where they are working. I just checked Life360 and they haven't left for work this morning. They are going to be late. That is the reason Wes (DS16 boss) didn't want him to work through the night even though those hours are cooler. Wes wants him to be mentally fresh for the daylight work. Farming is dangerous....deadly dangerous if you aren't paying attention. Seven years ago one of our VDFriends was killed moving hay just a few miles from where DS16 is working. Just a moment of distraction can be deadly.

The first day of DH wearing a smartwatch (fitbit) has provided valuable & useful information. He only slept 2hr 42minutes last night. When I showed him the facts, he went back to bed for a few more hours of sleep.

Hi!

Dh is doing a complete brake job for a customer's dd. Before he went ahead and ordered the parts, he did a full brake inspection, including a test drive. Then he called the customer to tell her how bad the brakes were. According to dh they were falling apart. I think one brake pad had fallen out. He said it was the worst he had ever seen. Customer's dd is a young driver. The brake job is going to cost the mother almost $900, because dh is giving them a "break". LOL!

I have been to one bank and the pharmacy this morning. I had to bring the insulin home. Now he has to check his blood sugar before and after every meal and add insulin if needed. He also has to sign a piece of paperwork before I go off on my next errand.

Oh my, LadyM, I hope DS16 is okay and that you don't have to wait forever to be seen.

Is your dh wearing the monitor on his arm now, Cathy? Dh wears one and changes it out every 14 days, sometimes they go bad sooner. It's really easy.

Nancy is on track for the day! Good for you.

Patio area is done. Dh came home and used a power washer attachment on the hose to get some pressure and I scrubbed some too. Then he got busy and did some scrubbing on the porch and got out yard stuff to clean up some of the kudzu on our woodpile and creeping into the neighbor's fence. Realized I still need to clean around the edges of the screened porch (where the frame comes down to the flooring) so worked on that some too. I washed our comforter and it's going back on the bed in a few. Now we're both resting and cooling off a bit.

I can't believe it's already 12:30. My mentor call was rescheduled until Friday...

Twins' Mom he said he will put it on after he finishes out in the garage. He has worn the same make in the past. (pre 2020)

I went to the Canadian Government office and dropped off the paperwork. So glad to finally be done with that.

My inscrutable-as-usual doctor sent a message saying scan results were "Again, very good.", and that she'd see me at my appt, when we would talk about "details". Sigh. I'd like more, but that's okay. Funny thing is that as I awakened this morning, I was having a dream that a nurse of this dr called and was saying dr would be calling to chat, so why didn't I go outside and wait for the call, that there were lots of details. I awakened saying the word, "details", so I'm sure that was the message I got in sleep.

Ramblin', so sorry to hear you continue sick in bed with this awful cold - stomping my foot with you.

((LadyM's ds16)) Glad he's seeing a doctor and hoping he can get this cared for quickly, that it won't be a big deal.

Today's modest moments well-spent include baking a seriously perfect cake of cornbread and ordering an appropriate gift card and greeting card for one of my late dh's great-nieces, who has graduated.

Oh, dear, Cathy, thank goodness they didn't travel any further with those brakes. I was driving once in my life, a million years or so ago, and had brakes soften/fail. I can still remember the intersection, how that awful moment felt. wow. That was at a time that traffic was much less chaotic around here.
