Wet, meaning it's still raining here; or wet cleaning, meaning mopping, etc.

It's still raining, and the interstate through here was closed down because of water for a period. More rain today, although tapering off. I hope the rain is gone elsewhere, and you're enjoying the pretty flowers and green grasses, revitalized!

Twins - It seems like the heavy rainstorm we drove through on Monday has made its way to your area. I’m not sure if it’s the same storm, but such heavy rain can definitely make driving hazardous.

DS17 and I were reminiscing yesterday about the time we hydroplaned, causing our car to flip end over end four times. On Monday, I was definitely having flashbacks while driving through the heavy rain that left the interstate covered in water. DH, however, has no memory of the accident and wasn’t at all stressed about us traveling on the water-covered road.

I miss summer break. School and homeschooling add at least four hours of hands-on tasks to my day, leaving me with little time to continue the things I enjoyed during the summer. I need to become more selective and prioritize my activities.

Hi! Thanks for starting us off Twins' Mom! We had some rain overnight. It feels a bit cooler right now. Thermostat still shows high temperatures.

Dh woke up early had his coffee while he yawned loudly the entire time and nodded off between yawns. He finished his coffee and went back to bed and slept for another hour. Now he is watching TV.

All three cats went outside for a couple of hours. Youngest cat is still outside. Bigger/older 2 have had their once daily treats and are now both laying down bathing themselves.

I have all 3 litter boxes to deal with today as well as dishes. All of these are wet jobs. I also need to water the inside plants.

I finally ironed the solitary pillow case that I am going to stuff to make dh a new pillow. I'm just putting the old pillow, still in it's case into this case and sewing up the one end. Ta da!! New pillow! Ironing board is now down and ready to be stored somewhere. That counts towards doing a job that I have been procrastinating over for more than a month.

CI / ddoggo woke my around 4 wanting to cuddle then I got up had some coffee and did enjoy some quiet time before sunrise.
Walk happened and then watered the beds in the back, still need to do the front ones. Made a veggie omelette ate on the deck.
Did a bit of reading. Heading out now to do the front watering. Waving to all!

I have been doing a chore and then rewarding myself with getting to read a chapter today.
Seems to be working yea!
Diff. book today.
I have watered in front & moved stuff to one side of deck hosed it down and then dame with the other side. Yea for wet tasks.
Got to the section I wanted to read now!

I slept until almost 9 a.m. It's so dark out it was easy for me. (My superpower?)

The dog has been walked and sheets in the washer for dcleaning lady, and the rain started again. I'm so glad dcleaning lady is coming later today, not early, because I lagging on getting footprints from the trip put away. So that's my morning, I'd like to continue my genealogy work from yesterday. I found the 1869 probate record for my ancestor in a nearby county but that was just as dh got home and I had to go get script and and tea bags (to bite on and slow bleeding) and then I got wrong tea bags and then he went to Walmart himself and on to bowling. Added to the incessant rain, separation anxiety from the dog and LastPass not letting me in to get passwords, I was in a mood myself.

Later I also have the Zoom call with my mentee.

I spent an hour in the kitchen cooking while DS17 was sitting at dining table doing his homeschool assignments.
Spaghetti & meat sauce made.
Bourbon chicken made.
I had 4 burners on the stovetop going at the same time.
Multi-tasking to my max capability.

I need to make DD14 an appointment to get different asthma inhaler. They were going to give her one at her last appointment but she declined. Yesterday she was wishing that she had it.

Also it is time to make DS17 yearly well child appointment. hum....will this be his last year for this? Does he age out? The moment he turns 18 then he isn't a child? hum... I might be overthinking this.

I cant see all the posts- im on my phone bc i left my computer at the hospital last night.

Waving to all of u!! We didn’t get rain in our neighborhood but Milwaukee in Wisconsin (1 hour north of us) got hit w 14 “ of rain 2 days ago and southwest of me got hit w lots of rain. We got nothing and we need it.

I did my dailies this am. Cards check -

Struggling w bro being poa and the care for mom. He reminded me strongly. His relationship is a problem w moms care bc he can pull her out of here and send her to the nursing home where his gf works - same one she was hurt and left in pain for three days etc. I have to be careful not to react. He talks to his gf all the time what is happening w moms care bc- she suggested she go back to the nursing home!

Its been very stressful for us right now especially w mom getting thinner

Dds had a wonderful time w their cousins last night. Dd younger said it was the best b day!

(((Blessed))) So hard to balance all that.

I'm frustrated. DD14 doesn't handle surprises well but can manage if I give her a heads-up. The no cell phone policy during school hours means I can't let DD14 know about her doctor appointment this afternoon. On Monday, when I picked her up from school, I saw adult employees standing outside the building on their cell phones. In my opinion, banning cell phones is a ridiculous state law.

So......do I drive to school and give them a note to deliver to DD14? This is dumb. ***Pouting***

LadyM… many schools in many states now have an implemented the no cell phone in the classroom rule. I’m sure if you notify the office and they’re aware of the situation with your daughter they would get a message to her immediately. It’s really old school that’s what we did when I was in school and my mom needed to get a hold of me. It’ll be interesting to see how it impacts what goes on in a school. But to be honest, cell phones are big. I’m so distracting and learning I’m really for it.

My morning took a very strange turn. I got up and dressed in a lightweight sweatpants and top and went to the grocery store. And sweetie went with me. On the way home we noticed a man on the side of our community road pushing a walker he looked really tired. When I got home and unloaded my groceries, I noticed on my Facebook page for our community that people were concerned about this man. I quickly grabbed a bottle of water and sweetie, and I hopped in the car and drove to where the man was. By the time I got there, a friend of mine was standing there talking to the gentleman. It was now 9 o’clock, and the temperatures were well into the 90s. She had managed to get him under a tree for shade and was trying to find out where he lived. Been in this situation before so I immediately called 911 and let them know what was going on. 15 minutes later three cop car showed up and began questioning him. He knew his name he knew where he lived, but he didn’t wanna go home.

Long story short, my friend and I stayed with the gentleman for 2 1/2 hours while the police tried to figure out what to do with the gentleman. They could not identify his daughter that he lives with because he couldn’t tell him them her name. Eventually, they found her. She is a realtor with an open doing an open house and she was not happy about having to come back to take care of her father. It was a half hour drive at least. In the meantime, the poor fellow was getting frustrated and agitated. I was able to get him to drink water, but it was not very easy. He would not get into the police car and would not let him take them home. He would not get into the police car and let them take him to the hospital. The police ended up calling EMT and they came to talk to the gentleman. He was giving them a very hard time and did not want to go with them either. Eventually, the police knew they had to do something because they couldn’t just leave them sitting out there and my friend and I could see where this was headed.

The police politely asked my friend, and I if we would go ahead and go home. We watched the EMTs pull out a stretcher to put them on. We could tell there was going to be a struggle to get this man to cooperate with him and that’s why the police wanted us to leave. Which we were glad to do.

Came home, soaking wet with sweat because I’ve been standing outside in the sun for 2 1/2 hours. Unloaded the rest of my groceries put them away and sat down and now I’m eating lunch. I’m gonna take some time to read. My head hurts a little bit, so I just took some Tylenol and that should help.
