Consistency - routines -
I had heard once that there is a beauty to consistency - a freeing of the soul by doing a little each day -
Does consistency help you during the day and the week.
wishing you a wonderful week

Hi Blessedw2! Thank you for starting us off today.
I have emptied and refilled the dishwasher.
I have taken out the bathroom and kitchen garbage.
I have done most of the pots and pans. They have also been dried and they are on the stovetop waiting to be put away.
All 3 cats have been in and out of the house numerous times and they have all had their morning treat.
I am dressed to shoes. It's cold enough here that I am considering putting on long pants. Right now I'm wearing shorts and a short sleeve top. It's very windy here today as well.
Dh wants burritos tonight. I told him we have taco shells and seasonings. If he wants burritos, he needs to go get the stuff for me to make it.

The construction guy is here working on the chimney. He has sent a bunch of photos from up there, which is much appreciated. HRH has been frustrated by asking others for photos, being promised, and then never getting them. He is somewhat knowledgeable and can add a lot to decision making about it, but he's not going to climb up there, so getting photos is just common sense.
He's really hurting these past few days. Taking OTC pain meds, which he hates to do. He went to get the chimney "caps" (?) from the storage building for the fellow, and I told the fellow he needed to go right with him, because he would need help. The fellow of course hopped to it and caught up with HRH to lift and carry, but he had no idea until I said it - HRH will do a great job of seeming to have no pain. Others don't know, but he can't get that past me.
Interesting visitors on our roof are two brown toads.
HRH says they probably dropped there from an overhanging tree branch. My question is, how are they planning to get down. I don't want to second-guess them, because I am not an expert in how to be a toad. But this doesn't seem to be too smart.
I made biscuits last evening for supper and so we had 3 left for breakfast this morning, which was pleasant.
helia, have a pleasant and not-too-hot jog. I probably should take an honest look at my fridge, too, and see if it needs some attention.
blessed, I have never decided fully between pulling cards morning or the night before. Sometimes a day can change on a dime, even first thing, so I'm not sure. But if you do already have them pulled, the visual will prompt you. If the plan doesn't work out, cards are so forgiving, it's not as if you can't put them back and start again the next day.

Nice to have rain overnight, bw2, leave the ground damp to work in today.
Cathy, I broached the TV this a.m. with dh, asking if we could plan to turn it off around 9;30 or 10 daily downstairs. He has a room upstairs where he can watch TV all day if he wants, and I reminded him it wasn't good for him to sit there and play on his phone with the TV on so long. He's been out and worked out before 7: and I understand him wanting to veg out some. OTOH, it's annoying to me when it's on so long. I really asked nicely, staying away from "rules" and just saying it was part of working out him being at home so much.
He showering now to bowl in a senior thing today so he'll be out some. I also have my workout at two.
We had a good time out yesterday, tho I felt it was too hot for a boat ride. I went anyway and of course it was fine. But we got caught with thunder and rain trying to move in so came back sooner than A would have otherwise. Had drinks and snacks overlooking the river and then went to a nearby restaurant for supper.
I have the Roomba going already and have lamb pulled out of the freezer for our supper. Dh will grill, and also corn on the cob from the grill, and something green. I've also walked the ddog two laps.
Wishing sometimes that I used cards but a cklist on the computer seems to work for me.

Morning....
I am definitely still in recovery mode and not feeling very well. Miserable would best describe it. I have a drs appointment this afternoon and I sure have alot to share with him. Headaches, teeth aches with no energy. I am not a happy camper. The crude that is coming out of my nose and throat is red/black junk. So I'm guessing my infection is still raging. I ended up taking another pain pill late yesterday afternoon.
However, yesterday, I was motivated to tackle two huge decluttering jobs. I have a 150+ yr old hope chest that now sits in my garage. Over the years it has help many of my table clothes, napkins and many other things I used in the past to entertain. I also have a closet in my home with many of the same items. I bit the bullet and attacked both of them yesterday.
It was one of the most difficult challenge to do. I had table clothes and napkins for many kinds of occasions including some that were from my mom. I had hopes of continuing some of my entertaining when I moved here, but the reality of that ever happening again is nil. With that understanding I went to work and filled 2 large black leaf bags of things I knew I would never use again. It was tough but I'm glad its done.
Tomorrow I will drop them off at Goodwill. I am at peace with that.
Next is to go through all my china, crystal and other entertaining pieces. If I haven't used any of them since I moved here they are gone. Need to find some boxes to pack them in.
Twins.. I had Einstein working yesterday. Sweetie and I run into the same problem with the noise from the TV, especially when we end up in the bedroom at the end of the day. Our solution is to purchase headphones so I can watch tv without bothering Sweetie. He, like you, is sensitive to the continual sound of the TV so that's what we do. For me, the advantage of wearing my headphones is that I can hear the voices coming from the tv to the point that I like wearing them as much as possible. Your DH could wear them and still sit in your living room without the sound bothering you. I too have a tv in my office, but am much happier watching it in my living room to bedroom
Off to finish getting dressed and then head for my appointment... This should be interest!

Good morning
I was sleeping so peacefully when the alarm went off this morning. I might have let out a little growl in protest before dragging myself out of bed to start the day.
Both teens were up and getting ready by 7 a.m. We left the house at 7:35 to drop DD14 off at school before heading out of our little town. DS17 had his blood drawn at the lab in the city, which turned into a bit of a hassle because the doctor’s order wasn’t there. I called the doctor’s office twice before the order was finally faxed and received. The doctor’s office claimed they had faxed it twice, while the lab insisted they never got it. Eventually, the third fax worked. This ended up taking an hour I didn’t have to spare this morning, but all’s well that ends well.
I drove through Jack in the box on the way out of the city at DS17 insistence that he was faint and light heated. He had been without food for 12 hours and in drama mode. Sometimes there isn't much difference between toddlers and teens.
Homeschool is happening.

Good... okay, afternoon -- I really meant to get here earlier.
Belated greetings to vergerswife and helia, both of whom I seldom get to see! (And both of whose names my computer wants to "correct.") The church merger sounds like a very healthy thing, vergerswife! Enjoy that jog, helia -- presuming you've got similar weather, it seems pretty pleasant today.
Thanks very much for your kind words, Harriet. Toads, huh? So glad you're able to see through your DH's public face and take care of him.
I think I will steal your idea to do worksheets in a separate notebook, Nancy! I have a workbook about coping with neurodiversity that my therapist recommended that I think my kids might also benefit from. I was thinking about copying the worksheet pages before I work on them, but there are an awful lot of them. A separate notebook should be just the thing! Thank you!
It sounds like you have your week cut out for you, lucylee!
Cards, blessed -- I have been trying to get back into my cards these past few weeks, but I peter out halfway through my day. Working on being more consistent... I suppose eventually, it will come.
I have not produced the flurry of activity that Cathy has, alas. Curious to see whether her dinner ends up being tacos or burritos.
Twins, I suppose you will have a lot of negotiating what it's like to live in your house now. Headphones are a good idea -- DC uses them often. Theirs are corded and plug into the Roku remote. I don't know whether newer TVs might have a Bluetooth connection. Ours is far from new.
Rose, you're doing amazing for feeling under the weather! I hope the doctor's appointment brings hope of relief.
Well, you know, LadyM, that one can get light-headed after giving blood.
I'm sure they took much less than a pint.
DD is working on making a pattern to replace her wallet. It's still in good shape, but the fake leather is peeling. So she's using the skills she gained in her sewing elective and working to copy it and maybe improve upon it some. She got a bunch of fabric and a couple of zippers when Joann's closed. Poor thing had a job offer email this morning that, on further inspection, turned out to be a scam.
As for me, once I'm here, my cards say I should work in the playroom with the kids. I think I will have lunch first, and then maybe DC will be ready. I first roused them at quarter after nine, telling them that next Tuesday, they will already be in the car on the way to class, and they are just now having breakfast.
Off I go -- have a great day!
