I must feel good about this self who is always within me. I do not want to look back with regret at what might have been had I used my time wisely. Planning is my tool to prevent time from sweeping away my dreams. I have to live my life moment by moment, one day at a time. How I choose to use those moments make my life special and unique. Time is my ally. Together we will shape the future. - Pam Young and Peggy Jones

Happy Birthday, Mystery Woman!

Nancy, that was such good advice you gave last night. Time for ourselves and time to reassess. Plan a reward or adventure every once in a while.

I like P and P's concept of planning being the tool to keep dreams from being swept away. Planning our time lets our uniqueness have space.

I spent yesterday after I'd last posted feeling quite unwell. I had eaten "out" (through a window) with HRH, partially, as we finally finished some errands for last week. And even though it didn't seem so bad, something certainly went wrong. He felt fine, but then we didn't eat the same things. I actually fought with nausea to the point I wondered if vomiting was on the way ... .. ugh. ;) Saltine crackers and a rare pepto bismol capsule, rest. Perhaps my tummy is more on a hair-trigger than I would have thought.

Slept well last night then, and enough, even though I would have thought that wouldn't have worked out since I was down and out yesterday afternoon and evening. Strangely, the semi-smart watch believes I got more deep sleep and more dreaming sleep than I have in a long time.

Exercised modestly first thing this morning. Some standing, mostly floor work because I was thinking I might not be "up" for too much, lol.
Smoothie was soothing.

Started the broccoli sprouts this morning.

Have taken a photo of the now-nude cabinetry, after HRH removed the two doors and after the two drawers are gone. He held a tape measure along from side-to-side and sent the photo on along to the construction guy who'll be bringing the dishwasher.

Monday planning finds me very close to a clear sewing area. The holiday plans, I see, expect this for this week.
The week:
I have a brief appt Thursday not too far away, and ugh... .. three on Friday at a distance.

Happy Birthday Mystery!

It's a typical Monday for me. I've successfully completed the first two habit-stacking sets of SHE cards. DD14 has been dropped off at public school, enthusiastically sharing her kandi hand bracelet designs and creations. DS17 has started working on his homeschool assignments.

DH's favorite cousin called and invited him to lunch at his favorite restaurant. DH made an excuse for not going, which surprised me. I encouraged him to go and enjoy time with his cousin, but he declined, saying he didn't want to leave me. **Sigh** I've been noticing a change in his behavior lately. He constantly checks where I am, almost as if I'm his lifeline to normalcy, and he's holding on tightly.

Micro has groomer appt today which adds 2 hours of driving to my day. Also DD14 has a counselor appt this evening which is another 1.5 hours of driving. While in the city we will do pharmacy pickup and restock pantry supplies at Sam's. Also DD14 gets to pick her favorite place to eat which is ALWAYS the same. It is a safe bet that Ms I don't like change choice will be Sonic bacon burger with a chocolate shake.

I stopped eating out at most places because of experiences like Harriet’s. The food makes me feel awful, and it takes 24-48 hours to recover. It’s just not worth it. I’ve gotten used to taking the kids to get fast food without ordering anything for myself. At first, it felt like I was missing out, but after dealing with that horrible feeling, it now feels like I’m treating myself by not giving in.

mom does not want to get up. but it's a healthy not want to get up - not the dementia moment.
we are finding that she does better with lots of young voices talking around her - her mind (even if she is tired) is good and she pipes in.
mom's feet are really swollen - painful - she took furosimide

pulled my Monday cards and wrote down a basic get ready for christmas for the week cards
It was 40 degrees this morning and I have decided to take down the tomatoes - roast them, freeze them etc.

today's hopes:

played with dogs :D
zone work in garden which includes
watering :D :D :D
cleaning out tomatoes - put in compost etc. for the future garlic
clip millenium alliums
put a couple pots away
clean fountain, bird baths :D , dog pools
feed birds - I am now going on every other day.

Monday should be vegetarian but I have chicken and mushrooms to cook

set up meds for mom and I :D
laundry room work: some ;)
wash :D dry :D put away
vacuum in between washer and dryer
vacuum floor
dust walls
clean sink
clean the top of the washer and dryer
wash floor
look for things to let go off
wipe off hand prints
floors
white laundry :D

other:
swish and swipe bathrooms
room by room 5 minute pick up and put away
fill dw and wash at night - empty in morning :D
clean sink before bed
clean off counters, sink and oven
make dinner but serve it for mom at lunch time.
veg and snack prep
vacuum first floor
dog stuff

hope: freeze dry parsley
make apple sauce and pie from our apples
order one christmas present

other this week
work on lights, painting etc.
buy the corn stalks - put them in garage for fall decorating - they disappear fast here. I should have grown corn
try the christmas lights - do I need more
make suet for birds bougt lard :D
order one present

Monday: chicken
Tuesday: bathrooms Mexican food night
Wednesday: anti procrastination day - vegetarian
Thursday: errands other rooms I have cleaning ladies this week/casserole - slow cooker- cleaners, order my meds, buy birthday cards - I will be late with a couple cards but will text them. j lk
Friday: cars garage - some sort of grill or fish
Saturday heavy work/simple food soup salad or sandwiches
Sunday: family time/me time/ make pies/cin rolls/waffles/etc. easy pasta and veg salad/dish

Going back to making 2 soups a week. Mom loves soup.

I know our neighbors, in the back, - two/three house down to the left and one to the right, aren't happy that I can't let them run through our yard any more - We saw the adults with flashlights in our yard out back Saturday.
We have dogs and .I really dont care that they walk on the flowers and hang from the trees so much but I worry about the dogs. I don't want the kids to get bit by accident. I can't imagine our dogs doing that but you never know> It says please no trespassing beware of dogs. . the weird thing- is that there is a sidewalk to get to our neighborhood next to their houses that goes straight to our street. They, including the adults walk through my back neighbors yard to each others homes- even though there is a sidewalk in front of their houses. my neighbor, behind me, is not happy about the adults walking through the yards. (the adults have wild loud parties and even brought air horns to the party over the weekend). They don't care about the children but the adults are another thing.
we were always taught to ask if we could go on peoples land - no matter how big or small that might be.

I agree with Harriet that Nancy’s last night advice is a good one.

I have been to my morning class and then stayed for our new fitness drumming class we are forming. Our true fitness room in under repair so we are using a multi-meeting room for our fitness till the other room is done.

I also am going to the drumming class that we all signed up for during the month of Sept.

The weather is predicted to be stormy all this week. Rained quite a bit yesterday, plus I had a headache so my day was a wash anyway.

My house is in good shape and I have no desire to do anything except my morning routines and foot print pick up which isn’t much.

I need a shower after my morning classes but see no need to do that since I’m about to get sweaty all over again.

Off to get ready…

Happy birthday Mystery… hope you have a very merry day!!!

I baked a pie - is there a more aromatically wholesome use of fruits? (smile... .. of course, the sugar, notsomuch)

I'm getting the amount of filling adjusted to accommodate HRH's tastes (he likes more pastry in a bite of pie) and "good looks" (which I think requires a little height of filling. Getting the timing right as to when to put a ring of tinfoil to protect edges from burning but keep the pie baking. Also more work making leaves, little "berries" for decoration, and using the knife to pry the slits open a little as i make them - prettier, and may let out more steam, too.

Learning that light-colored filling like apple lets the top crust look as done as it is, light brown, but dark fillings like blackberry or cherry have a tendency to make the crust look underdone when it's not. Learning. I'm thinking a party pie for family get-togethers might be apple until I work out whether, maybe, my crust is too thin? Hmmm... ..

Need to check weather along with Ramblin'. We need a little dry time. HRH says he hears that no one can mow their grass.

LadyM, so much driving for you today. I'll be matching that on Friday. When are they going to invent that transporter? Dd27 listens to books while in the car.

blessed
, you're doing a good job balancing needs of your family, other neighbors, your dogs.

Micro was dropped off at the groomer. There's a three-mile stretch of road barely wide enough for one vehicle, and it's rare to encounter another car there. This morning, though, I came across three vehicles on that section. To pass, we had to slow down and edge one wheel into the ditch while keeping the other on the road. All three vehicles were large and towing trailers, leaving very little margin for error. Anyway, we made it through without any issues. Now I need to wash the Odessey because it's completely covered in rock dust. I'll wait until after picking Micro up to visit the car wash.

Homeschool continues. DS17 isn't happy with ELA assignment. So sad, too bad, life is hard, deal with it. If school was easy then you wouldn't be learning anything. I'm probably not going to win the most sympathetic teacher award.

Yesterday, I made a stuffed meatloaf, and it’s absolutely the best thing ever. I’ll admit, I’ve been tempted to hide it so no one else gets to eat it. Meatloaf for breakfast? Yes, please!
