Good morning, everyone, and happy Friday!

Dogged, WTG getting the playpen for Germane!

L.Ann, you sound like the perfect Grandma's, and Little Bit is very lucky!

Helia, thank you! And WTG for getting so much done .

Gma, that's a lot of watering! Bit I'm sore your garden will look beautiful when everything has grown.

Laura, I forgot to say yesterday that pelvic floor exercises are a long term thing, and something one should do every day for life! But they're quick and simple do do, and can be done lying in bed!

I'm awake early as I needed the bathroom and there isn't much lint in trying to get back to sleep before the alarm goes off. I think I'll also use some of this extra time to email the vet with Fred's repeat meds. ( Of course this may change when his results are back, but they need a few days to process repeat requests and can always make any necessary changes). I have any full day ahead of me, and I would like if possible to have a nap, or at least some time reading quietly, before DH's concert this evening!

Thanks for starting us off, Kittykatt. Yes, I think that the playpen will exactly meet our needs for travel. It is very light to carry and just folds out into a circle. The canvas bottom comes off, so it can be washed if necessary. And the sides are low enough that I can put it right up against the bed and put my hand down for Germane as soon as she starts to fuss, so we won't have late night concerts in the hotel room. And I won't be afraid to sleep, because any messes she makes will be on things that I own.
It sounds like you have a very nice day lined up, with time to read and a concert to look forward to.

I'd better head to my bed so that I can start my day at a reasonable hour. Laundry day for me.

The playpen sounds like a good idea, Dogged - could you maybe use it at home too?
kittykatt, thanks for reminding me that I need to email DBD's neurologist for a refill for her epilepsy meds!

Make plans... and all that jazz. Yesterday's plans were totally hijacked by DH coming home late and with a bumper-crashed car. The person in front of him slammed breaks, so did he, but the woman behind him was a bit too late. I am hoping there will be no insurance problem (they didn't sign anything on spot, because it was a very dangerous place to be stuck in, just exchanged names, phone numbers and snapped a couple photos). Worse come to worst, DH's car has collision insurance, but we've already filed a claim with the other driver's liability insurance (she just has to confirm she was at fault). Nobody was hurt, and the car is still drivable (his is a sturdy Volvo SUV - her poor low-rise BMW was not so lucky), but it's extra time and effort that this will take to solve!
Today's plans are off the window because I forgot DBD's school was closed today due to teachers' training or something. Would have been nice if her homeroom teacher let us know by email or something (it is on the school year's schedule, I do remember reading it, but I haven't had time to note down schedules from all of the three schools yet), but at least DBD did tell me yesterday when I was trying to make her do homework for today :-)

Anyway, there goes my quiet Friday when I planned on getting things done, but I live by the rule of improvise, adapt, overcome!

Sleep well, Dogged!

Trissie, I'm sorry about all the events that have conspired against your quiet day. Just glad that no one wasn't intending the accident. A d you're right, it would only have taken the school teacher a minute or so to send out a group email reminding parents that the school was closed today. After all, many parents have busy lives and work outside the home, and need to make arrangements!

I'm in town, and have had a successful visit to M&S Foodhall , and stocked up on thank you cards and chocolates, and also picked up a tin of their shortbread for Christmas (the use by isn't until February next year, so should be ok) and some chocolate coins for DH's stocking. I know it's really early, but I need to get things as I see them, and it also spreads the cost. There was an empty gap on the shelves where the big tins of Christmas chocolates should have e been (either temporarily sold out, or not in stock yet!) so I'll try again in a few weeks. :D

Ugh. Sorry about the car mishap, trissie. Will you be handling insurance, etc. - or will dh do that?
Agreeing with others that the playpen sounds like a wonderful idea Doggedly.
Safe travels and I hope the appointment/s go well, L Ann.
Kitty, you have encouraged me to give the NH memory floor staff a nice box of chocolates and a card to thank them for their loving care of my mom. The box should be arriving today. I did this at the last NH too.

Last night, I got the load of lights folded and put away and made the baamboozle game for class. This morning, I need to do the rest of prep before class. After payroll, a walk/ jog would be good, and I'd like to drop off chocolates and a card at the NH, if possible. We're going in on Saturday to clear out Mom's stuff, but the director of the staff isn't usually there on the weekend, and I think the box needs to go to her first - and she can share with the staff she directs.

Next:
- payroll: finish prep for IW D5
- cards in the mail
- s2s and self care

Later:
- squeegee and wipe down shower
- reclaim kitchen
- make the bed
- otd by 10:30 - need to park in parking garage
- 11-1 payroll: teach IW D5
- home; lunch
- write thank you card (do I need to buy one?)
- NH: drop off thank you chocolates and card; take a load of my mom's stuff home
- walk/ short jog
- payroll: end of session tasks correction
- communicate with dbro re: zoom meeting with pastor on Monday
- anything else?
- dinner date with dh
- duolingo
- update health apps

TaDas!
- up; weighed self
- coffee
- email deletions + weather website

WEEKLY ACTIVITIES
Fri 11-1 payroll: teach IW D5/ date night with dh
