My first 3 hours of the day went smoothly.

Something that I am trying today is writing down my favorite thing that happens each hour. I did it yesterday and found it worth the time & effort to stop for just a minute each hour with pen/paper and capture the moments that spark joy.

My morning started with a walk before coffee. Coco and I met many new friendly neighborhood, dogs and their owners along the way.

Came home and made my coffee and talked with Sweetie for while. Took out the trash and then made breakfast for the both of us.

Gathered up the laundry… Yes, it’s Thursday… And while I was doing that, Coco‘s parents called me from Beijing China. They are exactly 12 hours difference in time so it was 10 o’clock here during the day and 10 o’clock there nighttime it was weird to think about that

Need to finish up my dailies and also work on my computer for a while. My knee is still bothering me quite a bit and I believe that I bruised it. Because of that, I haven’t gone to my class this morning and I don’t plan on going to my class tomorrow morning either. I’ve been keeping it elevated and putting ice on it but it’s taking a while. Read about a bruise knee and found that I need to be putting some heat on it so I intend to do that for a little while today and watch a little bit of TV while I’m doing it or maybe read

Gonna try and stay off of it as much as I can but you know I have to walk Coco so I’m trying just to take it easy while I do that.

For some reason, Harmony has been on my mind today. Strange to think that I live so close to her… Less than a 30 minute drive… And wish I knew what kind of shape she was in. Would visit if I thought I could.

Thinking of y’all… Have a great day

I try to write down the best thing for each DAY, LadyM, but to try to do it every HOUR is really focusing on the positive. Maybe I should try that.

I guess the best thing to happen to me in the past hour is that I discovered that OG's tombstone is NOT missing.
OTOH, I guess I have discovered that I am an IDIOT. I don't know why I am allowed to walk around in polite society.

I rode out to the cemetery where OG is buried and looked again. I think his daughter has had her name and his grandchildren's names engraved since I was out there before. She (someone) had placed flowers right in front of the stone, so it covered most of the writing. When I was there the last time, it was starting to rain, and I looked behind the flowers and saw "daughter" and I just thought it was someone else's daughter that was buried there.
I did not even look at the backside of that stone. (That's what makes me an idiot.)
In my defense -- is this not the usual way stones are set:
-- -- Picture yourself standing ON the grave. Behind you is the footstone; in front of you, you can read John Smith and the birthdate and death date.
Well... no. Here, if you're standing on the grave, you would be reading "Daughter Mary Jane, Grandchildren Sue, Sally, and Jon."
Today, in the bright sunshine, I walked around to the other side and there was his name and dates. I feel very foolish, but at least I didn't tell anyone except y'all and my dmom.
This cemetery is kinda unusual anyway. Some stones are placed like I said first, and some are like his. His father's stone is like his, actually. But it makes it look like some people are facing east and some are facing west.

I also rode out to visit dh's grave. His flowers are fading, the blue looks kinda purple now, but I'm pleased with the stone. I wish I had gone a little bit larger, but I don't think he would mind.
And considering that my bank balance was lower this month than it has been at any point since he passed away, I guess it's a good thing I didn't go larger.

I am not nearing bankruptcy or anything -- I'm just frustrated with the reality of not being able to keep it where it used to be. I guess it's at least 60% of what it used to be, so I guess that is all I should expect.

I also went to the elementary school book fair. DGD was glad to see me; she hugged me and said she missed me. :D I haven't seen her since Sunday.
I have a load of clothes in the washer and I have straightened up the bed... of course s2s and did Bible reading... put the newly charged ring doorbell back...
I have a few more things to do before I nap. Since I only got about 2 hours sleep last night, I feel I am due a nap.
DGS' ballgame at 5:30.

Hope you all have a good day! Good morning, blessed, and rose!

9:00 joy - walking the trail, taking in the sights, smells, and sounds of nature.
10:00 joy - cooking for the guys and hearing their gratitude and praise. Four ham & cheese quesadillas, four hash browns, and two hot links = success.

DD49 called me and asked if I would tell the teens that she is cancelling their plans with her. I really don't like being the middle man and prefer them to communicate directly. However, I would rather the kids know now rather than waiting for a no show. When I told DS17 the plans were cancelled, he shrugged and said "i'm used to her bailing on me".
I will tell DD14 when she gets out of school.

Good morning!

I hope LadyM has lots of joy to write about. Oh, there she is!

Ramblin', that's a lovely thought about Harmony. Coco might accompany and be a sweet ambassador to a household. I think it's such fun to hear about you taking Coco to meet your neighbors, four-footed and 2-legged! How is the change in food doing?

Glad lucylee is feeling better and yes, welcome in polite society. A bookfair is a fun event.

Here, the broccoli crop (smile) is greening up in the window. Glad to have it since I'm almost out of the last one. Haven't been able to find kale in the stores lately, which is odd. So, something of my own to add fresh is very helpful.

Great happiness here with our long afternoon visit with dd27 yesterday. Her Daddy got back from dentist without too much numbness and she brought Thai takeout, of which she is an expert like her Dad. It was quite good.

She brought him his bday present she's been trying to get to him. Royal Crown Cola and Moon Pie with a cap embroidered with same. A venerable regional cuisine combination. I said what a good cap to have as a second in his case he loses his all-time favorite but he was shocked - no, this one is to be saved for good, on display.

She did all kinds of little chores around the house like clipping Tobias' claws her way, and trimming my hair. (Yes, I benefitted from a little trim - how cool is that! My hair is just so proud to be here!) We talked for about 3 straight hours, hearing all about her work, which is fine except for stress. She's off to a convention in VA today. A vague possibility she and dsonil could get over to see us late this weekend if she gets back in any reasonable time.

Then in the evening I finished the last of the 6 small sewing projects.

But do you think I could leave it alone? No, I stayed up a little too long looking at some Unfinished Fabric Objects and considering finishing those, too. I'm convinced this creativity burst has been very healthy for me.

I'm home, watching (listening to) services online. I decided not to go and spread the cold around today. In spite of meds for cold, I'm sniffly and unpleasant to be around.

I'll still make the kugel and dh will take it back to the temple this afternoon. He's coming home for awhile instead of staying the day.

I haven't started yet - I did have breakfast and coffee - had the nurse here to take out the med line
the grass cutters have been here
took care of a text
ordered something

I have decided to read a bible verse - go back to the Bible study before anything.
I wish there was, still, a group of women of different faiths taking time to just get together - there used to be something in the city but not any more. acceptance and appreciation for each other.

we were supposed to get our chair today but they sent another ottoman. ;) I had to laugh when the delivery guys asked their office to send the chair and that a mistake was made. she said "do you still want the chair?" lol the chair has been paid for. it will be interesting what they will send next. we will have to wait for months. the guys were very nice
