Good morning, girl children!

Today is The International Day of the Girl Child

Positive global change for women is one of the "17 Sustainable Development Goals" world leaders committed to in 2015.

There's an outline or list here on how the world is doing on this and other goals. Very inspiring, also sobering.
__________

Thinking of ((Cathy)) Get Well Soon
What a difficult night. Thank you for thinking of us to let us know.

Twins', that scary explosion was, of course, not near you really but near where you will travel next week. Still, it makes me feel like saying, "be careful".

How are you doing on having sustainable personal goals?

Yesterday, Twins' was thinking of Focusing on what's important.
My maternal grandmother used to say, "remember what's important" and then not expound on that at all, but look at us intently - we were supposed to think out the particulars of that ourselves! And watch out that we weren't forgetting along the way.

A big goal for me is sustaining good health, getting stronger.
Also adding creativity into my life for optimism and enthusiasm.
There are household goals toward a simplified, hospitable life.
Whatever the important hopes are, they can be brought closer to reality by staying strong and simplifying the daily tasks.

Thank you for the start Harriet.

I am feeling so much better today. I have called the pharmacy with the prescription information and they said that they do have all 3 meds in stock with enough to fill the 3 quantities. I will go up there between now and noon. Kidney stones take their own sweet time to go from the kidney to the bladder and then out, so I will have enough meds for 14 days. I might pass the stone today or it might stick around for who-knows-how-long.

Fortunately I didn't have a lot planned for this weekend.

Lots of thoughts lately about sustainable goals. I'll take weight over to Health and Fitness, I think. I've felt I haven't done much since Rosh Hashana. Am I feeling depressed? Not sure but the shorter days sure put a damper on my energy.

Dh and I were at odds during dinner last night - my unease over calendaring yesterday - dfriends were trying to get us all together again before they go back to FL, and the date that dh "invited" friends for dinner in two weeks was bandied about. I insisted we were busy because, as far as I knew, it was planned and on calendar, and dh came back with "it's only tentative..." and I lost it. I can't depend on our calendar anymore? Other aggravations - him acting like the Godfather that he can "take care of something" when I'm perfectly capable of doing it myself. Perhaps I'm too edgy with him lately. The lobster "emergency" didn't help.

KittyKatt, have to lol over your lobster disposal...I haven't checked this a.m. to see if they're still alive.
Twins, I think you're a very patient understanding wife. If DH had presented me with two live lobsters, I would have insisted they were immediately returned to the sea or wherever else they came from!

And it's been weird morning - smoke detector chirping had me awakening to a shaking dog - had to get that changed right away. Thank goodness I figured out which on it was because we only had one extra battery.

And woes with this laptop - restarting was taking way way too long. Had to do a hard reset and now I'm worried about taking it with me on Monday.

Glad Cathy is better today and can sit around and drink fluids and catch up on sleep this weekend. Take care of yourself.

(Cathy S.) Ouch.
I put an update in J & C thread on Dgd.

Sustainable goals: Looked them up...oh my
For me yard sales last summer and old towels to vet. place this week so that stuff is not in the land fill.
Learning / French to keep my brain so I am not a burden to others.

Up on time today 5:45
bujo & planning done
I have meals for today.
Daily and weekly tasks on track with yea!

Trying to wrap my brain around some sewing.
Rain in our forecast 70% chance of it today.

At a yd sale was SO temped to get rose plates & tea cups but could not think how I"d use em or where they
might go. Had gold on em and do not work in mic. I drink more tea than coffee. I do not do tea party gatherings.
Sigh maybe some one else will get em. I might go back today and rearrange my china hutch. LOL! If they are still there.
I already have a set of rose china, blue / Lav. ones smh.
I could drink my Cran. juice in em. instead of a goblet, put on my tiera and just have fun!

Morning…

Cathy I feel for you, hope you’re doing better

I’ve had an interstitial virus for the last twin days. Thought I was over it but this morning proved me wrong

I haven’t done my laundry yet so I’m gonna try and do it today. We shall see.

Nancy mentions cranberry juice... ..
Cathy, HRH says with kidney stones he used to drink cranberry juice and also would take the D-Mannose capsules from Solaray, just to keep any worry about infection/UTI away.
Nancy, sometimes we really like a "thing of beauty" and just decide to give it a home. Everything doesn't have to be practical, but I understand you have to ask are you really going to enjoy those enough. That kind of decision is a toughie! I bet they are pretty.

Depression suspicions - eating one Brazil nut each day helps with "mood" and worry about mood.

Oh, Twins', I hope your laptop starts giving you more confidence. To go on a long researching trip and need to be serious about capturing/retaining information (and keep in touch) and not trust the laptop. That could be a worry.

It is my dear cousin Mary's birthday. I just decided to call and I chatted with her dh of 51 years, who is infirmed. So that was positive. She is at work even though her knees hurt so much, he says. I don't know how she can keep doing so much for everyone else. He says she and their children now face the hoarded house of her dfil, his father, who just passed away after saving everything his whole life. He says they are on their second dumpster now.

So I win! Went back to that yd. sale and found one other one I did not go to yesterday.
Got those dishes dgd's and DD & dgdil & I had discussed tea party!
Found a spot for them. They were about twice what I thought but 100+ years old.
I'm now doing pretty dish rotation like I used to do with kids toys LOL!

Also got plastic plates with Webber grill fun BBQ pattern on for the Fire Pit Fun I want to do.
Hot dogs or sausage cheese dogs. Maybe for new neighbors and gkiddos. Great price on them.

Got free lites for holidays... might be fore tom. cage trees.

Also found a tall fan. way happy with the price on it.
I've been playing musical fans upstairs I needed on in the sewing zone.

A couple more items went out to the shed.

Sweats new hem got pinned I need to try em on next up.
