Think about it - Sunday is considered the first day of the week and it is also considered a day of rest- what a great way to start the week.
We have been given the gift of Sunday to have time for us and our families. What a blessing.
May the week be wonderful! No over-goaling - When we over goal it is about us -not about others- it's a negative voice that takes us away from our joy and our families.
How will you regroup this week for the positive.
I wish you a wonderful blessed day and week!!!

Today I am remembering my mom. She died on this day in 1967 when I had just turned 6.
No rest here today. Dh is still sleeping and he will be watching football all day after he gets up.
Cat litter boxes still have to be cleaned.
Blankets need to be washed.
Dishes need to be put away from the dishwasher.
Garbage has to be taken out from kitchen and bathroom.
Leaves need to be mulched, so I will be riding the lawnmower for an hour outside in the cold.
Food needs to be cooked. Tonight we are having scalloped potatoes with pork chops also cooked in the oven and I will put carrots in as well.
I'm also thinking about people in Cuba dealing with this Hurricane. I'm sure Florida is getting rain today.

Ddoggo woke me at 4:30 news paper delivery person next door.
Oh well I got my journals up dated.
Had bfast and took Rx.
Got a couple yt's up had not been as good at getting daily ones up not seeing the game animals as much this week.
Plus was staying close to home fighting off the bug.
Glad I remembered to bring in cushions from the chair on the deck.
Also happy I showered last night before bed.
Clouds sun & rain in our forecast not so much wind the coast got it worse yesterday.
Waving to everyone.

Re: Sunday - a new week - a new day October 26, 2025
Thank you bw2 for starting us with such a lovely positive message!
I do need a day of rest. Yesterday was the Jewish Shabbat of course, but we had social obligations and I felt like a ping pong ball. I napped a bit in the afternoon, then needed to s2s to go out for the evening wedding. So I am tired of people! We were seated at a table with people I don't know that well and there were three empty seats that were no-shows, so wasn't a sparkling evening of conversation.
Dh was up very early when ddog was barking. He was napping when I came in from walking ddog now. I did stop and talk to dneighbors next door, down the street, and the mom from across the street who was wearing her ds out at the playground.
The high temp today will only be around 60 degrees, a good day to be staying in. Chance of rain this afternoon.
I am going to use today for rest and doing what I want. I need to make a list and be busy tomorrow with getting the house ready for houseguests on Tuesday. And there are a few things I need dh to do to help out - I'll make him a list too.44

Nancy, this happened to dh at my house. I just go back to sleep but he can't. Glad to see you're productive in the early hours!Ddoggo woke me at 4:30

the young man is here - he is putting up christmas lights in front , emptying and putting away my pots. taking down the hammock and umbrella
planting the Thalia bulbs.
--------------------------------------------
ignore: my book I am reading for bible study book club. thought it was interesting
How to break the cycle of self judgement - our over goal-ing affects our vision of ourselves
morning:- remember we are loved not about what we do or don't do.
stay off electronics first thing
"we become what we behold" Dianne Kokku - our phones - what does it do for you - a help or does it take away your day.
Over goal-ing can give lead us to be exhausted, replaying tapes in our mind of what we should have done.. "No one can sleep if she believes she needs to keep the world spinning".
"The evening can be a time of severe self judgement."
"What we think we can do in the morning seems overwhelming at night. We never could have done it at all" We could work all night, but still all the things you think you should do can't be done in a 24 hour day or a week.
"framing the evening win love rather than your own expectations. "Take your hands off the world and rest"
"the evening brings me the reality of my limited life. There is so much we wanted to do or should have done: that's about self.
------------------------------------------------
this is a religious book on how to reframe the day - "we are not God". We are loved whether we retile the kitchen, wash all the laundry, or make a 1,000 cookies for the holiday function or do nothing at all. It's all ok.
he suggests praying a minute or what ever in morning , afternoon, evening. to reframe our day in love. always remember that it is not about us. it's about putting love in our day. being grateful

Re: Sunday - a new week - a new day October 26, 2025
Walked before sunrise. Ended up Lea I g under my sink and reorganizing it. Did a load of laundry and now they need to be folded and put away. Also need to do a grocery run.
Figured out why Sweetie has been so funky. He stopped taking his meds about a month ago because it gave him diarrhea. I wondered about that because when I’d asked if he need help with taking his pills he would say he’d had figured out how to take them.
It’s like having a teenager that was caught in a lie. Anyway I’ll call his dr tomorrow and see what she recommends. She warned us that the diarrhea might happen and said she could change his meds should it continue.
I was very kind about Sweetie not taken his meds but had to walk away because in truth it pissed me off.. mostly because it explains why he’s been so snarly towards me at times and it could have bee avoided

Re: Sunday - a new week - a new day October 26, 2025
Feel better soon, Nancy!
Oh, Ramblin', that side effect was a difficult one for several in my family. I hope the dr can give some good advice.
blessed, your excellent note taking, capturing those bright quotes about over goal-ing, made me think of one quote I scribbled down fast this morning during the service. She quoted N. T. Wright:
I thought it was interesting that he notes we even set higher goals for others, and will worry "all day and all year".
yes, that will be an occupation of mine today, too.
What delight this morning to find that a machine had completed the dishwashing last night and they'd dried overnight. The counters were clear, but MUCH more important, they promised to stay clear through the day with just rinsing and placing out of sight for later. A sink ready for service, no stacks, no jockeying for position to do cooking chores, no negativity that I'd just be waiting for a "big enough" chore to build up, to make filling the sink with hot water worth it.
Expecting a delivery today. Need to make an order of various household items.
Hopeful for a little more sewing. Practicing some stitches I've not used much before.

The modern western world is built on anxiety.
This world thrives on people setting higher and higher goals for themselves and each other,
so they can worry all day and all year about whether they will reach them.
If they do, they'll set new goals. If they don't, they'll feel like they failed.
