Happy Friday!
I don't particularly care for fig jam, I consider it a waste of good figs, but I know some people do like it,

We've had a lovely time at the cottage. The teenagers talked to us!

We consider that a special benefit of the cottage, since everybody enjoys the warmt of the fireplace in the living room, that's where the entire family gathers and it means more interaction than normally. Also, there's no TV there (intentional), and very limited internet (we could do something about it, but won't).
Been home since Wednesday evening, the girls are off school all week, DS is not, so DH was working from home yesterday while I went to the office, and it's the other way round. Visited my grandma, who celebrated her 92nd birthday yesterday - it's not going to be long now. The family has decided to take her home from the hospital, luckily one of my cousins is a nurse and another is a doctor, so there's enough medical professionals in family to oversee her care. She had a rough night and slept the whole time I was there. But I was told she did remember I visited in the hospital, so there's that. I do feel a bit guilty as apparently she was sharing the yearly family photos I was sending her all the years with other members of the family (there's a very complicated relationship there for a lot of reasons), but there's nothing more I could do about it now. I will try to stop by next week, though.
For the time being, I got work I need to do for payroll (even if I did three hours of unplanned overtime yesterday - with the grandma run and grocery run, I didn't get home till 9pm), and a house that's mildly disastrous and a party to plan for for Sunday. But sure I can do it, right?
