Frame the Day Friday PWYC

To use a home construction metaphor, framing is building out the shape, the underpinning, the walls and structure of the home; leaving details, the electrical, plumbing, other systems, for later. After we moved into this house, there was construction all around for a couple of years. We watched foundations poured, then the house framed out and roofed so the rest could be constructed inside.
When you look at the calendar, routines, and your task list or PODA, use those to build the big outline of the day. But you never know when you'll have the change order - when something has to be redone, moved, fixed, rethought, so keep that in mind! We all have those unexpected change orders.

Thank you for Friday's fantastic start Twins' Mom!!
I can handle a change quickly. For example, if I am driving and I miss the street I needed to turn at, I pull into the next driveway , and go back to where I need to be. I know some people that will drive in the direction they are going for another 10 or 15 driveways, or the next street or a nearby store parking lot and then go back to where they should have turned.
Same thing at home. I can stop what I'm doing and deal with the change in plans quickly, without fussing over needing to stop one thing and adjust to the other thing. I don't know when I "learned" this but it might be because it bugged me when my BFF would seem to become frozen with indecision even when we were small children.
I have started the beef stew and right now I just have to add the potatoes.

The framework of my day is "getting ready for houseguests/busy weekend." DH has college frat brother, whom I've never met, coming through this weekend. He'll be here this evening and will head out sometime on Monday. I have the guest bedroom close to ready. Will swish and swipe toilet and counters up there later. Roomba going in guest bedroom for first time ever. We'll see how that goes. AND I'm getting my workroom, as I've decided to call it, ready for dd to arrive tomorrow and sleep there.
This has been sitting forever. Roomba upstairs has been rebooted, dirt bin cleaned (it can't return to the base from there) and I spilled dirt on the bathroom rug so that has to be cleaned up.
I'm heading upstairs to straighten up workroom some more. Will run roomba there later but need to get the floor clear. Not sure when I should change sheets on that bed, the dog wants to get on it and remake it to her liking.

frame the day - perfect metaphor for today! thank you d twins. Also before I forget - have a wonderful time with your dd and your visitor!

mom's meds done
my meds not done
ordered my mom underneath cotton teeshirt - short sleeve and no sleeve for under her sweaters, mittens, and cotton turtlenecks from the Vermont store.

A lovely early morning here.
A good, happy breakfast. Dishes were already away and counters neat then. Laundry spinning, too.
While eating and having my tea, very much enjoyed a YT video of a quilt project collaboration between a favorite maker of mine and his mother. Is there better entertainment than that? (smile)
Next laundry load in while I mopped the master bathroom floor.
I intended to post at 10, but HRH had me looking up restaurants. We didn't get to eat out yesterday, so he wants to do that today. I think we'll do Mexican.
He called both my older children yesterday and talked to them, this following an email I sent into a chain they had going about Christmas get-together and problems with that. Ds called me mid-day to get me to check on his email response. Ddolder called me last evening and we had a good chat. My children are wordy and specific, wonder where they get that. They are also irritating. That's their dad, lol.
Dd27 says she's definitely coming to see us Sunday. We probably won't get to see dsonil at the same time, because it is his sister's bday.

Glad you like the theme for today, bw2! I'm finding myself working and I keep saying like LadyM "next up," "next up," but never seem to get clear of that phrase. Testiness this a.m. with dh over costco list and interruptions. When my mind is echoing "next up," sometimes an interruption just does me in.
I'm finally having my brunch. I think I probably should work from a timer and give myself specific breaks. I'll restart at :15 after the hour and go to TOTH if anyone wants to go with!

I slept in till day lite here today.
Did my planning and journaling.
Had to re-date my planner for this month that was a frustration.
Oh well it's done now.
QT was listening to last week's sermon.
Sort of waiting on a text back from DD who's not that best at responding
about dgd's bday card where to mail it or leave it for her to pick up.
I need to get dressed. Had bfast.
Hoping to get in gear in a bit.
At least I'm feeling better slowly getting around head has cleared out.
We had wind that work me in the night 4 ish thankfully I was able to get back to sleep.
Things look fine here.
I wish my mood was better it's just sort of regular, but at least it's better than
yesterday so improvement is good.
Did better on my balance challenge while coffee is brewing.

TOTH here. I finished kitchen clean up, started the dishwasher, and folded the sheets for our king bed - washed yesterday. I've worked on straightening up work room for roomba to run, since I cancelled the last job (in MBR, it had run forever tho) it wants to return to its docking station. And it's not recognizing it.
Ah, now it's docked again. No, it's not communicating. Once I resolve that I'm going to let it charge for a bit before I start it upstairs in workroom and hall and see how it does. And there's a couple of dogs roaming the neighborhood so dMillie is quite "disturbed."
No rest. Where's my break!
