Tortuga Bay is a beautiful and isolated beach located on the south side of Santa Cruz Island. Sea turtles use the white and soft sand for nesting, hence the name “Tortuga Bay.”

Marine Iguanas, brown pelicans and Sally Lightfoot crabs populate the beach, which is next to a brackish lagoon surrounded by the typical coastal vegetation of the islands; cacti, salt bushes and Palo Santo (Holy Stick) trees.

This site is perfect for relaxing and swimming or snorkeling in the calm waters of the nearby cove, walking along the beach or just taking in the magical landscape. Tortuga Bay is probably the most popular beach of the Galapagos Islands and one of the main attractions of Santa Cruz.

Good morning, SHE-ville, and sending good errands vibes, kittykatt!

So, I have to work from home today, because I need to take DS for a whopping cough test. I mean, my week was already bad and this is certainly not helping. But of course, the bigger problem is DS being very upset by the school requiring him to be chaperoned at almost 15, because what 15 year old wants that kind of treatment! I just feel a lot of times all I do is jump through hoops and yet it's never enough. But all I can do is put one foot in front of another and just continue. So, after having a rather very unproductive evening yesterday, I will try to have a productive morning as we need to leave at 11 to get to hospital on time.

Ugh, trissie. I know the possible whooping cough and the school requirement (that has got to really affect DS) is not what you need in your life now - or any time. Hoping it's not the whooping cough. I did read your comment yesterday and wondered if the power nap helped your outlook. Did you have a productive morning?
I hope church and lunch were enjoyable, Kitty!
Enjoy your walk outside, L Ann. Maybe it's sunny where you are like it is here!

I'm up and at 'em a bit earlier than yesterday -- but that's not saying much. LOL! The sun is just rising, and the skies are clear! The snow has all melted. It's going to be a beautiful day. There's a forecast high of 51F today. On Saturday, it is forecast to get up to 64F (17.8C) - crazy! But good crazy! :D

Yesterday, prep for payroll in the morning took longer than I thought - of course. And then I was in class 1:30 - 3:30. I managed to grade most of the exams while the slower students were finishing. After class, I chatted a bit with AC, and then ran a couple errands - post office to put those snail mail bills in the mail. And then WF to pick up ingredients for dinner. I decompressed for 1.5 hours - too long - and then made dinner - pasta with homemade tomato sauce and roasted cauliflower. Dh showed up with Fable! So, that was a bit of extra activity. Dd27 picked her up around 9:10 pm.

I've been very inefficient with my groceries this week. I've struggled to find a good 2 hour block of time to make the big trips (I get different items from 2 different grocery stores) through to put away. I will do a Kroger order - or trip - today for ingredients I need for dinner tonight and tomorrow night. Saturday is CG, and Sunday is scripted - rotisserie chicken, GF bread, and GF pizzas.

Today: There are no meetings or appointments or get togethers on my calendar. This happens rarely, so I'm delighted! I need to remind myself that this doesn't mean I can just sit at home and do nothing. LOL! There are plenty of things I need to do. I need to: get groceries, do significant exercise, do towel laundry, get in a deeper cleaning for the dinner party tomorrow night, make some phone calls, and close the payroll loops - finish grading and updating gradelink. I might spend some time with dh working in a coffee shop too! :) Dinner will be either kima or tacoes.

Next:
- some qt
- back exercises
- dress to exercises

Later:
- s2s and self care
- make the bed
- reclaim the kitchen
- towel laundry: w d f pa
- gym: cardio
- go for a long walk in the sunshine (at some point)
- payroll: finish grading exams
- payroll: update gradelink
- Kroger (order or trip?)
- put away groceries
- lunch
- progress on phone calls: window dude,
- tidy living areas
- dust living areas
- s/s main bathroom
- coffee shop with dh - write 1 hour
- dinner: kima and rice (or tacoes), salad
- after dinner clean up
- duolingo
- update health apps

TaDas!
- up and weighed self - same
- coffee
- email deletions + weather website

helia, the nap helped me survive till evening, and I perused the stash of frozen (homemade) foods for dinner (I've started making doubles or just taking the time to prep even simpler meals for freezer when I have time and energy, and boy, does it feel good on bad or busy nights to just pull out a box of stew or something and only fix the sides!), so there's that. I challenge you to do the shopping run today! I will be doing the same.
are you really up to scrubbing floors already, L.Ann?

I did have a productive morning, though it was a good show of why I am always behind - the edits I thought would take 30 minutes tops ended up being a 3 hours task. But I realized that there are more law requirements for the process than we knew and had to update everything.
There was some mess-up with DS14's tests, because the hospital that made us an apt for today called that they didn't have the test kits, and referred us to another place and by that time it was easier to just go to the pediatrician whose office hours today were from noon and so their labs won't be sent out till tomorrow morning (which was the reason they wanted us to get tested elsewhere to not lose time). So we should hear back on Saturday. I just don't want to deal with anything or anybody anymore! Do you think the wolves would take me in if I wanted to run away with them? :-)

Good morning!
kitty ~ me, too! Sending vibes!
trissie ~ so sorry... I feel for ds. I'm sure it's quite humiliating in front of his friends. Would be nice if something else could be worked out. Yikes! whooping cough, that doesn't sound good. I've had viruses that sure felt like whooping cough, but wasn't. I've strained ribs and been to the ER for bronchitis. No matter what, they all feel terrible. Hope he feels better soon. p.s... I'm not sure wolves could handle you. ;) 8-)
L.Ann ~ dang, supper sounds good!
helia ~ snow is all gone here, as well. We're a bit further south than you, so our high is 60º. neener...neener... I"m sure Bama would one-up me by a long shot.

G made it to the NC house last night. I didn't have a very productive day yesterday, but hoping to gain some ground today.
QT is done, bed made, morning TLC. Ready to move on .....
physio and gym prep next. Off to flybys for cyber hiny kicks. :D

I'm in on the grocery shopping challenge! My pantry list is low, so that's what I'm going after today.

Just to clarify - DS isn't really poorly, but he does have a weird (for him) cold and yesterday I learned that there was a child just diagnosed with whooping cough in his class, so there was exposure. And this is a tricky illness, because the first stage looks like an ordinary cold, and that's when the antibiotics work really great and take care of it (and also this is the stage when you're REALLY contagious). When the more obvious second stage, with its horrendous and specific cough, comes, the antibiotics don't work all that great anymore, because the damage to the airways was already done.
So, I'd very much want to know if it's just a weird cold, or if it's whooping cough, and I'd like to know it as soon as possible so we could get antibiotics and maybe not get into stage two at all, if you know what I mean!
