Harriet posted really early this morning on the Monday thread and mentioned desk day chores.
My desk "looks" like it's buried in paper! How's your desk?

Harriet also mentioned about overshooting the runway straight into Christmas. I told dh that some people already have Christmas trees up and are decorating before American Thanksgiving. Some are even exchanging Christmas gifts already. This (Christmas gift giving) isn't done here more than a month ahead of time.. Lots of craft shows and church bazaars are already happening.
I've had my a.m. dose of meds, so I have 12 hours until the next pill.
Dh isn't up yet, so I'm going to stitch.

Cathy, one of my neighbours has her tree up and lit (although not decorated yet!). The city centre is, of course , full on Christmas already. I usually decorate in stages, depending on the weather - I don't want to stand out in the rain winding fairy lights round the porch

- but usually sometime after the first week in December.
This morning I took Freddie to the vet for his boosters , and we hit a new level of embarrassment. The practice had a photographer there, getting pictures for the updated website, and he wanted a dog and a cat to photograph. There were plenty of personable well behaved dogs to choose from, ... and Freddie. There was no way anyone was taking Fred out of his carrier as we'd never get him back in without bloodshed,

so the photographer tried through the bars of the carrier, and ended up with a picture of Fred's wide open mouth with all his teeth in a perfect snarl.

Not very welcoming for prospective customers! The photographer then took offence at Freddie, and blamed his model and said black cats are difficult to photograph, which is true, but Freddie is black and white, which gives a very good contrast, and he's quite easy to photograph ,
when he is in a good mood.
Freddie's actual appointment passed off without incident. We saw his usual vet , who is used to Freddie, and quite unfazed by the growling, hissing and feline swearing!
Since I've been home I've been for a short walk and done a little in my garden. Time to face the housework!

Oh my - we have several homes already decorated with outside lights for Christmas and they have them on! Was talking to HOA prez on Sunday p.m. about it, in one case he had to remind people to take Halloween down and a close neighbor had Christmas lights going the same evenings. During my late afternoon walks, I can see that several homes have lighted Christmas trees up too. I wish I could find the meme I've seen about the Thanksgiving's "War on Christmas."
Well, I'm reminded that I should do some HOA accounting stuff today. I should go to the post office first to see what's in the box there, tho. And wash my car while I'm out too. Long day, with dh out tonight, and I have no appointments or otherwise need to leave the house. Tomorrow we go to Sevierville TN to see dh's niece and family. That will be a full day out. And I may be driving for the trip so I'll gas up the car also. May be some roads that promote car sickness along the way?
Cloudflare outage is affecting most of the home blogs I read. Of course, this time of the year they're most Christmas, and I have little interest there.
One of the parts of desk day is checking bank accounts and the two credit card accounts that I pay. Going to start on that now. Need to get my mind ready to tackle HOA stuff...And I need to do two of the Sunday tasks that are still undone.
And it appears the outage is affecting my little Remember the Milk app. It's totally unsatisfying when I can't check things off, lol!

Dh and I have had our coffee and hot chocolate. We talked about supper for tonight and tomorrow night. (lasagne and cottage rolls) Our plans for today. The "lack of wind, therefore it's a good burning day", turned into me getting dressed and taking stuff out to burn. Dh also got dressed and came out to help. We also took out some garbage for the bins. Working together we got everything outside and brought in some frozen stuff and a 6 pack of Sprite for me.
Also plan on going to Chapters as there are 3

books being released today that I might be interested in. J. Patterson has at least one and Kathy Reichs has Evil Bones coming out. I still have money on my gift card.
Nothing like the smell of a wood fire with leaves burning in the back yard. My hair smells smoky, but in a nice way.

It's totally unsatisfying when I can't check things off,
I agree!
Trash was gathered and taken to the road without last minute urgency to beat the trash truck as it comes down the road. Instead, it was there an hour before the deadline.
I have a day without any appointments on the calendar. I crave the comfort of having a predictable day with no drama or surprises. Bonus would be staying at home for the entire day, but that doesn't happen because of taking DD14 to/from school.
I added another curriculum to DS17. He isn't thrilled but is handling it. We are both doing the countdown to end of homeschooling.
Next up -
** prepare breakfast for my carb loving DH...hum....will be biscuits, pancakes or bagels?
** make a batch of breakfast cupcakes - ham, egg, cheese
** prepare tea for the day

Remember the Milk is back and I'm moving again. Dh decided that today is the day that he HAS to take the Medicare insurance for the Jewish Federation. They will look at your scrips and plan etc. and make recommendations...
Since I'm already off today (and in a mood after doing that with him asking, are you done yet? repeatedly!) I'm going to go on out for those three errands. Perhaps then I'll settle down to work. (And RTM is down again.)
