What do you need to do today?

What do you want to do today?

I did all the dishes last night. Today is a day to look around the house at other things I have been putting off. Like dusting! I dusted the living room this morning and the shelves in the hall. I didn't move any books, but I did move other things.

Dh is ready for his coffee.

what I am looking at:
family room: one dog took a pillow and made it go ka-plooey - fluff all over the place.  ;) put mom's shelves in the front room/living room.
the dining room needs work - putting the presents downstairs - finish mom's room
finish hanging christmas lights in frontroom/living room.

take dh to his dentist appointment - that will be two hours- helper and dd's will be here - mom is having another couple of days of not doing well.

we have to leave at 8:45

I told dh that I will have a happiness zone bubble around me today - he had started to complain and nope earlier this morning - real matters are something I will listen to; but fluff and stuff are not part of my bubble today. ;) He smiled but he still kind of fussing and sounding a bit grumpy. ignoring.

I actually am happy - I felt like I got a lot done yesterday!

time to get ready:
s2s
my meds
mom's meds set up
get mom's cloths together

birthday card for aunt in Texas
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Good morning, Cathy and all! Hope everyone dances their way through a terrific day.

lucylee, getting in sync with everybody else presupposes everybody else is right. It is to laugh. However, the phone still rings on the "everybody else" schedule and door knocks come then and appts are scheduled then. I can't remember which prof. when I took the nutrition course said we're all using our alarm clocks wrong. They should be set for an evening hour that will give us enough time to prepare for bed at the time of our choosing/decision.

Oh my, blessed. A ka-plooey pillow. One of the reasons I resist making handmade items for actual use. My idea of use is sometimes not another's idea. HRH doesn't think a potholder has been valuable until it has spaghetti sauce on it, and he speaks English. So, sweet dog - not your fault that human women don't understand the higher, better use of pillows.

It is Errand Day. An actual grocery trip on the horizon, for instance. We thought about going quite early, but waited until the rain let up. Probably by the bank.

I went through 1 drawer in my dresser. It is full of scarves. Not winter ones, really. Polyester/silk/cashmere and an alpaca one from Peru. Those kinds of scarves. Decorative around the neck on a cruise ship type of things. Now I have a short pile of these for donation. One of them is mohair and wool. UGH! What was I thinking? It's bright pink. I've never worn it, so out it goes. Another one is orange with purple. Ugly. I've never worn that one either, so it's going.

Dh says he isn't feeling well, so he's back on the bed playing on his phone. It's overcast here today.

Good morning! I've already been out once today -- DD was laminating the Thanksgiving placemats her aftercare kids have made, and she ran out of the paper, so off it was to the store for some clear shelf paper. DD went in to the store; I sat in the car and checked the store's website to see if they carried the stuff. DD got back to the car thinking she was out of luck just as I had learned that they did indeed have it, and it was on aisle 10! So she went back in again and came out triumphant. Placemats are all laminated now.

Thinking of LadyM's family and all their errands today -- two funerals in one day! Cannot be easy.

Cathy is cooking with gas! Look at her go!

Hoping blessed's happiness bubble stays strong. What a wonderful idea!

Like Harriet, we have a grocery trip planned for today, but a small one. (I need to get going on that if I want DD to come; soon it will be time for her lunch and then work.) Then a trip to the drugstore; the store we were at earlier is also a drugstore, in part, but they don't carry the pads I need.

Your pumpkin custard sounds great, Nancy!

Not much on the agenda today except the shopping. Just trying to stick to my new cards. I do need to make a DPC/text to my brother. He usually hosts holidays -- my house is in no condition. I could make the dining room presentable without too much difficulty, but there's nowhere to sit in the living room. Anyhow, he hasn't said anything about Thanksgiving, and I hesitate to ask because it feels like inviting ourselves over. However, I need to know what to shop for. If anybody has any advice on how to make the conversation less awkward, I'd be happy to hear it.

DD, bless her, has made me lunch, so I'm going to go enjoy it!

Yes, Mystery, make it a conversation about what you need in order to be as helpful as possible. Do you need to bring (fill in the blank). Do you need to get your LR ready because he would like to ask you to do the inviting this year. Warning - that may be it, and he's had a hard time calling you, while he himself thinks of how he will say it without awkwardness! I'd make it a phone call so you can back-and-forth thoughts quickly and efficiently, but that's just me and I don't know your dbrother at all.

Yes, LadyM's family on my mind today. I did think to myself, how mature of ds17 to attend events with dh, especially funeral. I can just imagine how respectful to a long friendship the community and bereaved family will think that is.

Feel better, Cathy's dh. Cathy, do the kitties follow him and sleep with him?

Hope Ramblin' is feeling better every day.

Our grocery trip was to the very VERY large location of an otherwise normal grocery chain near us. This one was built many years back in the commercial part of an extensive development that is housing further back. And further back from that, really expensive housing. So, I would say the theme is "posh", lol, and not our usual haunts. But my dcousin raves about the store, saying you can find such a large selection but the price won't be different from all their other stores. So, we tried it for the first time in a decade, at least. My goodness, a huge selection. There were really only a few disappointments - frozen section of breads, for instance, was small, comparatively.

But the main reason for detouring - produce - was all fresh, perfectly stocked, extensive. The slightly special choices I wanted to make were easily found. Probably saved us money to get what we actually intended to buy as a first choice, since we're likely to enjoy every bite. My ddad used to say he would rather have a little bit of what he really wanted than the "family size discount" on a disappointment.

It was not an easy trip, though, since a more distant drive, and quite the walk inside, too. HRH didn't feel his best and decided that other errands just weren't important enough to do, even drive-throughs, and we came home. So, Errand Day will be upcoming again, maybe Monday. That's okay. We can "rotate" Errand Day like other days, especially now that we're a two-person household.

Oh, and I found Peppermint Swiss Miss hot chocolate packets, because, you know, healthy. :)
