Do you have an ugly Christmas sweater? Today's the day to wear it with pride! Does it match your Friday Conga Day hat with stuff hanging on it? Even better!!
Describe your sweater if you have one!
Let's have some fun on the second last Friday of December 2025!!

Hi! I donated my Christmas sweater last year. Maybe it was the year before. Because it was red, I always wore it over a plain white top. Because it was chenille yarn, the fluff from the sweater would be all over the top when I took the sweater off. Now I wear a green turtleneck instead. Boring, but no chenille fluff all over me.
It's pouring rain here. That is okay as long as the temperature stays above 0 Celcius/32 F.
I did the litter boxes last night, so all I really need to do this morning is dishes. First I have to unload the dishwasher. There are some frying pans from last night's breakfast for supper. Fried eggs, fried onions with the potatoes from the night before, toast and bacon.
Last Friday afternoon knitting group today. I have some store bought peanut brittle that I will be putting in a Christmas cookie tin. IF it doesn't freeze, I want to go to the place where I know I can buy some home made fudge and get some of that as well. If I can't get there, that's okay too.
Other errands will include mailing cards to DMIL and DSIL.
I would also like to get the island cleared off and thoroughly wiped.

Ha, ha, ha, ha
Does it count to tell about the VERY one I'm wearing right now before knowing anyone expected a description? It is not meant to be humorous, but my daughters look at me wearing it and say, ".... mother...". And their faces are humorous.
It's a green - that counts as seasonal, right? An old, comfy that is very difficult for me to admit no longer has style. At least, not style that one might attribute to this millennium. The white, dark pink and dark green design is done in mini dots of paint faux embroidery.
Another funny might be the black with parrots and hibiscus (?) one I brought home from Goodwill with a partially-formed idea of being creative. Most humorous thing about it is that is a "small", so will become a complete remake, probably fusing the images in squares onto a tote or something.
Elizabeth is thought of with Cathy's cheerful theme today.
blessed, I have been thinking of your dmother with her A-fib concerns. High hopes that will have calmed down and leave her alone. The adjustment of metoprolol should make a difference.
Stayed up last night for
laundry (folding HRH's load he left in the dryer) and
one more gift wrapping
but still got in bed well before midnight.
Very good night's sleep.
Today
my own laundry load is up.
The hall floor needs some mop attention.
Dreaded Phone Call (s)
Oh, no, blessed! (((ddyounger and blessed household)))

Thank you for getting us started today, Cathy! I don't have an ugly Christmas sweater and don't even have an ugly Hanukkah sweater. I think dd has several.
Yesterday I got dh's "Oy to the World" apron with his name and title "Latke King" ready for the temple latke cooking extravaganza beginning this afternoon. I made a reservation to go and eat dinner but honestly I'm not sure I'll do it. I'll probably go for the service (we all light menorahs in the sanctuary), get a plate of latkes, and take off. Way way too many people, and dh is serving and accepting compliments and busy so he doesn't sit with me anyway. I recall last year he insisted he wanted me to go, I saved him a seat, and then I don't think he ever sat down with me.
I also have a Zoom with my mentee. She may have turned in her portfolio this week. If so, it's our last meeting unless we want to do another when she receives results and comments. This was supposed to have been a six-month gig - she was supposedly motivated to turn in by last 31 Dec and here we are, lol. But I wasn't much different, lol.
I need to change out of pajamas and walk ddog.
Oh no, bw2, I hope your dd is okay and your dmom and the rest of the household doesn't get it!

HRH wonders if we can have "Christmas Lasagna" when family comes.
(he made this name up)
Um... .. I know my lasagna would disappear and find all smiles with the generations, and I know he would like it more than what others are probably bringing, But this kitchen is small. Must think. I told him, even when all finished with the work, that will take up half the stove top to serve.

Good morning
I do have an ugly Christmas sweater that is only worn once a year for the Ugly Christmas Sweater contest. I absolutely know that I won't win, but it is more about wearing it to join in the fun.
DD14 is sick but handling it well. I have a COVID test on hand, but I’m not testing her since the results wouldn’t change what we’re already doing. I canceled her physical therapy appointment for today. She can’t see DD48 until she’s feeling better to avoid the risk of passing germs to DSonIL, who is battling cancer.
Blessed - when you shared about your DMom afib episode, I thought of a conversation that I recently had with our family doctor. We discussed the benefits of wearing an apple or fitbit type smart watch. I don't know if all models record afib but the one the doctor wears and that I bought for DH does. These watches give alerts of irregular heart rhythm and can do ECG's. I don't know if your DMom would benefit from wearing a smart watch but just wanted to mention it. As a person who loves technology, I find that capability in a watch fascinating and easy to monitor.
3 things for today -
** order DS17 acne meds
** think through planner organization. I watched some utube about putting reason for use on a sticky note and decide where that information will be kept in planner. I enjoy reading about Nancy designating a planner purpose.
** Buy letter beads for DD14. She loves making jewelry and is running low on vowels.

Harriet we've had Stoffer's Easter Lasagna, that could work I learned to get the smaller individual size as the big ones
take away to long to cook! YOU CAN STEAL my "recipe"!
I have 5 Cmas that could count for ugly I try to wear one a week.
I've thrifted over the years button or zip front. Blue for after and teal,
the vest I made this past fall, a red white and black one that it's good enough for church,
and a green and read one it works with red and black pj's. I try to mix it up this month!
Just for fun!
Today learned Dgson that did our roof is with out power thankfully he was lifting with his granny
who just went in the nursing home. He and his wife have been doing candle lite dinner's and card
games. Not to worried about them as they could use his dad's pull trailer if needed.
I'm sore today it's rained in the nite so a day to recoup is in order.
Dump trash today's goal.

Time for the big reveal! (lol, it's just time to chat about what decisions we're making for 2026 planners and other paper scheduling)
New 2026 thread in the Organizational Tools and Skills Forum below.
Planners are the annually re-addressed aspect of our potential scheduling, more than most others. The Cardfile, the Basic Weekly Plan, etc., may go on for indefinite periods without purchases or changes, but Planners of all kinds need end-of-year/beginning-of-year thought.
