Well, as far as I am concerned, the new travelling rules make USA a place I am not likely to visit. Kinda pity, a week in New York was on my list (Broad Way shows and The Metropolitan Museum of Art and I'd be a happy camper), but I am not giving up the privacy of my children or making my social networks public under my real name, thank you very much, I've had a real life dangerous stalker and I prefer my name to NOT be searchable! But there's plenty other lovely locations for me to explore - my original plan was London, but since I will do a minitour of London with DS in June, I am exploring other options. My obvious choice should be Rome or Athens (I will never get over my love of antiquity as an era, and Renaissance art of the Italian school), but I fear it may be too hot in August? Madrid, maybe, but the Spanish Renaissance is not my favourite, and let's not even get into the Flemish Renaissance school, I kinda have a strong dislike of that one, though Amsterdam is home to the Van Gogh museum!
I kinda really love how finally being able to visit world museums made me aware of what I enjoy in art and have preferences. My first big solo trip, the Vienna one last year, helped me discover what I like to do (visit history sites and museums) and what I don't care about (eating in fancy restaurants, shopping, and bars), and this year's Paris just cemented the very specifics (antiquity art yes, medieval paintings no, but architecture yes, rennaisance art from Italy yes, impressionism yes, modern arts no)

It's happy thoughts that keep me afloat, so... bear with me!
L.Ann, a Cirque de Solei type of Christmas show is definitely a yes on my list!
