Before I went to bed last night, I did all of the dishes. I also sorted out a hotspot in the bedroom. Dh wanted the "coat" tree in the corner thinned out a bit, if possible. So that looks better now.
Other than putting away a bunch of clean dishes from the dishwasher and putting away everything in the dish tray beside the sink, I don't have anything to do.
There are calendars to take down and new ones to put up. I will also have a menu planning calendar in the top right drawer of my desk, a housework calendar in the top right and a "school exercise book" on the desk to keep track of stuff about dh. If there is going to be PSWs coming and going, I want to be able to keep track of that.
The youngest cat went outside for a while. Dh let her out, so I don't know how long she was out. When I opened the door, she came running in from the driveway.
Dh is still sleeping. I'm having a hot chocolate. The sun is shining. I foresee a lot of reading today.

I have the new page up on my calendar.
I have new journals to start and comp. notebooks for projects
they got full last week but I waited to start the new ones until today.
Up late till eleven then up at three ish to let doggo out & stayed up.
Did some reading and took notes.
Put new notes pages in my planner as I used up the others.
My kitchen could use some attn.

I need to get into the shower, we'll be leaving in an hour for today's two social commitments. I've done a good part of a.m. routine, probably won't finish in the next hour but we'll see. I'm not eating breakfast since first occasion is brunch of hoppin' john and Brunswick stew. It may be that dh is walking ddog since he showered first.

Good morning, 2026!
We stayed up for midnight, but watched nothing like that on tv. Heard the noises and I thought of ((Twins' Mom's and others' dear puppies)). HRH was dismayed to be hearing gunshots as well as fireworks, commenting on intelligence level required to pull triggers and forget gravity. Ahem.
Year-end and year-beginning things continued yesterday. Always the hardest part at automated types of "places" is proving you are not a robot - makes you feel indignant. If the computer doesn't want you to be a robot, how come a robot would understand the smushed-together audio and the ridiculous smushed up lettering better than humans?
Enjoy first-footing, sweeping out the old and in the new, having nutritious beans and greens (smile), and making sure to do a bit of the things you hope to do all year long.

I agree with your dh- we had neighbors that were questionable re: keeping themselves alive and making poor decisions - guns were always going off. (so true about forgetting about gravity!!!)

I am very thankful for being able to come here and read your posts. It is gravy on the top of my morning doings.
I have spent some time getting the rest of the yearly and monthly spreadsheets and templates set up this morning. That has put me a tiny bit behind on my hourly doings, but there is extra time built into the hourly pathways so I will eventually catch back up. Since everything is clearly laid out it doesn't seem stressful because I don't have to remember that things have been left undone.
Extras done this morning -
** Fill DH monthly medication containers
** fill DS17 and DD14 weekly medication containers
** Create daily journal template for January
** Create daily tracking worksheet (mostly just copied from 2025 and tweaked it a bit)
** Print monthly papers for DH to track his health stats
I have one more extra thing to get done before I can fall back into the groove of hourly doings. I need to get DS17 vehicle added to our insurance.

I was going to make chicken soup but the shopper bought me an over dated chicken - I hope it wasn't on purpose to get rid of old product.
started on two loads of laundry -
working on mom's laundry now.
played with dogs
I had an all day migraine-yesterday I slept on and off all day with Tylenol breaks.... bad thing is that day's helper let mom lay in bed awake - it didn't help me that mom was up until at least midnight and woke at 6 am. (or earlier). I shouldn't complain bc I couldn't help or insist that she talk with mom or keep her busy. I am grateful that mom was safe even though not
this week: work on things to keep mom's brain busy -
