It is a new month and we can start all over again!!!
Last month was hard for me, and we will still be traveling for about 3 weeks in October. We have been eating in restaurants almost all the time. I'm trying to make good choices - salads and non-fried. Can't wait until I can cook most of the time.
My goals are: Stay between 1,100 and 1,200 calories, walk 6 days per week for at least 3/4 hour to 1 hour, do strength building exercises on M, W, & F, belly busting exercises on T, R & S. Blood Sugar is
+/- points from goal. Weigh in every Thursday. Sundays are a
Day Of Rest (
DOR) from exercising.

Hmmm ... ... isn't that a new impressive number on the waistline, Emptynester? Congrats! That makes clothes fit so much better and is a real confidence booster - even better than weight loss. Dh should be raising his eyebrows by now - I know he's happy for you.
I expect to have more of the walking video workout (which is strenuous enough - also T-Tapp) in my line-up this month and fewer of the varied bending ones until dr and I are satisfied about my tummy woes. I think I probably overdid it with such a long tough straight-through workout Tuesday (although for the rest of thaat afternoon, I felt maaavelous) and have decided on days off for Wed, Thurs.

Yep. and only 4 more inches to go to be at the "waist = 1/2 of height" formula. I'm hoping to be a bit smaller than that as that measurement is 2 times what my waist was in my 20s. Of course, that was back in the 50's when everyone had a small waist.
I am carrying most of my weight in my belly so, since I have about 50 more pounds to go, I'm hoping I lose a lot more. At least, I'm hoping I won't look PG any more.

Hmmm, I thought I posted my weight, etc in this log, but obviously posted it in the regular thread for October.

So will start over here -at least it was only one day!
I'm going to weigh each day for a while -think I need to do that to keep me on top of it.
Fri, Oct 2 - 174, BS - +43
Sat, Oct 3 - 173.6, BS - +34 (this even after a day of GOOD eating. I'm thinking more and more my weight has a LOT to do with it).
Sun, Oct 4 - 174.4, BS +44 -this is NOT a good trend -hopefully tomorrow will be better -too much party food yesterday

Mon, Oct 5 - 175.2, BS +61 -this is absolutely unacceptable. Sure some of it is due to lack of exercise over the weekend.

Dee - as you can see - my BS has been all over the place. Mostly high. I think it is the moon.
No, I know mine is from eating out. AND from letting myself get too hungry and then stuffing anything and everything I can find into my mouth. Yesterday, I got smart and packed good snacks to take along with us in the truck. And I got the results I wanted - back in the green.
Yesterday, I had an apple and some string cheese packed plus a small ham sandwich and a can of diet Dr. Pepper. (Breakfast was a bowl of Shredded Wheat and Bran.) I was able to stave off the hungries for the whole 6 1/2 hour trip. Then heated up some left over chili with a small glass of milk. When I still wanted something at night - I drank water. AND IT WORKED!!!

Now to do it more often.

BS sugar crashed #56 yesterday in the afternoon after lunch
then spiked #284 [ the highest I've had for quite a few months
before bed sigh for no apparent reason no cake or
unusual treats to account for it. But today has not been
such a roller coaster yea maybe it was a hormonal flux.

Nancy, I am such a believer that hormones can do so much to get us off track. I'll just bet that's it.
I am disappointed not to be able to post exercise log entries here right now.
I have been doing the back stretch of my workout almost every day, though, and also keeping up with most other healthy habits. For the past few days, the flu (which I don't exactly have
) is leaving me without much energy. I think this is party because I'm "fighting off something" and partly because the energy I do have is taken up running errands for others who do have flu and need some attention right now. So at least there's a lot of walking going on, and I think the acid reflux is better, so as the family comes out of this tough health week I'll be back.
