Count up those Ta Da medals today, gold, silver and bronze! How many can we earn as we go about the day?

Litter boxes are done! That might get a gold for having all 3 done on the same day and within the same hour!

Another piece of news...

Appliance repair company is coming to (hopefully) fix the leak.

Good morning

Question - Do you personally know someone who has (or is) training for the Olympics? If so, what challenges have they faced? What is different about them from others in their same age group?

For a period of time, DGS18 was in training hoping to qualify for the Olympics. He eventually stopped the training for a variety of reasons, however the person he was training with has continued. That person is the boyfriend of DGD15. His schedule is strict and rigid with every moment dedicated to a purpose so he can accomplish all the hours of training necessary. His parents have the financial resources to support his training & travel requirements. I find myself wondering about the huge support system behind each athletic in their years of training to be in those few moments of spotlight in the Olympics.

LadyM back when I was still working I knew numerous paralympians (sp?) A sledge hockey player, a bocce player who also threw discus and a retired basketball player who had won a medal. (She broke her back after she won the medal). There was also another basketball player. Both of them were in wheelchairs. They were all amazing and spent a lot of time at their sport(s).

PSW has come and gone.

We are having turkey thighs for supper.

Good morning!

The laundry relay is half over; things are tumbling nicely, but it'll be a while till they're ready to be handed off to folding.

DC is at school, and I just realized that the gold-medal curling game starts just as I'll be heading out to pick them up. :(

Waiting to come out of our street on the way to drop DC, we saw a bus go down the boulevard with "Emergency" "Call 9-1-1" where the route name and number normally would be. DD called, but our route turned away from the bus route. We did see it stop and let someone off, so hopefully it wasn't a case of violence. DC suggested it might be a medical emergency, which had me even more worried, because the dispatcher wouldn't know to send an ambulance. Unsettling, at any rate. I hope all ended well for everyone.

Watching the Great Britain/Sweden curling match for the other day. DH said that at one point, the score was 3-3, but Sweden ended up winning in a blowout, so somewhere along here, they must have had a great end. Fast-forwarding some, but it makes you watch the commercials.

We're almost to 50F (10C) and sunny today, but unlike Cathy, our temperatures will be dipping down again for a couple of days before we get an extended thaw. (At least, so says the forecast.)

I don't personally know anybody in the Olympics, LadyM; one of DH's students won the gold medal in the pole vault many years ago, but most of his serious work had been at the college level. It's been mentioned that our local Olympian went to high school out of town so she could go to a good hockey school.

Just about time to go pick up DC. Have a great afternoon, everybody!

One of my professors in my nutrition courses medaled in a U.S. skating championship and a World championship, but didn't make an Olympic team. Of course, this is someone to whom I was introduced by zoom, lol, so not very close in "degree of separation". I would say he is an optimistic person generally, extremely interested in high-minded things, hoping for the best for others, an open and inclusive professor. Had a supportive family and happy childhood, I think, just from listening to bits of his history.

I've done more cleaning and decluttering in another closet today.
"Storage" week in Focus cleaning.
Swiffering.

In theory, the order for supplies for the upcoming quilt should arrive today, but ya'll know how that is.

It isn't as warm here as it is for Twins', but it's a sunny day. We thought about going out. Actually do have to go out tomorrow, so more likely that we'll put errands off until then.

I've started to post several times and gotten interrupted and then lost posts by inadvertently rebooting. I'm still dealing with issues with the camera uploads in my Dropbox. Last night (while dh was out) I contacted Microsoft support. Today as I'm taking screenshots the issue has resolved itself. So much I don't understand.

I've wasted so much time on this. Managed to get in body work then bank deposit and then two returns. Enough for today. I must work on HOA stuff this afternoon.
