Sorry to steal your thunder for a day, Kittykatt and trissie, but when will we see these three celebrations hit on the same day again? It is Mardi Gras and Chinese New Year all day today (February 17th) and Ramadan starts at sundown. I think that means that the majority of the world's population has something to celebrate today, so let's join in!

Good morning (good night?) Dogged, and thank you for starting us off. I had no idea today was such a momentous occasion! :D

Today DH is WFH, which means searching for vaccination records has to be delayed until this evening. I am convinced that "obsolete" vaccinations dropped off the records when they were digitised - Ive asked DH to check his record o. The NHS app. His DDeparted Mum was a nurse a.d.mine.was.a.lrimary school teacher, so I find it inconceivable that we wouldn't ha e had the measles jab when it became available. Also, although DH grew up in a village,.I grew up in a city, with big classes at primary school, so, anything infectious would have had a field day there, but I don't remember large numbers of kids being off sick, which would have been the case if measles had swept through the class.

I also need to clean downstairs today, a.d I would like to go for a walk and do something in my garden if it's dry. Oh,.and I also need to do d my birth certificate and out marriage certificate -DH needs both of those for claiming his work or pension . Fortunately, I know where both of those are :D He seems to think he has his birth certificate, but I'll keep an eye out for that too.

Wow! It is amazing that those 3 holidays coincide, Doggedly! I was aware of each individually but hadn't put together the fact that they coincided. Actually, I was aware Ramadan started around now but had forgotten the exact date. We track that at work because many of our students will be fasting.
Good luck finding all the documents, Kitty.

I'm up early-ish for me because even though I had an open day yesterday, I didn't finish getting prepped for class. I'll do that next - shouldn't take too long.

My big accomplishments yesterday were: (1) finishing NY cards! This required looking in various locations for some addresses, and I've started a document (finally!) as an address book for those addresses that are hard to find. I only have 2 cards left, though by my count, I should have 5 left. I hope I didn't forget anyone important, (2) getting a birthday card for ddil F written and ready for the mail, and (3) getting clean sheets on the bed. That's about it. I DID do a bit of payroll - a phone call, graded HWs, looked through a checklist I need to edit, and got my brain around what I want to do in class today.

Today: Not much on the calendar other than payroll. Prep this morning, and then I teach AR D2 11-1. I might be doing an assessment interview this afternoon -- not sure. I'll try to go in a little early to payroll to check off the S1 final exams turned in for GGT, and I'll also try to finish the GGT spreadsheet. I also need to jog today because I didn't do that yesterday. Yesterday was warmer and sunnier.

Next:
- payroll: finish prep for AR D2
- some qt
- finish reclaiming kitchen

Later:
- back exercises
- s2s and self care
- gather stuff and otd by 10
- payroll: check S1 final exams
- 11-1 payroll: teach AR D2
- home; lunch
- towels: w d f pa
- tidy MBR
- 15 minutes decluttering

- garbage and recycling gathered and to the curb
- duolingo
- update health apps: WW, MFP, Finch

I had the blood test to check for multiple infectious disease titers when DD33 first got sick, kittykatt and I am covered. Since she is immunocompromised I try to make sure mine are up to date. DD33 had all her vaccinations but they also tested her titers. She is not immune to measles so they gave her the vaccine 2 more times and she is still not immune. If she gets a major exposure she needs to do something special (IVG) I think.

It's also Women's Institute Day. W.I. is international. I know they have numerous W. I. branches in England. It's a rural type of group as it was started for women that lived on farms. I know someone who works at their museum here in Ontario where it all began.

Cathy, lovely to see you!
L.Ann, is a measles exposure something you suspect has happened?
yay for being done with the NE cards, helia!
kittykatt, we had an outbread of measles about 10 years ago (well, outbreak... there were about 500 cases that year), and many of my friends got tested. Eventhough they were vaccinated as children, quite a few of them no longer had the enough antibodies and had to get re-vaccinated.
Dogged, we can definitely stop and observe Mardi Gras, Ramadan and Chinese New Year!

Home from work. We have a reservation for 7pm in a nearby town for my birthday dinner, so I have about 90 minutes before we go. I treated myself to an evening off yesterday, but that just kinda means I have more to do today.

TaDas
- morning madness
- day at work
- menus and shopping list of the ski trip during a boring meeting
- quickie Tesco run
- pick up DBD from school

ToDos
- morning routine
- clean master bathroom

Good morning! Happy “whatever you choose to celebrate” Day!

Thanks for the start, Dogged, and kind words last night.

Trissie, enjoy your birthday dinner and eat all the things!

Hi Cathy! Hi KitKat!

LAnn, I hope the measles stay away from your house. I had to get a blood test when I was pregnant bc my mother said I never had the measles, the test showed I had. I must have been very young bc I don’t remember it and neither did mom.

Helia, yay on finishing a goal with the cards!

Kittykatt, good luck finding the documents. I need to find mine to apply for a passport soon.

Today is also my baby’s birthday! She’s 22 and staying put to party with her friends as she puts it. We may see her this weekend to car shop but she wants to bring a “friend” and I don’t think that’s a good idea. We will be walking car lots, discussing personal information to get approval for a loan, and it just seems a little too much to me. Buy her a car and pay for meals out for 4 plus entertain at the same time? When she makes no attempt to see us other than when she needs something? Plus she isn’t planning any time with us but wants to get with high school friends while here. All in 2 days? We can do a get together another time. I think I hurt her feelings so haven’t heard back from her. Oh well. She wants to act grown so she can act grown on her own, without mom and dad to supply the funding. This part of parenting is hard!

Anyway, on with my day. Book club meeting in 1.5 hours so need to scramble and get dailies done first.

Done:
Weigh
Breakfast - coffee and yogurt logged
Clean floor in living room
Gave cats some canned food so they stop following me
Scooped bathroom litter
Wiped down bathroom
Dogs out, in, fed
Wfd? Pancakes and bacon probably, maybe scrambled eggs
Emails

Do:
Pet chores
Water
