It Couldn’t Be Done

Somebody said that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!
Somebody scoffed: “Oh, you’ll never do that;
At least no one ever has done it;”
But he took off his coat and he took off his hat
And the first thing we knew he’d begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,
Without any doubting or quiddit,
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it.
There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
There are thousands to prophesy failure,
There are thousands to point out to you one by one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle in with a bit of a grin,
Just take off your coat and go to it;
Just start in to sing as you tackle the thing
That “cannot be done,” and you’ll do it.

Morning…
Been to class and was able to have coffee with girls! That hasn’t happened in several months
Off to see Josh to work on my hip then will come home make lunch for Sweetie. Need to run more papers to our tax man and then home to make a few phone calls.

Did not get done list .... some things
inside like sheets
meal plan for dinner needs to happen
I took the morning off.
Did Today
Some knitting.
Worked on organizing the plant cage.
Dead headed 1/2 of another bed, cut off a bloom I did not want in the walk way.
Walked after lunch.
Anti P. task made a call to put last regular utility bill on auto pay. x
Desk duty x
Look for seeds in a recipe card file box that I put away some where looked no success. did it in another area.
Look for gardening books / still to do found some added em to wish list x
Dishes clean kit. sinks x
pay bill x
qt x
journal x
make bfast x
34*the low the next to days dang!

Hi!
I had a really bad night's "sleep" last night. Dh woke me up just after I had fallen asleep because he was trying to give me a one armed hug. After that I was awake until around 5.
I had a small cat wake me up with her meowing just before 8. I got back to sleep and slept until 10:30.
Now dh has had his coffee. By the way, I am quite sure that having 2 bowls of ice cream was a huge part of the reason I couldn't sleep.
It's a very sunny day and I am on the very last daisy doing the fiddly backstitching. I will finish this project TODAY. Finally!
There are dishes to be done and litter boxes to be cleaned. Nope! The backstitching will be done first.

Good morning
Harriet - Thank you for the start today. Love it!
I am slowly.....oh so slowly....climbing out of the low place I was in for a while. Each day i am making progress in adding the daily habits back into action. There are so many things that it takes time to get all of those going again. I am feeling blessed to have the energy, time, focus and ability to do them again.
DH said "when I start driving my pickup again...." ****sigh**** I could have told him that he will probably never drive again but what good purpose would that serve? I try to focus on the basics..."is he safe?" "Is he happy?" As long as those 2 questions are Yes, then let most everything else go. I am finding small jobs that he can do to keep him busy and productive. I gave him Windex and microfiber cloth with a request to clean the full glass storm doors and wash out a garbage pail. He was pleased with himself at a job well done.

I am headed to the allergy doctor, with a stop by the church to sign checks. Stomach still making gurgling sounds and keeping me on edge. Loaded up with Imodium and Bentyl.

I have two free hours this afternoon so am going to use them to get tomato plants. Hopefully. Instead of waiting until the next time I am in the city, I am going to make the 50ish mile drive today. If everything goes smoothly, I might also make a quick stop at Sam's to restock fresh, cold & frozen foods. I have a hard deadline to be back in town by 3:45 to pick DD14 up from school. *POOF*

sent helper home at 10:30 as it is her birthday - we are paying for the day but not having her work as our present to her.
she got mom up and bathed her and dressed her -
we sang happy birthday to her with cupcakes, flowers, balloons, card (all dd older's doing) and sent her home. she was very happy. it's the least we could do. She is going out to a fancy dinner, with her boyfriend, tonight.
I took mom for a walk and met a neighbor and looked at her new part of the house. she is happy
now mom is taking a nap. I am sure it will be short.
