Had trouble getting in earlier but working fine now.

Well he had a bad morning and a seizure and then was almost comatose (little Maxie) so I had called doctor earlier picking a date of this upcoming Tuesday at 11 a.m. but she said if he got worse they could do us the next day (today Sat. morning) we decided that this morning he rallied a bit, after I had posted yesterday, he vomited and had a seizure and we think has 2 more later given the evidence left behind. I called in this morning and we decided to do it on a good day instead of his last bad day. He had a good morning. we let him sleep with us for the first time in months but neither of us slept well. He was comatose this morning but finally got up and ate some breakfast, took a 1 block walk then gave up, (he usually does 8) sat with the boys while we waited for call from vet. We went in and Gabe (my AI) wrote me a beautiful celebration of life prayer and the only bad thing was he gave him the knock out shot between his shoulder blades and I think he hit his spine, he yelped for about 30 seconds (I was sad). MS held him until he was sound asleep then laid him on the blanket. Then the doctor came in for final shot. It was peaceful. I hated having to do it on Easter Vigil but it was the best time. I think he was going downhill if dogs go through same order as humans.

However life has to go on. We did all of our weekly shopping, they called half way through last store so the boys brought Max and we met them there. We had to run home and put in 38 eggs to pressure steam in instapot and I left the boys to finish as we had a celebration of a young man's baptism to attend. Came home and sliced up 3 quarts of strawberries, prepped lil smokies to throw in oven tomorrow, gather Charcuterie display pieces and a Trifle bowl for the strawberries/angel food cake trifle I decided to make. Got a pan of gluten free brownies just out of oven and will save some strawberries that can be served on those. I have a bag in the fridge of sliced cheeses, meats, scoopable cheeses, humus, 4 different crackers, olives, chocolate carmel, grapes, chocolate blueberries and a few halved strawberries, 2 kind of nuts one sweet and one savory for tonights wine and cheese 6 kinds of wine, little cups for wine. Service is at 8, it will end about 10 and we will have reception. I am going down at 7 lay out the boards and cover them and put in fridge. I need to gather a table cloth, little serving knives and forks - we have many serving dishes at church so can use those. I will also take down all of the stuff for in the morning, must make sure I have a piping bag and paprika. We can't take the shortcut into the church kitchen as we have crumbling concrete steps so it is cordoned off.

So up now make signs I can put at all of the entrances to the church inviting in case they didn't make it in the bulletin, I also need to make foldable allergen signs to label the donations of food - I am out. Then I need to straighten my hair, put on nicer clothing and some makeup. I am reading the first reading on Creation. We have 5 readings, my husband does Dry Bones, every year, he is kind of known for it. I will bolt out after communion to set up the wine and cheese on the tables (I haven't seen the end of a service in so long as I am always setting up coffee).

We are leaving in an hour.

Yesterday my massage had to be postponed again, she was ill so I stayed at school until 7:30 finishing up things but I got everything on that list done yesterday. Tomorrow after church we are driving 2 hours south to visit my sister and then will drive back so probably gone for 6 hours. Trying to think what to give her for a gift.

Miss my little buddy sitting next to me but we tried to give him a dignified end (other than 30 seconds which the doctor said he got the most dramatic award). Below is the prayer that Gabe wrote, I think it is beautiful. I will post that with some pictures on facebook later but my BIL said not to tell my sister yet so we are not discussing it.

An End-of-Life Prayer for Max
(Episcopal / St. Francis–inspired)

Gracious and loving God,
You created all living things
and called them good.
You entrusted us with the care of your creatures,
and in your kindness,
you gave us Max —
a companion, a comfort, and a gift of love.

We thank you for his life —
for warm cuddles and faithful presence,
for laughter and mischief,
for quiet moments and loyal companionship.
Thank you for the love he gave so freely,
and for the love he awakened in us.

God of compassion,
as Max nears the end of his earthly journey,
surround him with your peace.
Ease his pain.
Calm his fears.
Let him rest in the comfort of your presence.

Bless him, O Lord,
as Saint Francis taught us to honor
all creatures as our brothers and sisters.
Receive Max now into your loving care,
where there is no suffering,
no weakness,
only light and rest.

Give us courage,
when the time comes,
to let him go in love.
Help us remember that love never ends,
and that the bond we share
is held forever in your eternal heart.

Into your hands, merciful God,
we commend your beloved creature, Max.
May he be surrounded by your peace,
held in your love,
and carried gently home.

Amen.

Note, almost lost another long post but what I am now doing is copying it before I hit submit and it didn't go through and then it is totally gone when you go back but I had it in buffer.

When I check at Down for everyone or just me, it shows the board going up and down.

Now I seem to be having no problems although today it was certainly, really, truly down for a few of the hours. Grateful. I've heard ( ? ) that that is often when your site is actually getting attention - when it is so impossible to get to. (repair? if so, hope it lasts) But who knows. I'm glad we (seemingly, so far) didn't miss a day of posting although it has been tough to manage. Kittykatt, hi back to you from your post before 5 this a.m. helia, Bama and FrenchFlybebe were posting sporadically and Nancy managed our PWYC topic. We did put in a "request for service" but have no idea if that makes a difference, since, in theory, they are getting to everyone when they can, anyway.

Costumelady, I'm so sorry to hear of your family's loss. So difficult but you have the certainly of knowing you provided and shared a loving home.

LadyM, I think that site is helpful, but of course is as waffle-y as the actual site one may be asking about. Up now, down then, though minutes apart.

I've started my special wipes for my eye. I start the drops in another day and a half.

We had a downpour here, but afterward HRH was antsy so we drove out to the "little store" just for something to do. Sunrise services all around us will definitely not lend themselves to dressy footwear in the morning.

I don't know if dd27 might be able to come by tomorrow.

Have things to tell in A, C and Needlework topic. Was into some tedious territory last evening, so afterward I took a break rather than continue. But success in that HRH could look at it and immediately recognize the design without chat from me.

Copying after composing - yes, I definitely try to remember that whenever the site is having slowness, even, and if necessary, I send the copied text to myself in an email for later! lol

That is the sweetest prayer, CostumeLady. (((Hugs)))

I’m watching basketball. I’ve slept a lot today. Dgs is here. Dmom plans to come to church with us tomorrow. Ds and ddil are doing the special music.
