Happy birthday, Rose!
I am up, d2s, did my morning stretch routine, made the bed. I am ready to go out for my haircut --
Plus
-- order flowers for dh's cousin's service
-- get fruit trays for meal at church tomorrow (and misc items I'm running out of)
After that, my day is pretty clear. I've been listening to a webinar on year two of widowhood. No great insights there, just "permission" to feel like you feel. There is no "finish line" to mark when a person is done with grief.
I do not feel like I am struggling, for the most part. I am functioning very well, within my own cocoon. I cannot even imagine a future where I would include someone else, or where I could travel alone (or with others!) I think I am just kinda content with being alone. But when I allow myself to think about this, or to talk about dh, tears do start to flow. So --
I am sorry if I put some clouds in the clear blue skies of our little village. I am going to miss dh's cousin. But I have to smile when I think of all the people who were there to greet her when she arrived in Heaven. DH, a few other cousins, her parents, her best friend. Lots of sadness here, but lots of rejoicing in Heaven.
OH!
I allowed ddil to put me on Life360 with them.

I want to know where they are when they take their big trip to Washington and Gettysburg this summer. So I guess they will have to know where I am now at all times.

I'm not hitting the night clubs or anything like that... but sometimes I still want to stop and visit OG's grave, and it is out of my normal drive -- unless I was on my way to visit daunt. But it's not like I go all the time -- I haven't been there since Christmas, when dmom and I stopped. He was a life-long friend of hers (and her middle school boyfriend) and she had never visited his grave.
