Tatra(s) National Park (Slovak: Tatranský národný park; abbr. TANAP) is one of the nine national parks in Slovakia. It is situated in North Central Slovakia in the Tatra Mountains. The park is important for protecting a diverse variety of flora and fauna, with many endemic species, including the Tatra chamois.

The Tatra Mountains form a natural border between Slovakia to the south and Poland to the north, and both countries have cooperated since the early 20th century on efforts to protect the area. Poland created an adjoining national park, and UNESCO later designated the combined effort a transboundary biosphere reserve.

Tatra National Park was established on 1 January 1949 and it is the oldest national park in Slovakia. In 1987, a section of the Western Tatras was added to the national park.

In 1992 the national park became a part of the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Programme, jointly with the adjoining Tatra National Park of Poland.

Quite frankly, if I had a choice, I would not get out of bed this morning, but since I don't have a choice, here I am!

(((Bama and DH))) What a terrible thing to happen! So glad nothing was broken.

Helia, the day out with friends sounds lovely, but I do understand you feeling irked because they planned it all without consulting you. I think you've found the perfect compromise.

KitKat, I'm glad the appointment went well. I do my best with dressings it have discovered when they do get wet, the hairdryer on a gentle heat sorts that out if they're very wet, otherwise just pattiing with a towel does the job. (I'm lazy and casual about it, but somehow still alive!!! I don't think any of the cats have ever had dressings, except Jude once, when they had to take blood and it wouldn't stop bleeding immediately. My sole contribution there was to take the dressing off 30 minutes after we got home, as instructed by the vet nurse. But, Jude is a Good Girl!)

Yesterday I gave upstairs a good deep clean. The bathroom is now sparkling again, thank goodness. I also dumped all the dead things into the garden bin, and completely cleared the back steps in preparation for painter J. I then had an email from.him to say he's been further delayed and will be in touch the end of this week ( he's getting better at communicating! ). But my hard work is not wasted as the garden bin is emptied today, and will then be ready for me to start filling it again.

This morning, MJ texted at 7 am to say the glass for the patio door has arrived ( I seem to go from one extreme to the other with people doing work round the house! ) but he's doing a kitchen install this week, so maybe the weekend? I thanked him and said Saturday will be fine - he'll let me know. ( MJ is ex- military and also has small kids, so I'm not surprised he's up early!!!! )

Today DH is WFH as usual. It's a beautiful if chilly start, so my plans are a walk, some garden time, some housework and whatever else is in need of doing today!

The sunny start didn't last, and it's clouded over, but it's still dry. For now. Fred has had his walk, and I've decided to do the garden before my walk, so I can put those last few things in the garden bin before it's collected. Other tasks, water the pots and deadheading, and stake that rose.
