It's Finally Friday - this has seemed like the longest week to me, and I've lost track of days. But it's Friday and I have nothing on my schedule. I'm going to CONGA through the house and do what leaves me satisfied in the day.

You may want to, ahem, do better things with your time and conga line.

Hi! Thank you for starting us off today Twins' Mom!!

It's sunny here today, but still on the cold side. BUT! Today's temp is expected to be 20C which is double what we had yesterday. 10C is kind of cold. I went and did a couple errands in a hoodie yesterday. Today might be a t shirt day. Tomorrow and Sunday are supposed to be EPIC! Temps might get into the mid to high 20's which is SUMMER weather. We have so much to do outside and I really hope we get a lot done.

I talked dh out of going for Chinese food for lunch. His PSW comes at 11 and dh doesn't like getting dressed when his body is trying to cool down from his shower. I would like to be at knitting by 1 p.m. So now we will be having a massive shoulder pork chop and asparagus and potato salad for supper.

We have more gorgeous weather high near 80 today.

I posted in J and C that dcousin Jeanne died this morning.

I'm keeping busy by doing some planning for the genealogy trip to Fort Wayne IN. I think I need to leave on Sunday 17 May if I'm going to take two days to drive it.

Woo hoo!! Dh used the tiller in 2 of the bigger raised gardens. I moved stuff out of his way and made sure the plug could reach where he was without getting tangled or under his feet. We were both cold when we started but we sure appreciated the bottle of icy cold water when we were done. Now I have changed out of my hoodie but I'm thinking I might need to get a lighter top on. It's 15 C and very little wind.

The PSW has come and gone.

Thinking of you and your family this morning, ((Twins')).

Cathy, great progress.

My PODA changed on a dime with a text from dd27 asking if I wanted to ride along on a trip to the nice nursery with her. Sent back a funny GIF of a little lizard waving wildly, so she'll be here in maybe an hour or so.

Took a photo of ddil's outrageous tulips in the forcing vase, which have exploded into bloom this morning. Very difficult photo, though, and not satisfied. I'll try it in the evening when window light is different, or may just have to take away from the window. I wanted to let her see where I'd placed them to get this reaction-poof.

The kitchen is nearly spiffed. HRH mistakenly reheated red sauce in the microwave without a lid (he's usually careful to avoid that), so I want to put the round turntable in to the dishwasher and get that load going.

Otherwise, I'll cook up a brunch and check on things outdoors, be ready when dd arrives.

Aside - lucylee and Nancy's conversation last evening sparked memory for me, too. So helpful with my two oldest when grands made themselves available to join in accomplishing things we'd all decided to do for the children. So frustrating when dfirstmil would just decide to do what she pleased - I can almost laugh now. The look on my late dh's face when he saw his daughter's long hair cut off. The look on his face when he found out she'd been taken on an airplane trip overnight when he explicitly said no. Wow. Times. not good, necessarily, but times.

Home from my coffee gathering …watered my plants, did my morning routines, picked up footprints. Started the laundry and got Einstein going .

Need to make lunch for Sweetie and then start reorganizing my closet

90* here wth high humidity. Hopefully it will rain on Sunday cause we certainly need it…

It has been a day filled with unexpected happenings. All turned out well, but they have taken up time I expected to spend differently.

** DGS29 texted to say he was coming by for a visit. I had breakfast ready when he arrived.
** Lifelong friend Gary called to talk out his emotional experience of settling the last actions of burial process for his wife of 50+ years. The headstone was set this morning, and he wanted us to come see it. While we were there, DH and I picked out a headstone that we both liked. When I get done with current projects, I will get that process started.
** DD14 started her first ever job today. She has a smile on her face so far.
** We had lunch at our favorite BBQ place that is only open on Fridays. We chatted with half dozen or so friends while there.

Good afternoon! DH is home now. I had the backlog of dishes done before he got here, but only just. Got the grocery list done yesterday and went to place the order, and on the website, it said they were offering 5x points in their loyalty program this weekend. So the shopping is postponed, but I should at least get the order in. I do hope they give the extra points on online orders.

Girls' night is tonight. Just found out the one with the most news won't be making it. The group text has been blowing up -- her daughter has put a bid in on a house... but it looks like she is being overbid. I was looking forward to hearing more about it. We are going to a taco joint. I am wondering what I'm going to have. I am not a fan of tacos, and not a fan of beans, which might be my only non-meat source of protein. :?

DH had a good time. This camp is the site of the national Jamboree, so it is BIG. Their high ropes course is huge. I think he said their climbing wall can handle 20 at a time. But he learned a lot, and most importantly, he is recertified to be able to run challenge groups, so he will be able to continue running the retreat he does for school. And the Scout council is happy to have him available for weekend events. (I'm less happy, but it really happens seldom.)

Girls' night is happening in less than 2 hours, so I should get to work on the grocery order ASAP! Have a good evening, everyone!
