Hi! Thank you for starting us off today LadyM!!
First... DMIL is being discharged at some point today!!
Second... I have been up since around 4 a.m. Windows are open and the birds were chirping.
Third... Besides PSW two other people are coming over today. Person dh is "giving" some garden space is coming this morning after they get off work. Another person is coming to use the hoist to change one of his sets of tires. I think they have 5 vehicles between 4 adults in the household.
It's another beautiful day here. 1 of 3 litterboxes is deep cleaned. Kitchen garbage is out. I actually vacuumed when all 3 cats were outside.
No idea what we are having for supper.
Latest news on the dh front... now both knees are swelling and painful. Dh is having a hard time doing almost everything. I've been the only person going outside over the past 48 hours or more. I am now watering the gardens. A friend of mine is moving to a condo next week. I am slightly jealous. She's so happy that she no longer has to do yard work.

Good morning
My big news of the day is.......drum roll please.......the baby birds have flown! The nest is empty and the mockingbird parents has stopped with their protective dive bombing. i was able to walk in the garden this morning in peace.
I’d rather forget last night ever happened, but in being honest with myself, I have to admit it did. After all the hub-bub died down and a few hours have past, the incident seems very mild. Long story short...a teenage friend of DS17 didn't make wise decisions and was asked to leave our home. DS17 learned another life lesson about the importance of choosing your peers.
I continue to be thankful that I can be woken from a sound sleep....deal with a matter....and then easily return to sleep. That ability becomes a hard-earned necessity when raising children over many years.
DS17 was up and going at 5:30am today. He is traveling 2 hours away to vehicle dealership to take care of some recalls on his pickup.
DD14 has an appointment with her trusted counselor this afternoon. I'll also pick up some prescriptions that are ready and waiting for us.

I never knew about mocking birds until dd younger moved south. glad your little birds have flown the nest so that you no longer have to watch for dive bombing birds d lady! We have red winged black birds that love to dive bomb us when we are near their area. My dad was chased by a hawk when walking in the woods until he was a quite away from the area.
it is a good lesson for your d son...hope the young man, who needed to leave, learns something from it too.
wishing your dd a good visit
have a great day d lady
hi d cathy have a wonderful day. I am sorry your d mil was in the hospital. praying for her as she goes home.

DH is continuing to return to his normal self. He has started using his phone again to play solitaire. He saw a text message from a friend show up on the phone screen but doesn't remember how to respond to it yet. I can leave him unmonitored for longer stretches of time now. He is sitting outside watching nature and enjoying life.
DS17 has called 3 times since he left this morning. DD14 and I are texting about this afternoon.
After a couple of super difficult & scary days taking care of DH, my life is returning to normal doings.
next up -
** prepare drinks for the day
** make bed
** harvest peppers

PSW has come and gone.
I've moved the lawn tractor out of garage. Truck has been moved as well.
I also took out a massive pork shoulder butt chop for supper. Just one is more than enough for both of us. Dh's appetite is usually lowest on Tuesday after his Ozempic shot on Friday.

Good afternoon! I wasted most of the morning. Listened to some of this month's book club book with/after breakfast and then dozed off till about noon. Even more embarrassing, I didn't doze off listening -- that, I might have expected. (I avoid audiobooks when I can because it makes me drowsy to listen, but this time, I couldn't get the print version easily. I will be glad when our local library reopens in a couple of weeks -- they did a major remodeling and opened up a mini-library in a former drugstore, but they've been completely closed this month as they move back into their revitalized digs. Anyhow, I didn't doze off to the book -- I dozed off because it's chilly in the house (chillier, I think, than outside), and I had pulled the afghan all around me.
My flower seeds have sprouted. No true leaves yet; I don't know how long that takes. I hope they are well established before we head to Columbus, but that is weeks in the future.
No plans for today at all -- the most planning I have done is to choose one of the lighter menus for dinner since I had a large breakfast (maybe that contributed to my doziness).
I'm glad your DMIL is doing better, Cathy. Was the PSW able to give any advice about the swollen knees, or is that outside their purview?
Likewise glad your DH is doing better, LadyM. I hope your DS17 has had safe travels, though I know a two-hour drive is small potatoes for you, relatively speaking. Sorry about your teenage incident, but happy your birdies have flown.
I'm so glad your mom got to have her visit from the bagpiper and enjoyed it, blessed. You remind me I have to have a blood test. I should schedule it; I don't think it has to be fasting.
I bet that shawl is pretty, Nancy!
Hello to Costumelady, who started another thread. I hope she spotted this one, and her connection isn't dodgy. Debating what's next -- lunch or laundry. Either way, I hope you all have a good day!

Hi, have been trying to post and everything gets in the way. Morning blood draw in one direction, then by home again, then appt in big city, meeting a new P.A. By that time, we were getting hungry and stopped for lunch. Everything is fine, btw, will be going back in 4 months. Still disappointed in some of the same bloodwork numbers, but then again, others are stable or slightly better.
