Art, Craft and Needlework, November, 2021

Post by Harriet »

'Tis the season to consider creativity in a new light, with decorating and gift-giving enjoyment on the horizon!

What has needed your creative thought processes lately? What needs the creative touch before the holidays?

Are handmade gifts a possibility and is it going well? Are you going to wrap gifts in a certain way this year and will you need more supplies?

Had a fun time making up craft-treat bags for Halloween Trick or Treat bags this year. I found a kit for 50 leaves and added little items to it, then made a sample for the children to get started. This was pretend autumn leaves in neon coloring but then covered in scratch-off layer. Such fun to use the stylus they included to design each leaf by scratching off the top layer to reveal other colors. It reminded me of Zentangle doodling.

I am tweaking a couple of the market bags I made up before, I had to cut one down it was too tall, I used that for handles and I put the plackets in the corners. One other one also got them too. Pleased with the results yea!

I have finished a puppet and dish cloth the dish cloth is in the sink being used had an extra stitch in it.
Progress is being made on the off white prayer shawl I am knitting up.

I made a puppet.
Mon. Made another puppet and started yet another one. I am trying to get some ahead for a reserve of them.
I have made enough dish cloths.
One more puppet nearly done it just needs eyes, these are great I have it put in sections 5 rows at a time and can do just a bit
now and then. Great for de~stashing up odds and ends of yarn.

I think it's about time I posted something. I finally finished the cross stitch of a "cafe street in Paris" picture on Aug 28th. I started another project involving sequins, beads and embroidery right away and finished that last weekend. I now have another wall hanging started. It is an autumn theme. This all has given me something constructive to do this past year.

I enjoy reading about everyone projects.
