I've started the week with a great workout and a great day. I told trainer I was having a good day, and warned him: Don't mess it up!   I also reminded him that I'm working out tomorrow too, less than 24 hours between workouts. Also warned him to leave something for tomorrow!

I've eaten well, and was planning on grilled chicken salad for my supper, but dh suggested eggplant parm and I'm going for it. It's a favorite.

I need to clean up a little from the workout and head out for an early dinner.

Well yesterday I went to class and later my lower back got achy so I backed off some on my walking although by the end of the day I ended up around 9k. Drank most of my water and ate a bit more fruit than usual plus some crackers that are grain free.

Well I have to admit I didn’t have the most healthy dinner last night…fried grouper sandwich, but oh my it way good. Also had a diet soda. Didn’t eat the bun either. It came with FF another of my favorites but I only at a few because the serving of my fish filled me up.

My next bet starts next Monday but plan to stay focused anyway. I have plenty of salads and fruit in the fridge to keep me on track. Did get my steps in but not all my water.

I think my main focus this month is going to be fitness. I've realized over the past months that I'm turning into my mother. For years, i watched her slowly lose her strength, get exercises from the physiotherapist or kinesiologist, and then not do them, because "they hurt". She just wouldn't fight back, and et the pain win the fight. She did get one knee replaced in 2006, and should have gotten herself on the wait list to have the other one done, but she just kept making excuses. I'd dealing with some pain in my hip and weakness in my lower back. It's easier to use a cane and "hope it gets better", but it isn't going to at my age. I also have trigger finger that I've never had treated properly. I did go to the physiotherapist for several visits, but it wasn't helping, so they recommended I go to my doctor to get a prescription for a cortisone shot to sort it out. I went to the doc, got the requisition, and then didn't make an appointment for the shot. Now I don't know where the darn requisition is!

I have a couple of Walk Away the Pounds videos. One tells me "that operation is forbidden on this disc" (I've never seen that before!), but the other one plays fine. I chose the one mile walk, and went as far as i could. It shows every 1/4 mile, and I made it to half a mile. Not too bad for day one. My all time favourite exercise video is the original Sweatin' to the Oldies with Richard Simmons. Yeah he's corny, but i love the music! For some reason that is an almost impossible video to find... even on eBay. I'm not sure why that particular one is so rare... there's lots of the other DVDs in the collection. I did borrow it from the library, but found it a bit too physically demanding - more in the dancing aspect, rather that just walking. Once I get a ittlle stronger, I can borrow it again

BSweet… if you have you tube there are plenty of senior workouts you can do for free. There are even chair video exercise programs for seniors that require little or no weights. We do them in my exercise class on Wednesdays and one of my friends is 91. Most videos are 20-30 minutes long so are very doable for people who are just starting back. These chair exersize videos are specifically for people that have mobility issues. Some of these videos are just 10 minutes long. Bet you can find one you can do. Most are set to 60’s and 70’s music and are lots of fun.

Reached for some undies but my newer ones were in the laundry. Had to grab and old pair and much to my delight they fit!

Won $47.53 on my diet net, so that’s a win for me too!

RR - CONGRATULATIONS on the dietbet success

Bittesweet - YGG with getting started with exercise and taking care of yourself.

I find it inspirational and motivating to come here. Just knowing that I am not alone in struggling to take better care of myself is encouraging.
