LadyM…
Doesn’t your daily walk add steps to your daily total?

I haven’t done anything for the last 5 days but survive. Strange as it sounds drinking water, even with small sips sets it off. This has always happened when I have a flair-up with my stomach hernia. I can drink herbal teas which I am doing. Caffeine free Diet soda which you would think would cause a problem does no though I only drink 1 can a day.

Usually it’s bread, crackers, cottage cheese, bone broth and eggs are all I can tolerate so that’s what I’m doing. Made it to class on Wednesday cause it’s a chair or stand program. Didn’t go on Monday and I am at…
We shall see for tomorrow.

I have a farewell luncheon for tomorrow when tea is served and I can eat some plain croissants

Yes. The morning mile adds approx. 2.5k steps.
My daily activities don't add many steps.
Driving vehicle
Cooking
Homeschooling
Gardening
Are activities that fill my day without adding many steps. I go through my day with only adding another 2-3K steps.

It isn't unusual to only have 4-5k steps at the end of the day. That means I need to get 2-3k steps during the golden hour to meet my 7k step goal.

LadyM…around 2.5k steps equals a mile for me as well. At the moment I have 3172 steps which for me equals 1.33 miles. My exercise classes are only 30 minutes and some times are done while sitting in a chair. I chose to stand while doing those like this morning.

I met a gal walking her dogs this morning and we stopped and talked. My guess is she is in her late 30’s. Her dad is 79 and a past PE teacher. He wanted her to join a local gym here that does HIIT, which is circuit training with 30-1 minute breaks in between each exercise. She told me she didn’t want to work her body that hard any more…actually she used the word punish…and now walks and does light weights for 20-30 minutes a day.

I told her I get it and thought my exercise class is easy compared to what I used to do and my body is much happier with my decision.

I am happy to say I am finally feeling much better. I still have a luncheon today, but I’m planning to eat easy. Water is still an issue, though I don’t understand why. Anyway one sip at a time.

There's something to be said for both, LadyM. I'm happy to work with the trainer individually at the intensity that she sets, knowing me and my abilities. Usually a challenge but not to far that I'm hurting. I hope I can keep doing so when dh retires, I do know he will want to keep working out himself. He told me he had lunch with a friend who recently retired. This guy goes to the gym every morning and plans a lot of lunch dates with his buddies to keep himself busy and out of the house. Good advice for dh to see how others structure their retirement.

Twins… I used a trainer that I eventually became best friends with for years while in Mesa. We focused on strength and balance. I trained with him 3 times a week and trusted what he taught me. On my off days with my class I still do his exercises and if I need to tweek something he still helps me from afar.

Personal trainers are great but sometimes you don’t always match up with the right person that you need.
Sounds like you found your match, and Jason, who was mine is still there to offer advice when I need it.

⭐ Sleep - 6hr 25 min.
⭐ Hydration - over 100oz
⭐ Morning Mile before coffee - Day #69
⭐ Morning papers before internet - Day #44
⭐ Cronometer with pictures- Day #43
⭐ Golden Hour exercise before PJ's- day #40
⭐ Music = Joy - Day #37 4:8 playlist
⭐ Oral Care before D2S Day #24
⭐ 7k steps before frozen treat Day #10 Another day of sheer determination to get it done. Near sunset the temperature was still over 100 with high humidity. I just put one step in front of the other...repeat over and over until the step goal was accomplished. If I thought it was going to be this hard to accomplish every day, then i might not continue with this daily goal. I do expect it to get easier with practice and this high heat will break in the next couple of weeks. I just need to push through this challenging time.

LadyM… sometimes one foot in front of the other is the only way to go

Yesterday I ate an egg salad sandwich and decaf peach tea at my luncheon. I made a pot of chicken soup in my slow cooker and ate a small bowl. I also made homemade biscuits which I haven’t done in over 40 years!!! To go with it. I needed some plan bread for my tummy. My biscuits came out small and flat as I rolled the dough too thin, but they turned out alright and I ate three of them.

Today im focusing on getting back on track, though im gonna be careful with my water. Gonna try drinking it from a glass instead of the bottle. I drink mine room temperture and am wondering if the way I swallow when I drink out of the bottle may contribute to my hernia issues.

Also taking my peppermint pills which help with my digestion. I need to do a grocery run this morning and peppermint tea is on my list. Drinking it helped me in the past and I’m out of it.

TAKE CARE OF MYSELF daily focus -
⭐ Sleep - 6hr 27 min.
⭐ Hydration - over 100oz
⭐ Morning Mile before coffee - Day #70
⭐ Morning papers before internet - Day #45
⭐ Cronometer with pictures- Day #44
⭐ Golden Hour exercise before PJ's- day #41
⭐ Music = Joy - Day #38 My likes
⭐ Oral Care before D2S Day #25
⭐ 7k steps before frozen treat Day #11 Another difficult day but I did it. It is miserably hot to walk so I break it down into about 500 steps at a time then come inside and cool down. Repeat 500 steps then cool down over and over until the daily goal is reached. This extreme heat isn't forever. I just need to get through another couple weeks of it.
