October Declutter Strategy, 2024

Post by Harriet »

It's the final quarter of the year!

What is your Declutter Strategy to get ready for upcoming changes, such as visits, spending more time indoors yourself, celebrations, having a view of your decor, and space for it?

This is our last 2024 month of regular Cleaning Focus, btw. On November 4, we head into Maintenance.

I have been working on decluttering my table and after that doing a daily
clear on it and paying more attn. to my kitchen counters about 3/4 this of the way done but working daily on these zones is helping and my going forward plan.

I decluttered some items that no one wanted from the free pile.
I bagged em up and tossed the dust catchers.
A book and couple of small shelves that no one was ever going to use again.
One failed sewing project went the other day too.
That feels SO good@ Yea for that and it makes me happy bc I did not luv those items any more.
Some I had totally forgotten I had, found the book when I unloaded the book the other day.

A large set of dd26's paintings left our storage building headed for her house. I wish there could be more progress inside my house, but she only came in her car and dsonil stayed at home working on projects.

I have burned branches in the fire pit for my progress and am counting that.
Dd got the two shelf insets the go with the unit she got last summer, I found when cleaning closets this mo.
moved it to the shed and told her she had a week to get it. [I knew she was between jobs.]
Setting a dead line really helped!

I am going to plan on doing 15 min. of paper purging pages from planner I'm done with
start with the oldest ones first except the one or two I'm keeping for sure.
Sigh a bit job but I can start and in a few weeks hoping I can see a noticeable difference.
