Watch out world! We are on a roll. Two evening family walks in a row have happened.

Yesterday was not a high scoring day in TAKING CARE OF MYSELF. It wasn't horrible at 79% but it was an 18% drop from the day before.

Twins - I am very interested in how Mounjaro works for you. I have asked our family doctor about taking it, but I don't have any health issues to trigger the insurance to pay for it. My BMI is 29 so I am hovering between overweight & obese. DH has taken Ozempic for a couple years and it has totally transformed his weight/A1C. I don't remember the exact amount, but DH lost around 70 lbs by taking ozempic. His blood sugar now stays stable in a good range 99% of the time.

DH has only experienced one side effect which might be a good thing for his health. If he eats too many carbs it will trigger immediate
diarrhea. It is as if the meds tell his body to get rid of all those carbs NOW. Once we discovered how these meds react to high amount of carbs, then it is fairly easy to predict.

LadyM, I need to pay a visit to the pharmacy and see what's going on. Online indicates that it's on hold.

I am staying focused on healthy eating. I track everything I eat past the first bite. Now that tracking my food in cronometer has become normal to me, I can't imagine not doing it. IMHO it is well worth the few minutes it takes.

It is coming down to the wire finish with only 3 days left in the month. Will I make my 4 pound a month weight loss goal? I am currently at 3.7lbs lost. This is an average weight using trend values so the change happens very slowly. The usual change is .1 pound loss a day. I might make it, or it could be one or two tenths short of my goal. The suspense! The anticipation!

And the anticipation builds as I come down to the end of the month with my goal to lose 4 pounds. Today I am at 3.9lb lost so it is looking favorable. HOWEVER, I know from experience that my body weight is never stable and will bounce up & down 2-3lbs. Using trend values helps to level out the bounces but I don't want to get overconfident because that is when I blow it.

I recently have been watching videos of challenges to eat for a week when the food budget is $25-$30. I am not interested in the cost savings (well....I am but that is not the reason I am watching these videos) . I am interested in these types of videos because they cook with almost no processed foods. Processed food is more expensive than preparing meals using whole food ingredients. It is meals using whole food ingredients that I want to see. I am usually inspired to try one or more whole food meal ideas each time I watch one of these types of videos. Today I am watching this video.

LadyM … you got this!!!

I cook food for Sweetie where I have leftovers, so two meals in one. I buy WM single serving salads…$2.79 each I think and that way I have salads for the week for both of us.

I started cooking a couple of lbs of ground beef and keep it in the fridge for my taco or Big Mac bowls I eat for dinners. I do the same with chicken and tuna. Cut up lettuce on the bottom, 1/2 of cottage cheese and top that with either beef, chicken and sometimes tuna. I add salsa sauce, cheese as dab of sour cream for the taco bowl. Last night I made a Big Mac bowl… lettuce , CC, beef, onion and hamburger pickles with a little of light 1000 island dressing …yummy. Some nights I cook fish for me and eat a salad or veggie depending on what I am making for Sweetie.

I am buying individual low carb protein chips and eat a half a bag with my dinner. 140 calories in a single bag so I’m only adding 70 calories with my meal.

I almost always cook chicken and add either rice and a veggie or salad or chicken veggies and rice for Sweeties dinners.

I seldom eat process or fast food and when we go out for fast foods I always request my burgers without the bun. Every once in a while I treat myself to French fries because I could eat them with every meal!

Reviewing October data for TAKING CARE OF MYSELF by focusing on food selection and portion size.

Goal - Track all food/drink after the 1st bite/sip.
100% successful in tracking everything after the 1st bite/sip
I am on day #113 for using Cronometer.

Goal - Calories stay below 1199
68% successful in staying below 1199 calories daily
97% successful when looking at the average daily calories

Goal - Protein % to stay above 35%
48% successful in staying above 35% protein daily
42% successful when looking at the average daily protein percent

Goal - Carbs stay below 100g daily
68% successful in staying below 100g of carbs daily
71% successful when looking at the average grams of carbs daily

I am thankful even with these areas of low percentage of success, I still managed to meet my 4 lb weight loss goal for the month.

This data tells me where my strengths and weaknesses are. I know what I need to improve next month.

LadyM… hurray you made it… knew you would!

I haven’t been on my scale, but my bra and pants are looser.

Mouth is still sort of sore. Yesterday I only had had yogurt to eat.

Hurray for LadyM! Way to go! My script for Mounjaro is still stalled by insurance company. I'll give doc a nudge toward the end of the week about it.
