Re: Health and Fitness January, 2025
I stumbled upon this and thought I would share it here in case it interests anyone else.
Analyzing health factors and how they relate to other factors.
It can be done for free in their app or they provide free worksheets if prefer to DIY that look interesting.
I am learning about understanding energy spent on activities by using spoon theory

Re: Health and Fitness January, 2025
I did a little review and analyzed my calorie vs weight data for the past 6 months.
It is easy for me to get lost in the daily/weekly weeds but looking at my data on a monthly view.....
1400ish calories averaged for a month result in .6lb weight loss
1300ish calories averaged for a month result in 1.2lb weight loss
1200ish calories averaged for a month result in 2.8lb weight loss
1100ish calories averaged for a month result in 4.1lb weight loss
I recently experienced eating 700ish calories that hit all 82 vitamin/mineral goals so in theory I could drop my daily calories more and lose weight faster.
Information shows my options.
What am I going to do with this information?
Hum.....

Re: Health and Fitness January, 2025
Very interesting abt the Spoon Theory as is many autist people talk about not having enough of their “spoons” by the end of their day.
They talk abt the lack of their spoons causing their meltdown and frustrations due to lack of mental energy by the end of their day. It’s also used as a way to express sensory overload, another cause of meltdowns.
Sometimes my autist student, now friend, would say to me… I’m out of spoons… to let me know she needed a break.
Research: Autism and spoons on google for a better explanation. There are great examples of how many spoons might be required to do a task like going to school or taking a shower, or in my case when my student was feeling she was on overload.

I didn't know there was a tie between those two. Interesting! It makes perfect sense in how DD13 deals with social interactions and her desperate desire for calm & peace to recharge.Autism and spoons
I am seeing some similarities in when I started focusing on TAKING CARE OF MYSELF in July and gearing back up after the holidays. It is partly making the decision to make a change but then it requires time and consistency to see the results of that change. It would be much easier if I could **snap my fingers** and make things happen faster. Patience grasshopper.

Re: Health and Fitness January, 2025
Over the holidays and two surgeries I didn't stop with my healthy habits, but I did relax them. The exercise habits were neglected the most. It wasn't planned to do that, but it just happened. Life seems to just happen unless I take consistent, deliberate action with boundaries to keep them in place.
In some ways it feels like I am starting over. I know what works for my body and that gives me a good idea of minimums needed. I am not seeking daily perfection but focusing on meeting my goals most of the time. It is the weekly and monthly averaging data that I pay the most attention to. It is a long game I am playing. Reminding myself to enjoy the journey.

Re: Health and Fitness January, 2025
LadyM, I'm starting over with my workouts with the trainer today. We can start over together. I think it was two years ago that I began. In 2024 I was off for nearly three months (April - June) with the trip to Europe and wrist surgeries, another couple or three weeks in August, also vacation time, and off for two months here at the end of the year. So I need to get back in the groove here.
I'm setting step goal for 49K for the week. I should achieve that easily, baring bad weather. I've missed 52.5K the last two weeks with cold weather and snow. I'm down roughly 6 lbs since 25 November when I started Zepbound.
I know that working out regularly will improve my eating habits.

Reviewing my weekly health data change -
** Sleep - 1 hr 5 minutes less sleep last week when compared to week before. 9 hours to 7hrs 55 minutes average. Excellent
** Calories - 124 less calories per day last week. I am hoping to drop the daily average another 100ish calories this week.
** Exercise - averaged 224 more steps per day last week. My goal is to beat yesterday's step count. Repeat daily.
Small consistent improvements. Keep the momentum going and enjoy each part of the journey.

Re: Health and Fitness January, 2025
Ate well yesterday but not sure of my steps as I left it charging. Still need to work on water
We as a group talked to the gal in charge of our exercise classes this morning and asked that she find hard videos. She had backed off on some because not all the girls in our group want to work harder. We already have a chair class on Wednesdays to accommodate them.
During those classes we can stand instead of sit so we said on Mondays and Fridays those women can do what they can do instead of us slowing down for them. Besides we feel some of those women are happy with a much easier workout and we are not.
I was glad that others spoke up. I go mostly just to hang out with friends, but miss the harder workouts we used to do when I first started. The most of the women in this class feel the same way. Our exercise room offers a bar with extends the entire length of the room so there is plenty of space for those who need extra support can use it.
There aren’t many gyms in the area and those don’t offer group classes like I had when I was in Mesa. I miss that. I don’t need a personal trainer because mine from there still sends me routines for me to do. I just need to do them
