Kittykatt, I enjoyed those photos. You have such a lovely area in your yard. Very welcoming.

Btw, here, when we see Twins' chat about zinnias and Ramblin' chat about sunflowers means it must be spring.

Nancy, a nurse talked with me about hyacinths - she had planted grape hyacinths and was so proud of them, hopeful. They really are sweet flowers.

blessed, did you plan on paper this year, or did you pretty much just know where you wanted things?

Doctor says that although I can water my indoor plants myself, she cannot allow me to touch any dirt. So that means no indoor or outdoor plant care really. HRH says since the African Violets in the LR need bottom watering, maybe I should teach him how. Not supposed to reach out and touch outdoor plants this year, and of course, annual flowers are my great favorites, so the beds will just lie fallow for 2025.

I am going to be living vicariously through the floral gardening ya'll do this year, so have fun and do tell!

hello hello

d harriet - I am sorry you can't touch dirt yet. I never realized that would be a problem - it makes sense
I am praying this time goes by fast so that you can garden again!
I wish we could all be there to help you with your planting!
Sending a garden fairy to you to sprinkle spring and summer joy through your house and yard.

I have been a little busy to plan on paper - I also found out the area where I planted the hydrangeas gets way to much water - It seems like a pond under ground.
waving to all of you!

I ordered a cornus - I haven't been able to get one for 3 years to match the other one. white
my geraniums are doing well
my Mex daisy - only one made it
my fever few - is on the edge - should have started it earlier
the columbines are 1-2" high - I should have started those in January.
the delphiniums are growing - not one of my foxgloves grew - I have no idea why
I started four dahlias inside - next week I will do another 4 and then another 4 experiment.
The runuculaş is looking good - waiting on putting them outside - we have had snow flurries
the green onions look about the same as when I tried them last time - which is good - they look frail but they did great last time.
I soaked the sweet peas for 2 days - I hope they work.

I wish all of you the most wonderful April!!! happy gardening.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

I have been dead heading herbs.
Then put that in the cans three of them.
Good progress today.
I am SO glad that my goal is every other day so I can do other things too like cleaning inside errands and such.
Shopping for plants and seeds is on my radar.
Harriet I really enjoy gardening shows those might be of interest to you.

yay d Nancy. Our supposed last frost is May 15 (normally I go with my mom's birthday on May 23 bc we have had snow in the beginning of June.

I have a lot of garden hopes this year.
I am trying to make my garden time a priority for my dogs and I.

today:
most of my geraniums have done well (from seed) but some are struggling to grow - I will try to pot them up and see if it saves them.
my delphiniums are getting their second leaves - they will not flower this year
I know fox gloves are supposed to be easy but none of mine are gone.
used a weak organic fertilizer on my plants today
My columbines - I am on the fence for this - maybe I should put them in the colder area
I planted sweet peas but I don't know if they will be too late.

I need to plant my onions this week.

find smaller fan to straighten my seedlings on bottom seedlings

blessed, I don't know about the time in your area for sweet peas, but I'm pretty sure your soaking time sounds just about right. Good job on that. I bet they germinate well. Back when the Sugar Snap Pea became available, eventually becoming the "new vegetable of the century", I think, I started growing them, which was the first time I had ever tried peas. They were not as beautiful a plant, for instance with pretty sweet-pea-blossoms, but were so tasty and different.
columbines - I am on the fence for this

:) sorry, blessed, I know exactly what you meant but your wording made me smile. Like many people, I used to think columbine was a vine and wanted to climb, and I wondered what I should use to fence it. (doesn't need it)

Nancy, yes, there are a few I have liked in the past, so I'll have to check them out! One pleasant fellow from England, Charles Dowding, I have recommended here years ago, although I simply cannot work with the strength he does or on the scale he does. Plus, there is blessed's fav Gardening Answers.

HRH was going to have tomatoes this year himself but has decided he will just enjoy gifts from others this year. It occurred to him that he would be outdoors playing in the dirt, then almost feel he had to shower immediately after coming inside every time, worried about touching me. Sigh.

Oooh, Mexican Daisies so gorgeous.

Kittykatt is probably transforming her "mysterious shrouded area" and Ramblin' may be considering when to retire her laundry baskets for the season.

My garden is growing fast in the warm, sunmy weather, and everything is greening up nicely. I've bought some more pansies for pots on the patio and along the fence. One pot of tulips didn't do at all this year, so they are now in the bin. And, the mysterious shrouded shape has now been uncovered and revealed!
