I like your exercises LadyM. So many are incorporated into habit you already have - a wise way of forming new habits. I don't recall which book suggests just that. I missed my workout yesterday but had over 10K steps and was aching by the end of the day.

But we have an alternative doctor (chiro that almost has his functional medicine degree) that uses some fancy concentrated thing that looks similar to a flashlight.
The belt only has 2 wavelengths while the flashlight has multiples. The alt doc is mainly for my DH who has some serious health issues. Two weeks ago, we had a breakthrough where he could feel the heat of the light all the way through his body which meant some scar tissue had been dissolved enough for the red light & heat to penetrate all the way through.
For myself, my joint injuries are showing vast improvement.

Keep remembering this! There will be bumps in the road, especially as a parent. That first week with my new grandson was nothing short of chaos. Sleep has been interrupted, eating is off but not horrifically, only one week of strength training, but am getting a fair amount of steps though still not "goal," and all the things. BUT even with this two-week stent of off-ness, I get to jump right back in when I get home. Don't get me wrong, I started to get a bit disappointed that I didn't keep it all up but then I reminded myself that I'm doing much needed "work" here and that things don't always go as smoothly as we plan.Lady Maverick wrote: Fri Apr 11, 2025 10:40 am Overall, I had a great day yesterday with a minor bump in the road.

My daily calories have creeped up this month. It is so easy to add a few calories here and there. It is a matter of personal integrity that I record everything I eat. I need to know the truthful facts so I can watch the results. I try to keep my feelings out of the food recording and keep the focus on being all about the numbers. Yesterday I had the highest calories count day of the year. Because I deal with averages it doesn't show much change. But when I look behind the scenes, I can see the daily & weekly real numbers. If I don't make a change then they are going to lead me to a place I don't want to go. Knowledge is power. It gives me information to make decisions.

I am evaluating highest calorie foods to see if they are worth it. If they are something that I enjoy then they are worth the energy. However, in every case I evaluated the high calorie food was not enjoyed enough to pay that high of a price (calories). I like having the facts available so I can make informed decisions.
