Re: 2025!!!!! Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall, winter again.
we have had some nursing home struggles as they made her stay away for 5 days during the day that exhausted her to an unhealthy level. it was terrible. I mean really terrible and my brother just went along with it. she, if allowed to sleep, her and there isn't unusual - then she is good - they had her over tired.
yesterday they finally let her be on her schedule and what a difference - what ever they gave her last night let her sleep for 8 hours. an anti anxiety med
I hurt my lower back the day before yesterday and lol I am not used to pain there - it's taken 2 days to work
so far up at 5:30 am - cleaned the kitchen
and dining room
and family room
next: water the plants
We have a meeting with the nursing staff today at 1:00 I will go see mom at 11:30 or after the meeting

Why would they make her stay awake when she needs the rest. Maybe it's good to keep the schedule a bit so they can sleep at night but overtired is no good for anyone. Hopefully this with get sorted.
Talking to to my sister yesterday . Just the 2 of us. Trying to figure out how to help dpd remember things. When appointments are. Goodness sometimes it does feel like he tells the same story like he hasn't told me yet. And he just figured it out. Mom is depressed. I knew that all along. She used be a strong woman and now she can't express anything or do things herself. Not much left to live for. She lays in bed a lot.

they forgot to take the order away on day 4 - mom ended up in the hospital for severe pain (she was screaming) and exhaustion. (they thought her hip was broken on the other side bc of the bruising. the dr and nurses at the hospital said it's supposed to be a gradual process not that extreme all day -
I will have a meeting with them so this doesn't happen to other people.
thank you d Lauralind!
I am so sorry your d mom is so depressed!!! it's so so hard for all of you. could your dad get a helper a few hours a day for her for his own mental health. I am praying for both of them.
that telling you over and over again is normal - if he just had surgery and may have the beginning of dementia - but I am sure it's a combination of the surgery and his caring for your d mom.
dementia can take a lot away - have you spoken to a person that is a specialist in dementia and alzheimers - they may not be able to change the behavior but they can help you make it easier on how to deal with her depression and dementia\

Thank you blessed. I am pretty sure dad is struggling because of the surgery and stress.. pretty likely. I so hope he did remember the blood work appointment this morning. We talked about it Sunday.
I have a few family friends who have been helping. A lot right after surgery. Less now that he is good. We have had some severe struggles with resisting the health care aids and whatever else is available. Mostly none of the programs are acceptable by him. We've tried and just hit road block all the time. There is support available. Sort of. I don't know what else I can do to find help for him. Thanks for the links.

Blessed he's doing ok. He's getting to the stage of one day is good and then he goes and does too much and pays for it the next day. I am getting a little concerned though. He's making me nervous. Several times in the past few weeks I've been there... using a plastic tray instead of cookie sheet in the oven. Forgetting he had a pot boiling. I'm almost sure he left the cast iron wok in the oven while his chicken baked.
I joined a couple of dementia/ alzeimers caregiver groups on Facebook. Makes me feel a little better knowing that it's so normal some of the things mom is doing. All the sleeping. Accidents to clean up. She likes it so much when I come. I just don't have it in me to do every day off.
How is your mom? Do you have her back home again?
