Twix is a chocolate bar made by Mars Inc., consisting of a biscuit applied with other confectionery toppings and coatings (most frequently caramel and milk chocolate).[1] Twix are packaged with one (mini and snack sizes), two (standard size), or four bars (king size) in a wrapper.

Twix was first produced in the United Kingdom in 1967 and it was introduced in the United States in 1976, and again in 1979. The name is a portmanteau of "twin sticks". Twix was called Raider in mainland Europe for many years before its name was changed in 1991, 2000 in Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Turkey, to match the international brand name. The Raider brand was resurrected for retro editions sold in Germany in 2009, in the Netherlands, Belgium, Finland and Sweden in 2015, and Switzerland in late 2023.

In an episode of Seinfeld entitled "The Dealership", a major plotline in the episode focuses on George Costanza's failed attempts to extract a Twix bar from a vending machine. Also, a recurring joke in the episode is that people confuse a Twix bar with a 5th Avenue Bar. However, George insists that "Twix is the only candy bar with the cookie crunch."

Good morning everyone and happy Tuesday!

L Ann, I hope everyone enjoyed the magic show.

A walk sounds much more pleasant than a jog in 80+ temperatures , Helian!

Laura, it sounds as though Walnut and Briar both need to be fixed ASAP, if they haven't been done already! (Over here, girl kitties are now usually done at 4 months, so long as they meet the weight requirements, which helps prevent any "surprises". 6 months can be too late ! ) If Walnut has already had his operation, then the marking should decrease and eventually hopefully stop, as his hormone levels adjust.

Bama, I would love more dolls houses to work on. But I'm limited by space! Our house is tiny, so even accomodating the one I bought back in January along with my childhood dolls house has been a bit of a squeeze. The "new" one is temporarily on hold during the summer months. I'm planning to do more to it over winter, when I can't do so much outside . So, to put temptation out of the way, that's why I'm selling the surplus furniture and other bits amd pieces.

Gma,.I'm glad you had a successful.day, but sorry about the unkind letter from the nurse. It seems especially unfair as you'd followed all the recommendations. WTG preparing your defence!.

Dogged, you sounds as if you're adjusting to retirement very quickly! :D

I never made it back here yesterday. Time for away from me, but we do still have a clean upstairs. However, I had a revelation that a "normal" person would have had months ago. I e been struggling to fit in long walks over the last few weeks, and that's because it's been hot and also because I spend.a lot more time working in the garden this time of year. I can't have the time twice! So I need to be more content with shorter walks while I'm spending lots of time in the garden, but still ensure I prioritise going for a walk, and gradually increase the length again when the garden season tails off. Something else to consider, while the evenings are still so long and light, maybe I could walk then too sometimes?

Today DH is WFH, and I'm also at home. I need to work on the email to the county council, but that's not urgent. Yet. I need to say what I want to say, yet keep it polite while still firm. Also, garden/walk / housework as usual. I'm not sure what the weather will do -one forecast says light rain while the other insists it will be cloudy with sunny spells . ATM it's cloudy, but no rain. Yet.

Good morning KK, wtg on clean upstairs. Doll houses are cool, I used to have one. My new crafting thing is to make Anglican knotted rosaries. I bought enough to make like 100, so far I have made 6 (1 beaded) and have 4 more ready to knot. Taking a bag on our trip to work on.

I will have to check back on everyone else. Sounds like a lot of drama gma.

Dogged, I am technically retired but don't feelnretired because I amnstill teaching partner time, I am not sure I am going to like not teaching. Too much downtime for me is bad.

We leave tomorrow for 18 days so today is packing day. Cleaner comes today. While we did take a huge load to church I have more to gather this morning and take today sometime, probably once Prince get home.

I have my hormone pellets this morning then home to:

Do laundry finish out the 2 loads.
Gather more stuff, mostly from office and kitchen and basement storage
Pay bills
Send emails to put announcement in enotes and bulletin
Send emails to individuals to help with yard sale organization
Prepare an ad to put out closer to the yard sale on social media sites.
Create a booklet for rosary, I have one that Gabe and I did yesterday and bookmarks. He put a qr code to share on a bookmark. And I need to see if that works.
Pack tonight, we leave about 9:30 in the morning.
I substitute teach at 1 so need to head there at 12:15. Done at 3:30. I really will try to pack car this morning with donations and drop off after teaching.
I work best when I have a time crunch.
R is left home again with the dog and garden to care for.
It is 6 am and I am awake. I will get up and work in office closet gathering items and sort the bills and do emails. They are all written just need but and pasted to correct people.
My appt is 8:30 leave by 8:15. I will be home by 9. Cleaner comes at 10 but we tidied last night.
Fluff and fold and Flip this morning
And Fluff and fold after appt.
Put together boxes and sort MK closet
Get MK box out of storage
Gather out of hutches, some things will be given to MK friend or saved for gifts
Go through Kitchen Gadget drawers for unused items
Go through coat closet for items
Look in storage room for items.

I gave them a Kirby Vacuum with carpet cleaner hardly used, a huge bag of women's clothes and purses, bos of miscellaneous
A box of new items we got as gifts but didn't want and taking more of those today.

Whatever I don't sort I can give on free cycle later or donate elsewhere later.

This is a 1 day church yardsale and the proceeds are split between the children's programming and Parish Life.

I have 9 days of which 2 are a weekend so 7 days of keeping busy while P works. I will be knotting rosaries, writing my google classroom for the year, working out in the hotel gym (no swimming pool), reading a book, setting up my LLC, binge watching the rest of Criminal minds new episodes as long as my paramount works on roku from afar. I started last summer season 1 episode one and I am down to the last 5 episodes of the show, then I will rematch the first 2 seasons of reboot and close with new season. We can kayak, go bowling, hike, whale watch, Eagle watch, there is a Shakespeare Festival with 2 shows. P just said, well at night I will be writing reports. Joy Joy.

No other wives are going. I have to find out if they use uber.

I hope packing and travel prep goes well, CL. That's a long trip! Those handmade rosaries sound cool.
Kitty, sounds like a sensible plan for walking. Gardening must be exercise too. I actually went for a walk last night because it rained in the afternoon. I walked over to the Cs to return Raven's water bowl which they'd left here. It's about a 15 minute walk to their house. I saw 7 rabbits on the walk home.

Twix - when we traveled in Japan, we discovered that they have many more different flavors of Twix than we have. I can't remember the more interesting ones now, except for green tea and maybe banana. They also had coffee flavored Coke. It wasn't that great imho. lol!

Last night, I went for a short walk to return Raven's bowl, ordered more towels for our main bathroom, and did a last read through of the reading exams. The teachers seemed happy.

Today is starting out cooler, but I'm meeting with S2 and K so I can't jog this morning - and it will be well over 80*F this afternoon. High of 89*F. We're going to a music concert this evening. . . I think I might have to wait until tomorrow to jog. :? Or just jog short in higher temps this afternoon.

The concert tonight is AJR, a fairly popular band. Burn the House Down is one of their songs that is played on the radio. (Not to be confused with Talking Heads' Burning Down the House. LOL!) The venue is a little over an hour away. Dd27 is going with us! Should be a fun evening - but quite late; I think they don't even start playing until 8:30/ 9:00.

Good morning ☀️

Thanks for the start, kittykatt. I believe your Twix bar is the same as ours so I was sad when I discovered the Mars bar is different. I loved the 70s version when I was younger, too bad they discontinued them. Gardening definitely counts as exercise too.

CL, rosaries sound cool. We watched the new criminal minds and enjoyed it although it’s pretty grim for some.

Helia, I’m not a big fan of adding flavors to original recipes, if I want coffee I’ll order coffee, when I drink coke I expect coke lol. Cool about the bunnies. Enjoy your concert.

Gma, so sorry the nh is giving you grief. Good for you gathering facts, most wouldn’t bother.

Dogged, hope to see you soon.

LAnn, you’re having a busy summer.

Laura, good luck with all the fixer upper stuff.

Hugs to everyone. Hope I didn’t miss someone. ♥️

Dd2 got home around 2am yesterday. Dh got her up around 8 to run errands with us lol. He’s oblivious to the need for sleep in others. She had to drive over 4 hours to get here. She prefers to drive late at night, less traffic, which makes me worry so I stayed up until she got home. Plus my sleep habits are messed up due to heat anyway. I need an afternoon nap which keeps me up late and wanting to sleep away the morning. Dh got his labs done, plus some other tribal business, we dropped off 50 canning jars at the florist (his moms jars, we still have hundreds, the florist gives us a credit to use in house, I would never use so many jars plus I have my own, and my moms, I’m ready to put away enough food to survive the apocalypse lol). We ate lunch out and then shopped thrift stores in Pensacola. Dd and I found plenty, dh didn’t, they just don’t have much guy stuff ya know? Today is a mini whb, and head to the mall for dd some shoes/clothes, eat at the food court, another thrift store I’d like to visit maybe, and groceries. If we can last that long. Yesterday was the hottest day on record for the year. I’m not sure if it broke the record for past years but it was very warm.

Enjoy your day.

Interesting to learn that candy is international, and started in the UK! I don't eat many candy bars, but Twix is a once in a while one.

HI, Bama, good to see you back.

I've been to the bank to check balances. Good thing this is a small town - I forgot to bting the shredding, so I have to go back.
Met with a guy who will help clean up some messy dirt patch in mother's yard - it's not a big job, but Icannot use a shovel yet.
Pulled some weeds in hone of her flower beds, and planted a couple new flowers to replace 2 that had died. I did climb a ladder to chedk a solar light on the roof- rain gutter bacause tenent said it no longer comes on. I'll have to replace it. Ladder is not a good idea yet either, so I made sure to put my foot on the step gently, and spread my weight over the whole foot, not just the front.
I have a bill to pay for mother.
DS brought a plastic garden shed to my back patio - it's not big wnough for his things anymore. so he's building a new one. I can appreciate using this one. It will be helpful to reduce stuff in my garage, that I yse sometimes but not alot.
Then I need to change clothes and pick her up for her eye appointment.

Not much on this list for me I note. Wxcept that hiring yard work done relieves me of some work... I'll do soemthing for me later in the day - she always foes to bed after her eye injection.

Gma, hope all goes well.
Time for me to get cracking.
So far I’ve had Bible time, deleted emails, tagged stuff on fb marketplace, and actually found a pic of what I want to do with the bathroom sink at Hollywood. It’s heavy and hung on the wall, starting to tilt, so needs shoring up in an authentic way, dh would be fine sticking 2x4s under it and moving on.

Next is dust, vacuum, litter.
