Satisfying Saturday PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

Around the village, we're looking for a satisfying Saturday. Friends and family, and maybe a little stamping time makes a satisfying day for me. What makes your Saturday satisfying?

I've been doing my qt inside today.
Now I just let ddoggo out and I can hear quail in the back yard.
I've been working with my new pages & journaling prompts it's very satisfying for me.
Especially because I have my chores done up earlier in the week to free up some time for
my planner pages to get prepped.

We actually call them chuckar here.
They sound different that Bob white here out west.
A doz. flew off when we started out walk.

Working on a planner reset fun for a while but I needed a break.
-----
Update I have drove the other rig, went to one yd. sale got one thing.
A storage keeper box like for lunch-ables with a teal lid like the one I got last week.
So that was worth it.
I learned there were like 30 on one section in the next town over but decided not to
go to them. I did tell one person he seemed excited to learn about them.,

Got the rest of those planner pages prepped to use later.

Hi Twins' Mom!

For myself, staying off the local highway on a Saturday in the summer is satisfying. Staying home is also satisfying.

I have a load of jackets and other cold weather coats in the washing machine right now. Better to get them done when nobody wants to wear them.

Next door neighbour must have set his watch this morning. He started cutting his grass right at 9 a.m. I just thought it was funny when I looked at the clock. He is an accountant for an international company and he does have a few quirks.

It is a lot cooler here right now and dh hasn't had any fans on for a couple of days.

Morning Y'all...

Started my day with my morning routines and removal of my footprints. Already had a shower and a working on my second cup of coffee.

Yesterday I went to my morning class, then my coffee gathering and dropped off my donations at Goodwill, Came home, ate lunch and crashed!!! That meant I didn't get all I wanted done.

Already been through several of my storage boxes and have married several of them. I'll fold up the empty ones and put them away for another time. Actually I think I will be able to use them in my laundry room. I have several boxes that can go up into the attic, but I want to declutter that as well. Will wait till the weather cools though.

Next:
Relabel storage boxes for my closet
Organize the closet
Do a short grocery run
Let Einstein do his thing.

I am going to the beach with my friends tomorrow. Haven't gone the last two Sundays and I'm told the sand fleas are gone. Lets hope so. Will still wear my long sleeved sun shirt when I'm not in the water just in case.

Off to start my chores... see y'all later

Good morning

Twins - thank you for the start today and intriguing question.
What makes your Saturday satisfying?
I find the simplicity of our normal life satisfying. I enjoy being with family and friends. I love doing things that challenge and keep my interest (gardening, cooking, organizing). I am happy when I can do normal everyday activities. Some would consider them boring, but I truly enjoy doing them.
At this time of my life, I don't have any desire to travel. However, I absolutely love hearing about travel & places visited by others. I have enjoyed receiving pictures and hearing about DS51 and family's 10-day cruise through the Greek Isles recently.

I've been roasting a couple heads of cabbage this morning and putting it into serving size portions. This is one of my favorite vegetables ......I might say that about a dozen different vegetables though....

I love the quieter weekends when I have time to breath. Dh went to Torah study and now a funeral. I'll take some time to stamp today or perhaps genealogy. We're going to an exhibit/reception at the public library late this afternoon and then going to dinner with friends.

I'm piddling at genealogy for now. Did not sleep as well as I could have. I shouldn't have napped yesterday.

Nancy, quail as in bobwhite? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_bobwhite I haven't heard one in years here.

I'm with Cathy and LadyM:
Staying home is also satisfying.
and
I find the simplicity of our normal life satisfying.
RR, so glad you're feeling so much better and have some energy going.

Dh has a far greater need for travel and socialization than I do. I am hoping we can balance those needs with my need to be home, and have quiet time over the next few years.

I've started planning DS16's homeschool lessons. With only one school day next week, I can keep the assignments minimal. I will be so glad and relieved once this final year of homeschooling is complete.

Our temperatures remain on the cooler side, staying in the low 90s for the next three days. We don't need to worry about limiting our time outside or the risk of overheating. It's a nice break.

43 cards completed.

DS16 has called 3 times this morning. The last call was to say that his boss is cooking lunch for them instead of their typical trip to the local cafe to eat. His boss asked DS16 if he liked fried squash and he said yes. I told DS16 that he used to eat all the vegetables when he was younger and enjoyed them. It has only been the last couple of years that the teens shy away from eating vegetables.

Taking a break..

My closet looks marvelous❤️ Also made sure to return items I found in there but didn’t belong to their proper homes.

I am eating my lunch and then will head to the grocery store. Thought it was going to storm, but it didn’t happen.

I love all veggies!

LadyM… hard to believe your DS-16 is a senior. You’ve become an amazing teacher. You should be very proud of your self.

I’m all for lazy days. I only want to travel to see beloved friends and family.

I tried to nap numerous times. Then dh went outside and started weed whacking just moments after he covered me with a second blanket. Sigh...

I have noticed neighbor next door to the house behind that's getting a new owner soon.
The one next to it is hauling furniture out.
I think it looks like he's moving out or he is taking out furniture after the wife passed sort of
speculating.

It's warmed up again outside trying to get my steps in the basement is nice!
Just sayin' I might camp out down there! LOL! Just kidding.
