Little I is improving! Her respiratory rate is going down. I'm not sure they're even supplementing her oxygen anymore. But it will take a few days, I think, to get her off the CPAP and then she needs to be nursing well before she can be discharged. F is producing an amazing amount of milk, which is great! F is being discharged today; it will be an emotional moment for her to come home without her baby.

Hello blessed! It's always nice to see you!
Hi Peaches!
Looks like a busy day for you tomorrow, L Ann.
Did you get a sale-priced cottage roll, Doggedly?
That makes me think of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Bama! Oh my, a tornado! Glad it missed you.
Glad you got in a walk, Kitty.

F is being discharged; the nurse is here talking to her right now. I just had a long phone conversation with Dh. I'll see if I can post an updated list.

Main Goals Today:
- payroll: make HW4 (practice for test), grade HW3, set up quizlet - 5A Vocab
- 9 drive dh to the airport
- go to the hospital
- will F bedischarged today? Yes!

- help around the house as much as I can; help make dinner for 4?

Next:
- help get all ds + F's stuff to the cars
- drive back
- unload the cars
- help with dinner for 4

Later:
- payroll: GGT emails
- get in a short jog/ walk today - might be possible
- help with dinner? I think F has a casserole for the first night home?
- after dinner clean up
- feed cats wet food lunch and dinner
- go pick up an Rx for F?
- duolingo
- actually update health apps

TaDas!
- up; coffee
- email deletions + weather website - looks like maybe no rain today?
- sent trustee contact info to dbro for umpteenth time. Told him to save it somewhere. He probably can't/ won't
- payroll: set up quizlet for vocab
- get dressed and spiffed; take dh to the airport
- payroll: make HW4
- payroll: grade HW3
- back exercises
- s2s and self care
- make bed
- make sandwiches for self; gather food for ds + F
- drove to hospital with Sh
- lunch at the hospital with ds + F
- lots of time in the NICU; had long conversation with the nurse
- long phone conversation with dh

helia, I'm glad that F. is doing well enough to be discharged, even if Little I. has to stay for longer.
I DID get the sale-priced cottage roll, helia. I was so happy that I bought two. I'll put one in the freezer.

Hi, blessedw2

Monday
Put away dry dishes
Put on a pot of rice
Set up new procrastaccomplishments list
Updated goals
Washed some dishes
Washed out coffee pot
Cleaned up after dog
Fresh water for dog
Swept out dog’s pen
Papered the dog’s pen
Spiffed self
Changed bathroom towels
Bagged kitchen and bathroom garbage
Brought garbage to basement with Germane
Walked Germane
Picked up mail
Treats for dog
Signed up for Acorn meeting tomorrow
Fresh kibble for Germane
Tried to coax Germane into her pen. She declined.
Decided to take the chance on letting her stay where she wants while I go out doing errands.
Put down food for her
Went to bank and deposited my OAS cheque.
Went grocery shopping. Joy of joy: they still had the cottage rolls in stock. Animal protein for $3.50/lb. Went on to buy everything in the store. Their nefarious plan worked.
Came home to quiet apartment. Germane has not been bothering anybody.
Put away cold groceries.

I'm so happy things are looking up for baby I, helia! I hope mom and baby will SOON be home together! I have never had to leave a baby in the NICU but I know it has to be hard.
How far apart do you all live -- from you and dh to baby and family, I mean. I saw where you said dh was going to the airport. I hope y'all get to spend LOTS of time with baby I when she gets home.
Tomorrow is another day.

Thank you lucylee! My son and F live in the Seattle area while dh and I live in Ann Arbor, MI. It's about 2300 miles by car or a 4-5 hour plane flight. We won't get to see little I that often, unfortunately. It's just so far, and dh is always very busy at work, and it's hard for him to find time to take off.

Little I is doing better but it will be a few more days before she can go home. But the day did not end well. When Sh and I got home, I was struggling with a couple bags and the key. I opened the door and one of the cats was right there -- and he shot out of the house quick as a flash. Sh and I spent 40 minutes wandering around the neighborhood in the dark looking for him. No luck. Ds and F came home, and ds and I spent more time looking around the neighborhood; ds talked to a couple neighbors. No luck. Ugh. I feel awful. Ds and F are very kind and say it has happened before with this cat. We left the garage door open and put a dish of wet food in it. It's a cool night so maybe he'll find his way back, looking for some warmth.

More I could type, but I'm tired and done with this day. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

Came home to quiet apartment. Germane has not been bothering anybody.
Put away cold groceries.
Took a break
Brought Germane down to the car
Loaded up the cart with the rest of the groceries
Started walking her back
Germane stopped to poop.
Checked that the cart seemed stable, then let it to follow her.
Looked back to see the cart starting to move.
Checked that no cars were coming, dropped Germane’s leash and started running after the cart–too late
The cart fell off of the sidewalk, tipped over on its side and spilled the groceries out
Returned to Germane
Cleaned up after Germane
Looked for somewhere to attach her leash
Set the groceries on the sidewalk
Put the cart back on the sidewalk
Found a way to jam it into the grass so it would stop rolling
Loaded the cart
Unwrapped Germane’s leash from the pole around which she had been doing a solo May dance
Brought Germane and groceries up to the apartment
Treats for Germane
Germane pooped on pee pads
More treats

Hi, lucylee

(((helia))) I have had that happen to me. I looked after my df's cats most weekends for a decade, then one day one cat thought that he should go on an excursion. He wouldn't come back for me. I tried to call him and walked around the neighbourhood over and over, but he stayed hidden. Had to call my df. Then when she came home and he heard her voice, he came strolling out from under the hedge. I am very hopeful that your escapee will stroll back home soon.

I am going to clean up Germane's pee pads and then I'm heading to bed. Good night!
