And my cousin in Florida, whose orange trees were dropping fruit, ahd a neighblr who told her, sure beats shovelling snow!

Hi. I;m back from an 1800 mile road trip. Nephew's confirmation, then take my dsis2 350 miles to ride the train back to her hosue, then home.
Got back late Wednesday night. Now today I have a cold starting, and I'm ready for a npa. I've been working on funeral prep. Food for 175. Our church doesn't have a color printer, so I am blessed that I can go to the college to get Mom's picture in color, and work with someone who actually knows how to design. Every time I ask our church secretary to make a revision, he screws something else up! Of course, we are going "above and beyond" to make the funeral "just right" becasue that is how mother liked things done. And I am happy for all I did for her 100 party, so it helps me make good decisiouns now.
We're asking the college to plan on dinner for 175.
It's Halloween. I don't have any candy, so I'm turning off the lights and will take a nap. I think I have 2 more people to contact before I can go to sleep. Then up early tomorrow, to go to a funeral 2.5 hours away, for the husband of a cousin. Cousin died 3 weeks before Mom's 100 birthday, husband died 2 days after Mother. I hope I'm feeling OK for that tomorrow. I have things at mother's to bring to the funeral, to give to a cousin, so will have to gather those things also. But first sleep.

Oh, (((Gma))), what a time for you! I hope that after the funerals things quiet down for you and you get a chance to breath and think about what comes next.

I think that you live in a different culture, trissie, where people will be better positioned to ride out rising prices and global supply chain issues as you still know how to harvest fruit and vegetables and preserve them. My mother knew how to garden and preserve food, but she never taught that to her daughters and I am as guilty as anyone of not learning on my own. I've been saying for the past 10 or 15 years that Canada rode out two world wars because we grew our own food and preserved it ourselves, but that all it would take to starve us now is for us to be outbid.
On that cheery note, I wish you a good night, LOL.

Friday
Tidied table
Treats for dog
Cleaned up after dog
Put on a pot of coffee
Spiffed self
Negotiated with dog at length
Outcome was that dog did come to supervise laundry but that canned dog food as reward is no longer acceptable
Found that one of the two washers on my floor has a handwritten note listing its latest crimes
Started one load of two winter jackets
Brought back laundry cart and dog, who is not angry but disappointed in me.
Put away contents of hand truck
Collapsed it to two wheels
Flipped first load
Started second load of laundry

Hello everyone!

Trissie, I'm glad you had a good time at the cottage, and especially that the teenagers talked! :D

Bama, I hope you feel better soon.

L.Ann, a pink witch sounds very pretty!

Helia, good news about Baby I, but it still must be very difficult for F and DS not to have her home.

I hope the washing machine you pick is well behaved, Dogged! :D

Gma that sounds a huge job for your DMum's funeral. I'm glad you had a good time on your trip.

It's been another good day, the parcelcollection happened smoothly :D , I finally managed to book Fred's boosters, and I think I've walked miles - mostly in town. Fortunately it stayed dry all the time I was outside, and I even managed to top up the bark in my front garden. I had a good chat with DF CW and another with Dnextdoorneighbour C. G13 and her little friend came over to show off their Halloween costumes. CW had told them that after last night they were Not Allowed to ask for any sweets, but she had said earlier that she was happy for me to give them each a handful of mixed sweets. After that, we pulled the curtains at the front of the house and turned the lights off, so more visitors. (If you want trick or treaters to call, you might the place up and display a pumpkin). Laundry in os.fded and PA and everyone has been fed. And all the kitties have been on my lap (separately ). Freddie wanted there was no one else around to witness him being "uncool"! :D

That sounds like another good day, Kittykatt. We use the same system to communicate whether we are giving out candy at Halloween.

Off to check the laundry...

Good evening!

Doggedly, bummer about nobody wanting a pear tree in their yard. Do males as well as females produce fruit or โ€ฆ?

Kitty, those new shoes have you be bopping all over the place. Thank you for the well wishes.

(((Gma))), hope all the details get worked out.

Trissie, I could say the same for past presidents but I wonโ€™t. I feel the same about figs, I enjoy the local ones but ones that are shipped in are not the same at all. Even dried, store bought donโ€™t have any flavor. Thereโ€™s a window of a few weeks here where when picked, figs have the perfect taste and texture, although I canโ€™t think about the wasps that gave their lives for them. Yuck.

Hi and wtg, peaches.

Thatโ€™s as far back as I can scroll. I know I saw LAnn and helia ๐Ÿ‘‹ but canโ€™t remember what I read.

Hope you all had a splendid day. My head was pounding the more I lay there so dh went to get us something to eat, the nearest place has frozen coffees so I asked for one. After I drank some of it, my headache was gone. I was afraid it was caffeine. I havenโ€™t had any caffeine for a few days, looks like Iโ€™m addicted to it again. I only drink one coffee a day in the am so didnโ€™t realize that was causing my headaches until today when my ha totally disappeared after lingering for a few days. Now I wish I had suffered through with no caffeine and worked through it. Oh well. At least itโ€™s not anything worse, my mind was going to a bad place thinking it could be all sorts of things. Mystery solved.

I did get a lot done today, dailies, laundry, etc. wonโ€™t bore you with all the details. Youโ€™ll have to take my word for it lol. :P

Working on my planner now, Iโ€™m several months behind, so thatโ€™s why I came on, then decided to cuops for today. Now to fill the planner in with my tadas from this week.
โ™ฅ Wake each day expecting good things to happen! โ™ฅ

You might be addicted to caffeine, Bama, or it might be that the caffeine relieved your headache. Coffee is one of my treatments to stop a migraine from getting hold. I always assumed that it's because I am addicted too. But recently I heard on the radio that they now think that caffeine can stop a migraine. I also find that eating something gives full relief for about 20 minutes. They used to say that it was because the blood was sent to the digestive organs, relieving the pressure on the blood vessels in the head. But in the same show, they said that it was to do with blood sugar. In any case, I'm glad that your headache is gone.

I have got the laundry hanging. I'm very happy that enough laundry came out of the dryer dry enough to put away, that I don't need the big laundry rack taking up space in the apartment. I did set up the small rack in Germane's pen, but she only uses the front part of it to get kibble and water, so she won't mind my taking over the back end. If I went away I would of course remove the rack before putting her in her pen.

Tomorrow I will have to focus on getting the kitchen back into shape. But once I have cleaned up after Germane again, I will feel that I have done enough for tonight.

WTG on your Ta Das!
