FFB, it is hard when you can see how your aging parents' relational patterns make life more difficult for one or both of them. Glad for the good family time. We take the good when we can!

Church ran long this morning, and then they had their monthly social time. We got home close to 1 pm. I had lunch and got the kitchen cleaned up and the dw going. Now it's almost 4. Where did the time go?? Dinner will be here at 6ish. Just 5 of us.

I got a baby update from F this afternoon. They have taken the tubes out of her nose that were supporting her breathing, so she is now breathing 100% on her own! That's big. Now, they're just making sure she can eat and gain weight well enough to leave the hospital.

Oh my, so many fixings for people who don't do their jobs right! Mom's obituary was supposed to be in one paper today. The paper confirmed it to the funeral home, but then didn't publish it. So that has involved several emails between me and the funeral home, plus both emails and phone calls between the funeral home staff and the paper. I"m glad the funeral home is taking care of that piece. And the other, a weekly paper, published the obit Oct 30 instead of Nov 6. I don't plan on paying them twice, but thought it was good to have it published the day before the visitation so ti is fresh in people's minds. I learned about this at church this morning, as many people had seen it. I hadn't even looked for it.

I've sent several things to the college print shop by email. I will meet with them tomorrow for corrections, formatting etc.
I have to go to Walmart to print some pictures - and have lost the thumb drive that holds all the 100 birthday pictures - I was going to enlarge a couple of them. I printed all the pictures over a year ago, and don't remember what I did with the thumb drive- which house would it be in???.

And I need a pair of black shoes! The Velcro that holds the strap on my one pair doesn't hold! And I need black shoes for the funeral: I don't want to wear tennis shoes or hiking boots!

Thank goodness for the wind - it is taking care of many of the leaves that need raking!
I am looking forward to getting back regularly and catching up with everyone - it will be a week or 2

LOL Kittykatt, I'm not sure that an extra hour of lounging counts as a good use of the extra hour, but I'll take it.
Is Agatha Chritie's Halloween Party the story where Miss Marple goes to visit an old friend for a few days and gets steered into a walk through the woods so that she will witness the "attack" before the real one happens? Or is it a show that is not directly based on one of her stories.
I just finished The Sittaford Mystery. It was such a lucky find to get an audiobook from the library for an Agatha Christie that I have never read.

(((Gma))) so many things to do for the funeral, and other people falling down on the job doesn't help! I'm sure that the funeral itself will go smoothly, after all of the work you have done for it.

Canadians have a long history of not supporting each other, FrenchFly, which is how we have ended up in such a precarious situation now. Luckily we have a Prime Minister who recognizes the problem and has made an issue of it.
It would be interesting to hear things about everybody's country here. What we think we know as opposed to the experience of people who actually live there.
