Re: Henry Morton Stanley Saturday @ TDD - c&C
Hello, all. I did get up during the morning; it has just taken me time to CUOP. I tried Germane's new food on her, and she loved it, and snubbed her regular brand. So I now have a food that she will eat reliably. I'm waiting to see what effect it has on her digestive system. It is gastrointestinal food from the vet's office, so it shouldn't be harder to digest than what she has. But I'm not in love with it. It's not a great brand (Purina) and when you look at the ingredients, it's the same garbage parts of the animals as in their lower-tier dog foods. But if it's something that Germane will eat, well, she's driving the bus at this point.
Thank you for another interesting start, trissie. Like many, I was familiar with the Stanley/Livingstone quote, but didn't know much else about him.
Thank you, Kittykatt. I am thinking of my db, too. I don't know exactly when he will do it; it will depend on whether Lego seems comfortable or in distress.
I can certainly understand your frustration about the fireworks. I would not depend on them in the future. You know the adminstrator's name and what holidays are usually celebrated with fireworks, so I would call the school just before the next one, ask to speak to the administrator and ask him if and when there will be fireworks.
Thank you, trissie. No visits planned soon. I just went in October, and am on reduced income so will stick to my usual spring and fall visits.
Kittykatt, your cat not only walks on a leash better than my dog, but he is more weather-proof, LOL.
FrenchFly, you remind me of an old debate about Vinland between Atlantic Canada and Florida. Those who said that Vinland was Florida said that it's named after grapes and you don't grow grapes in Newfoundland, and they said the weather was warm, which Newfoundland is not. Those who said it was in Atlantic Canada said that they might have been using the word grape because they didn't have a word for the local fruit (think pineapple that is neither pine nor an apple) and that people who were acclimatized to Greenland and Iceland would not describe Florida as warm, they would describe it as too hot and humid.
trissie, Mr. Farting Unicorn is pretty funny. There are no parents in my social circle that I loathe, so no farting unicorns on my Christmas list.
helia, you keep very very busy, so I'm not surprised that you feel like you are not making progress on some goals. Is there one in particular that is getting under your skin? That might be one to set time aside for. Now, if I can just take my own advice, LOL.
Lauralind, your dfather's turnaround in his attitude toward help is wonderful. I can imagine what a relief it is to you.
L.Ann, I'm glad that the procedure went well. Welcome back!
Hi, Bama!
Hi, Peaches!
Saturday
Cleaned up after Germane
Put on a pot of rice
Tested Germane on vet’s new food: she loved it. She licked the plate around the floor and left it on top of the plate of her regular food.
Checked the ingredients list: it’s $1 more per can for garbage ingredients. We’ll see how she digests it.
Checked/put away dry laundry
Cleaned up after Germane
Gave her treats and pill
Put away dry laundry
Physio exercises
Put on a pot of coffee
Put away the rest of the laundry from the big drying rack
Put away big drying rack. Yay! Reclaimed space.
Filled dw to run later
Emptied out granny cart and reorganized part of food shelf to accommodate it

Re: Henry Morton Stanley Saturday @ TDD - c&C
L.Ann, WTG on all that you got done, and for listening to your body and slowing down when it says that it is time.
Go, Peaches.
I have walked Germane. The weather is better than I expected. It's below freezing, but there's no wind so we were fine. I had forgotten about having to carry Germane to the city sidewalk to avoid the salt that they put down on the paths.
Saturday
Cleaned up after Germane
Put on a pot of rice
Tested Germane on vet’s new food: she loved it. She licked the plate around the floor and left it on top of the plate of her regular food.
Checked the ingredients list: it’s $1 more per can for garbage ingredients. We’ll see how she digests it.
Checked/put away dry laundry
Cleaned up after Germane
Gave her treats and pill
Put away dry laundry
Physio exercises
Put on a pot of coffee
Put away the rest of the laundry from the big drying rack
Put away big drying rack. Yay! Reclaimed space.
Filled dw to run later
Emptied out granny cart and reorganized part of food shelf to accommodate it
Spiffed self
Gathered garbage and blue box recycling and brought all to basement with dog
Walked dog
Mini grooming session with dog
Closed balcony for the season:
Moved small drying rack into dog’s pen
Moved plants and room divider
Brought in shelves that I had intended to use for plants
Brought in plant stand, waterer and basin
Found my cane that has been missing for weeks! Brought it in
Arranged the furniture against the corners

Re: Henry Morton Stanley Saturday @ TDD - c&C
Doggedly i just came back from a dog walk too. Except it decided it is going to try the winter stuff. Gross wet snow i feel like my jacket is probably dripping dry now.
I did get my shopping done. Actually did ok with the shoebox things. Just a few things from work on Monday and then I can pack them. Better remember boxes tomorrow.
Not really whb. I am being slow today. Getting supper done is good enough.
Priority list
Basic routine

Work on crochet figure out what is wrong again
Today's tada list
Switch laundry
Sweep everywhere
Straighten main living space
Shower
S&s both baths and reboot laundry
Tidy laundry room and master bedroom some
Empty and reload dw
Finish tidying kitchen all the way
Declutter island again

WTG on getting your shopping done, Laurlind. We are forecast for our first snow tomorrow. Sometimes the precipitation comes down around us and gives us a miss, so we’ll have to wait and see.

That's quite common here too. Everywhere gets a big snow fall and not much in town.
Ds 27 did come for supper. Ddil and dgs went to the city with her sister. The snow came and ds didn't want her driving home so she will spend the night at her parents and drive home tomorrow.

Don't know if anyone is interested, but I have put a link to mother's service and to her obituary. The service starts about 15 minutes in
Everything went well. We had 50 people yesterday for visitation, came home to serve 12 people supper. Service today was done very well. Everyone who participated did well. Well attended- I haven't counted the guest book attendance fo r numbers. We had enough food, and leftovers that will be enough to serve the people who come for our Wednesday night church supper.
We all went home afterwards, and took at least short naps. then we had 14 people for supper tonight. And enough leftovers that I could send some food back to University with dgrandson, as he has an apartment this year and appreciates food that he doesn't have to cook
. I think we are going out for breakfast tomorrow, then start opening cards.
