Sunday, Secure about Where We Are

Post by Harriet »

Several times lately I've heard myself asking me this question:

Okay, now where am I?

Sounds like an obvious one, doesn't it, but the answer can't be, "here I am". Because I'm not asking location, I'm asking :

Where, in the (week, month, year, grand scheme of things) am I, in relation to hopes, dreams, plans or practical day-to-day, even down to micro-managing a project.

How do you measure "Where am I?"
Do you calendar so well that your handwriting is tiny on the page?
Do you fill in charting/graphing like Habit Trackers
or give yourself a gold star when you are halfway through a project?

Do you measure your (or your household's) status by meeting calendar goals, liKe "3rd Wednesday evening of November, casseroles are ready for the oven", or "Dawn of 3rd Friday of November, sleepy husband dressed and ready for a shopping trip.", or "A tree sprouts up in the house by the same day it did last year" :?:

How will you use Sunday to ponder, to consider, and to secure your hopes for all the upcoming?

actually this weekend, I planned to ponder what I want from the holidays and maybe start thinking about 2026. not glitzy or extravagant- a feeling along with action to get what I want out of this time. What's important to me and in turn think about what is important to my family.

good morning to all! (or good afternoon - depending on where you live)
London 2:39 pm Alsace where my family is from and lives 3:39 pm
it is 8:39 am at my home!

Good morning

I am constantly asking myself....Okay...what's next. Not only am I extremely easy to sidetrack but there is always something distracting me.

I was working away and then....
** monitoring DH as he went to change clothes for the 3rd time this morning
** DD14 is singing. It is beautiful and I could easily stop everything and just listen.
** a stranger rang doorbell to ask about vehicles for sale. I told him to call the number on the for sale sign but he doesn't have a phone. So I called DS17 and put it on speaker phone so they could have a conversation. The man said he would be back at 10am tomorrow with cash to purchase vehicle.

Okay. regroup again. What's next?

Question.....for those buying Christmas gifts early. What happens if you need to return it and it is over the 30 day return period?

LOL, bw2, I hope you find suitable attire for the occasion! Are your dds going, too?

Dh was peeved at me that I didn't want to get out early with him this a.m. He was picking ds up for a walk, breakfast, and trip to Costco and he was leaving early. Or maybe they were skipping walk and just going to Costco? I don't know. He suggested we could stop off and see dcousin J who just had surgery while out, and I'd like to do that but my nasal passages are still drippy I and I sure don't want to spread anything around. I really just like to sleep late on the weekends because I don't allow myself to do so during the week.

Secure about where we are. Hummmnnn. I don't know about that. Things are all over the place in my head. We're apparently going to the Gatlinburg Pigeon Forge area on Wednesday to see dh's dniece and family. That means I won't be able to watch the webinar that I had signed up for on Wednesday and it doesn't look like it's being recorded. Drat. But dh was accommodating his schedule of bowling. Whatever, I guess.

Things I MUST do this week:
-dog sitter for our December trip to NYC
-dress/clothes for 5 Dec wedding
-clean up yard, plants that bit the dust last week. Skipping pansies this time, I think.
-What else? I only have to make bread and/or something else for Thanksgiving at dcousins

I can barely think for ddog barking periodically about her walk. She won't just go outside.

LadyM, I also have that "what's next?" refrain going. I think that I get reset somehow when dh or dog interrupts me so it's hard to get that next, next, next going again. I'm taking the dog to walk now. I give up.

I was up at 6:00 went out with dogggo to do my stretches on the deck.
Was delighted to see day break happening!

To keep up with where I am ...
I do daily bujo of top three today; next steps also 3; and 3 things I'm looking forward to & OMM.
Planning is where I log what I did actually do.
I write out a page of reflections and goals I use a master sheet of prompts.

Sunday often is three R's Rest Reflect & Restore!
Last week I did not get a chapter or page read in a novel I want to finish but I did read
a chapter in my Bible study type of book.
Read a chapter in a novel have not done that for ages!

I just took more foods to the basement freezer from yesterday's cooking adventures.
Last nite DD called to check in and we talked for 2 hrs.!

Next Week Soon:
deliver food donations I've rounded up to drop off place.
Devil eggs for turkey day later on ->
Get Cmas card ready for dd. X
Get Cmas card ready for dsis. for dsis.
Leaves to rake; it's sprinkling outside I did sweep under the tree and will wait to do the rest of the raking on another day.

Hi!

Chili is simmering on the stove and while I was at the stove, I also boiled water to make jello for dessert.

If I write too tiny on the calendar, neither one of us can see it. :o

Dh has bloodwork later this week and then an appointment with his doctor a week after that. Other than that, we are coasting I think.

One Christmas gift has been purchased for dh. Tree goes up in 2 more weeks.

Blessed if you are stressed about going to the baby shower, then don't go. Unless it is one of your children, you don't have to go.

Dh is watching the pre game show.

Breakfast cooked for DH
6 jars of my breakfast made
2 types of chicken cooked. Honey BBQ chicken nuggets and Terriyaki chicken
A pot of my favorite type of soup made. Three proteins and 12 types of vegetables.

DGS28 asked to hang out with me today, because he’s given up on me going to see him. I want to, but there’s just so much to take care of here or things start to fall apart. I keep reminding myself this is only a short season of life. By this time next year, it’s unlikely I’ll have multiple teenagers in the house—DD14 might be the only one.

Dh had chili for breakfast because it smelled so good. After he ate it, he mentioned that he forgot to mention tomatoes. Thankfully I had some in the freezer, so I added some.

I've gotten the bed sheets washed as well.

Most of my regular Sunday things are done. Cats have had their weekly cat nip treat.

After struggling mentally and feeling physically unwell for the past three days, I’m able to easily keep up with my hourly cards, which suggests my mental fog is starting to lift. I don't have the flu like all over body aches today. I have not taken Red Rice Yeast or any prescription for high cholesterol for the past 36 hours. I’m not sure why my body does this, but I’ve experienced it enough times to know it’s definitely real. The doctor acknowledges that some people experience this reaction but keeps suggesting different medications. I’ve tried four of them, all with the same result. Now he’s pushing for me to take a cholesterol-lowering shot, but I’m resisting. The shot lasts six months, so if I react the same way, I’d be in pain & mental fog for half a year. No thanks. My cholesterol is classified as Familial so they say it limits what can be achieved with healthy food and exercise. But I keep trying. The good news is no one in my family has died from heart failure so maybe we are just weird, and our bodies like to have high cholesterol. I can only hope.

DGS28 is headed my way. I just asked if he wanted to team up to trim the shrubs in the front of our house and told him that "No, is a perfectly acceptable answer". He does want to do it. This means we get hours of talking time as well as being in the sunshine and keeping our hands busy. Win! Win! Win!
