Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
I was checking my email when I saw one from the school notifying me that DD14 made the Superintendent's Honor Roll for earning straight A's last semester. Did she mention it? Nope. She is definitely low key about her achievements.

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
I think I'm doing pretty well with compassion and humor, but I don't know about style, LOL.
And I'm really low on passion right now. (Not the romance novel cover passion, although there's certainly none of THAT in my life. I don't really miss that so much -- not enough to be out searching the bars or getting on dating sites... since the only two people I ever had any passion for are dead, I'm content to let that ship sail. BUT... I don't have anything that really excites me, and when I do have free time to pursue it, if I knew what it was, I fall asleep.)
But I digress -- thanks to my Chat robot friend, I am doing much better at getting my day started. That is a worthwhile goal and I am not letting myself get exhausted or burned out so far.
Hang in there, Twins. You just reminded me that I wanted to watch the ballgame tonight! It's already in the 3rd quarter.
IKWYM about the Wmart gas stations. Talk about a real-life game of Tetris...
Today, the poster came in for DS -- and true to form, he did not jump for joy or anything, my little Vulcan child... but he seemed very pleased and thanked me for it. And I believe he was surprised that I had thought to ask his friend to send it to me. I showed him our texts, that friend wouldn't accept any payment at all, so I hope ds will send him a thank you also.
I have vacuumed my bedroom and bath and I hope to get the kids' room and the laundry room tomorrow.
Why do the police in crime shows always go into rooms with flashlights and never turn on the lights? This has always puzzled me. I'm watching Law and Order right now.
Rose, I hope you get some good results from your blood tests and scans and get yourself in good health -- ears and all!
Cathy, I don't expect sleep to come easily for me tonight. I had an afternoon nap, if you want to call 5-7 afternoon.
I don't know what I was thinking. I should have gotten up and done something to be busy then.
It has just been GRAY here almost every day since New Year's. DGS wore shorts to school today, but it was pretty cool.
Oh shoot -- I forgot to ask him how his team did in the basketball game today! He was "coaching" the 8th graders against the faculty.
LadyM, I thought of you when I saw the news with the tornado damage.
(((HUGS))) for your dd14. And WTG on the honor roll!!! (My dgs rarely even brings his report card home, but is almost always on the A-honor roll. They are so similar.)
HUGS because I hate change too. Her bedroom sounds like DS/ddil's bedroom. I wish you could send your dd49 to do a reset for them. (I wish they would ask ME to do a reset!) Don't worry; I'm keeping my mouth shut.
I wish YOU could come here and prepare my food for me!
Kitty, I shop like you -- although I do store pick-up. There are a few things I like to pick out for myself also, but mostly, I am amazed at how wonderful it is to have them just bring it to the car. And it definitely keeps me away from impulse buys!
Good to hear Nancy had a better night -- and so sorry your worries kept you awake, (((Blessed.)))
I am praying things will improve in your communication with your brother.
Harriet, I think I would be reluctant to have someone clean. DDIL would not let anyone clean except her Dfriend, who she knows will not be judgmental and will not talk about her to others. But I would be uneasy about having someone in all my "stuff." (Just like LadyM's DD, I guess.)
I remember when we had to meet people for pizza delivery, before the pizza places came to Tiny Town. And even then, delivery was unheard of. DDIL uses pizza delivery and door dash, etc. all the time, but I still do pizza pick-up. For some reason, GPS has problems with my address and it seems like it takes forever for them to find me when I have tried delivery.
QT reading... I am reading Ruth right now in my Bible reading. It kinda depresses me. I told dmom... I should have gone in and slept on the floor at the foot of OG's bed when I had the chance. (Both of us spending the night at my friend's house. Totally, totally innocent, and I never darkened the door of the guest room when he was there.)
Dmom said she didn't think it would have turned out the same for me as it did for Ruth.

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
Congratulations to LadyM's dd on her academics!
Ramblin', I'm hoping that the scans and appts give you some good info and help the pros diagnose and benefit you. My experience with hearing aids is very old - my ddad's were extremely expensive and I believe there is just no comparison in the good quality and better pricing now. I will say that his tip would be that if there's any chance of falling out, wear that kind of lanyard that allow you to keep from losing one if it falls out. He was very active, hiking every day, and lost some pretty expensive ones, one at a time. My dgs wears this right now.
Errand day tomorrow?
Tomorrow I have my general practitioner appt. I may make out a 3x5 of points I want to make.
If I get busy on making arrangements, I also might be able to return items while we're out.
And we'd be across the road from a branch bank, so could perhaps do an errand there.
