Sunny Sunday PWYC
Make your day sunny, regardless of what's outside the window! The sun is out here and we're to see it for a couple of days. My mood is always improved here in dreary January when we make some sunshine in our village!

Re: Sunny Sunday PWYC
Thank you for starting us today Twins' Mom!! The sun is shining here!
I've taken out bathroom and kitchen garbage.
2 of 3 litter boxes are clean.
I have a bunch of other stuff to do.
Dh and I talked about his possible future over coffee and hot chocolate this morning.

Re: Sunny Sunday PWYC
Good morning! I've got a little time before we have to leave for church, so I thought I'd peek in. We are not having sun here. We had pouring rain yesterday, and today, we have snow. Neither of which is great weather for delivering beach club flyers up and down the street.
The communications chair wants the flyers delivered this weekend, but I am not going to hold it against my family if they want to wait until tomorrow, when it will still be cold, but we are supposed to have sun and much less wind.
Other than church today, we have nothing planned. Now that Klondike is passed, DH does not have to go out this afternoon for practice. I didn't ask DH how it went -- their practice usually has them placing near the top, but they had only 3 Scouts go out this year, so I rather expect they didn't do so well. It'll be interesting seeing what he decides to do with his free afternoon.
What I do will depend on what he decides to do -- start underrating? Play a game? We'll see.
I hope LadyM's tummy troubles have subsided.
Time to head to church. Have a great day!

Re: Sunny Sunday PWYC
Can't believe it's already noon. I wasn't up until nine a.m. and slept well, except for the 4:30 a.m. interlude in which ddog cornered a kitty in the backyard under an Adirondack chair. Dh actually went outside in his skivvies and moved moved the chair, enough that the cat flew out of the yard. Poor dMilly! It took awhile for her to settle down after that, and she's been on the alert this a.m. We did see a kitty when walking on the other side of the neighborhood.
A.m. routine is underway. Taking it a bit easy today. I need to stretch my lower back, it's sore on the opposite side of where it was sore yesterday. I did an instacart order and I'll make an easy creamy chicken/spinach soup for tonight, it's sautéed veggies, a roux and sauce, then add rotisserie chicken. High only around 45 today so soup with some protein sounds good. I ordered an extra rotisserie chicken, sometimes they are small, so I can add additional chicken if needed, and perhaps have some for the week.
This is a quiet week mostly. Two workouts, a Zoom tomorrow night, a Zoom with mentee when she schedules it, an online hour long webinar, and dcleaning lady on Thursday. I need to figure out priorities for this week.

Bring on the sun! I like the beat of music in this Song about sunshine state of mind.
I’m so grateful to be feeling like myself again. It still amazes me how much what I eat impacts both my body and mind. When I was younger, it didn’t seem to affect me as much—or maybe it did, but I wasn’t paying attention like I do now, so I never noticed the cause-and-effect of my eating habits. ANYway, I'm glad to put that bad for my body food choice experience behind me.
We went to church this morning and loved every moment spent with our church family. All my usual spots were taken, so I ended up sitting near the center front, which is the opposite of my usual back seat or aisle preference. But I was so happy to be there, soaking up the atmosphere, that I quickly forgot about where I was sitting.
Not surprised this happened.....but I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed for DD14. We have been planning in a group text with DD49 for several days to do a reset on DD14 bedroom today. This morning DD49 cancelled.

** declutter something. I'm thinking about doing DH bedside table area. I could put things into categories and then show him and explain what could be done with each category. I want to keep DH involved in the decision process of taking care of his stuff as much as possible.
** Fill the monthly containers of my vitamins

Re: Sunny Sunday PWYC
Finally!! The Christmas tree is away for another 11 months! It has never taken me this long! I found 4 ornaments on the bottom even though dh and I both looked yesterday and didn't see anything.
Living room and bedroom have been swept and mopped. Parts of the kitchen have been swept and mopped. As soon as dh leaves the bathroom, I will go in there to mop because I've already swept in there.
The Bills game starts any minute now. Dh said the pre game show started last Tuesday.
Sometimes I will tell him that the pre game show started a few hours ago, but this time he mentioned it first. At least we can still make each other laugh. He was thrilled that the Bears won last night. He said he was a huge fan back when they had "The refridgerator" playing for them. I remember the hype, but I wasn't watching football back then. I don't really watch now, but I've learned a few key names and teams in the past few years..

Those done.
First asparagus harvest of 2026 just happened! Someone posted in our local gardening group that their asparagus was growing. NO way! I didn't expect it to happen but decided to look closely at my asparagus raised bed and there it was! Last year I harvested the first asparagus on May 4th. Sometimes it happens in March/April but this is a first for me to harvest asparagus in January. I haven't even finished cleaning up the old asparagus ferns because I thought I had another month to get it done. Getting the asparagus bed ready for 2026 has suddenly moved up in importance on my garden doings.

** look at the calendar events in the coming week. I don't wanna!! Without looking, I already know it is busy. I could easily procrastinate on this necessity....but pretending the busy week doesn't exist won't change anything. The facts are.... If I spent 10 minutes doing a little planning, it will make it go much smoother and reduce my stress level.

Re: Sunny Sunday PWYC
I kind of have a list going for the week, but I'm still thinking of things to add.
Last week I managed to get rid of a year's pd bills - old - and set up the 2026 paid bill file and a 2026 tax file for us. There are probably some other beginning of the year stuff to do.
I changed out the rings in my circa planner - ordered slightly larger rings by mistake but they look good and it feels roomier now too. Have s2s-ed also. Quiet day, which I'm loving.

Re: Sunny Sunday PWYC
The week is as busy as I thought, but at least now I have a plan to deal with the 7 appointments. I need to set the alarms up for this week....
6 alarms to wake teens
8 alarms to take/get DD14 to/from school
7 alarms for the appointments
4 alarms for regular weekly happenings
soooooo with 25 alarms set, hopefully we will be on time for the all the doings this week.
I finally settled on my word for the year to focus on. I kept considering several very good words to use, but they didn't feel right. Finally, I considered Spirit and instantly knew it is the word that encompasses what i would like to focus on.
This year I want to focus my actions on activities that improve my spirit (movement and time outside), lighten the spirit of others (relationships and kindness), and draw me nearer to the Holy Spirit that lives inside my heart (daily prayer and Bible study). On one hand, it feels like an overwhelming focus with no clear end goals, but it’s the sense of moving forward that I’m after.
